Yup, agreed.
Looking to hear from Jackal regarding the walk keybind. If the walk mod is still better, it means we'll have to wait for the modder to reconfigure.

just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. so hi there.
my father started me on D&D back around 1988, I was 4 or so. got my first pc around 1992 there abouts, and i have been a strategy, RPG, most anything interesting gamer since then. I've been a Bioware fan since about bg-1, however long ago that was, lol. at first I was a lurker around most forums, started getting involved in the whole online community in or around 2004-ish, don't know how long I've been active here, few years if I had to guess. I'd sayi was a hardcore rp gamer, I roleplay in just about every game I play, in some fashion or another, even if the game in question has nothing to do with rpgs. I'm also a part time non-professional writer, non-published, so I don't even think I'm a writer really, I've started about 7 novels over the years, but never finished a one. that's about it.

Hello
(snipped to conserve screen real estate, not to detract from content)
Welcome ![]()
I am a PC girl and I also have a real nasty Power Mac with the Xeon E6 CPU and dual D700 video cards and 64Gig of Ram with 1TB of flash drive, it is a monster machine. My PC is an i7 2700k at 3.8Ghz and 16 Gig of Ram with dual 256 Gig SSD drive running in raid zero and a Asus GTX 570 Direct CU II everything on high and some on Ultra and banging myself between 45 to 60FPS with dual 28 inch monitors. On my Mac I have dual 30 inches 4K monitors.
I use a Mac Pro at work, dual Xeons, 16 GB RAM, etc and I'm also multiplatform
Good to see another Mac User who actually knows what they're doing ![]()
You're running Yosemite on the latest "tube" design Mac Pro I'm assuming, yes?
Leah
Yep Yosemite is amazing
And yest the new Mac Pro looks like a black trash bin, but it is quiet and sper fast and does not need 27 fans
Also nice to know another Mac girl
Oh I actually love the new design- been trying to get one for my department for a while now. I've got 3 Mac Pro's (running Adobe CC, etc.) at work but they're all aging, and unfortunately without cost justification they won't just get one. I had included a new one with my budget proposal- but seeing as how we're coming up to the next fiscal year and no word on approval I may just need to propose TWO this time around
(And people wonder why I loathe dealing with accountants and corporate types... )
I use a PC at home, mainly because of budget- sadly the reality is that even though Macs are more stable, it's an expensive hurdle for the majority of people to overcome for everyday use in this day and age. Then upgrade capability, etc PC's just seem to be the platform of choice when it comes to gaming.
I am not biased either way- both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Anyone else on here experiencing the audio glitches? It's especially noticeable during combat fighting demons around rifts. I just have this gut feeling that this particular issue is somehow related to the banter/music bug. I was hoping it would be one of the issues they addressed in Patch 3.

Personally, no- I've never had issues with audio in the game. What sort of sound chipset/board are you using?

You should check out cowboom.com for mac stuff. They have new/used/refurbished stuff for cheap.

My HP Envy uses IDT audio with beats. The last computer I played DAI on was using Realtek audio. It belongs to my gf now. I gave it to her as christmas gift to replace her aging dual core Dell I bought her a few years back.
All this talk of mac brings back some nostalgia. The last mac product I used. https://dl.dropboxus...7495/images.jpg

Hmm I'm not familiar with the IDT audio system. Is it an onboard chipset?
I use a Creative Soundblaster Omni now- I used to use the fancy Fatal1ty etc but realized that it really doesn't make much difference in performance or anything else.
The one thing I know about onboard chipsets is that their performance can be limited by bus width, resource dedication (especially memory address ranging) as well as the drivers. You running 32 or 64 bit?
I still remember doing graphics work on an old Mac IIci with 4 MB of RAM and a 50 MB hard drive. 25mhz processor and it took about a half hour to send a print job to the LaserWriter II we had in the office. You could literally make a pot of coffee and come back before the job was done baking.
Good times.

Yeah, 64 bit Windows 8.1 I've run the entire gamut of testing on it. 16 bit 44hz 16 bit 48hz, 24 bit 44hz, etc. No difference at all. I've also tried changing audio from headphones to theater to TV.

I'm still running 7 x64 SP 2. I used Win8 and 8.1 from beta, and although I could get around the new horrid "metro" system (another company shoving new interfaces down the users throats without "choice") and it boots up quicker, responds a little faster, etc. I really went back to 7 because of compatibility. I'll upgrade to 8.1 in another year or so when they get the drivers updated, stability with all games/software, etc.
As far as your sound- I'd make sure you've got the latest drivers and they're DX certified (dxdiag.exe) otherwise it could be causing issues. You may have to back to "reference" drivers if it doesn't behave.
(Oh and if you have another option for sound (USB or different card, etc) you may want to test it just to rule out the possibility quickly that it's the sound chipset, too.)

You can completely ignore the "metro" system in windows 8 and 8.1 . A freebie program solved that a long while ago. Classic shell. Anyhow, I do have the latest drivers and they are indeed DX certified. I may try reference drivers but I don't have audio issues in any other game so I'm hesitant to roll it back. I've used the AMD audio using HDMI out to a tv with some good results but it was intermittent as well. I do find it somewhat odd that the audio issue is non existent on Battlefield 3 and 4 . BF4 uses the same engine as DAI.
that's about what my very first pc was like, though I think my hard drive was 75mb, 60mhz processor, twas a Packard bell desktop iirc... how I miss SSI.
---edit
actually, I, or rather my dad... might have swapped out the processor, don't remember what it was originally, if that was the case.
SSI good memories.
