I must be thinking of the 750 TI . ![]()

Not true on 900 series being the only ones to use Maxwell .

They could have used Unreal or Havoc or whatever Skyrim is using :-)
The game would still have been amazing looking and they could have all the issues fixed in DAI by now :-)
And also the community could have made tons of Mods for DAI by now if it was not for garbage Frostbyte:-)

I agree with you wholeheartedly. All the alpha and beta scenes from a year ago that I'm seeing before game release looks like it's an upgraded version of the modified Unreal engine from ME3. The game looks different for the worst on Frostbite.

Well, the Skyrim Engine is a bit dated. Mods keep it good looking, that's true. But DAI still looks better imho. I kinda like the Frostbyte engine. It looked (and sounded) cool in Battlefield Bad Company 2 and also in BF3 and BF4. I'm not so great in MP, but I played the short campaigns and the graphics were a real stunner.
Yeah, maybe the current Unreal Engine could've been used. Or the CryEngine, but on the other hand, any third party developer who tried the CryEngine never achieved the graphical quality of the original developer of that Engine, Crytek.
When I think at Mass Effect 4 I actually expect it to look really, really great. For DAI they had to get the fantasy look right at first, which probably took a good amount of development time. Mass Effect being SciFi though and the engine being used for current and future-tech in the BF games I think there isn't much to change to get it in shape for Mass Effectn. ^^

Don't you just get this sinking feeling that Mass Effect 4 will be Battlefield in space?
As for the Skyrim engine, that thing is a frankenstein but very moddable. With ENB, and mods, it really doesn't look like the same game but I do agree with you that the graphics are not up to par as current engines.

I called Origin today about the client. Believe it or not, there are issues using and downloading the client using Chrome. Weird. While I was on the phone I asked about the controls for DAI. There are no troubleshooting notes using a mouse or keyboard. NONE. They have general troubleshooting tips about mouse and keyboard issues. So... stop waiting for point-and-click. TAC-CAM's issue is solved by plugging in a controller.
Bioware, you done fucked up.

Everytime I see Arryn Flynn, I want to slap his glasses off his face and reverse power kick him through drywall.

Of course they are busy fixing the MP part of it :-)
That is where the cash flow is at :-)
@Peregrinus
Big fan of the ME serie, but I think Bioware will screw up ME4 like they did with DAI :-)
Will I buy it, probably not till it has been out for 6 to 9 months or maybe never :-)

Although they cut back on answers to feedback here in the forums I'm pretty sure they got the message. That the extra maps in DAI are pretty empty for instance.
So even in the case that they take the DAI concept and use it for Mass Effect I'm sure they will improve on it and...well...I still very much like DAI. Still playing. Nearing the last quarter of the game I guess.
Some of the concept will probably work even better though. The maps, empty as they are, are already kinda diverse and rich in detail. Take that a step further - to planets of different kinds - and the art directors can go crazy on the diversity. I'm even amont that minority who enjoyed the Mako rides in ME1, so I'll be probably pleased with that, but with more details, better graphics and hopefully more fully developed content aka good quests. ![]()
Well...I guess if you're looking for critique you're simply talking to the wrong person. I'm an all scifi nerd. Truth be told I'm easily pleased when it comes to scifi, I like most of the different series (was never part of one group opposing another, like the Trekkies or die hard Star Wars fans) and movies and I'm surely also a Mass Effect fanboy. So, there's my confession. PC-players, please forgive my sins...so that I can add new ones.

Could they not make Havoc look amazing also :-)
Plus the Frostbyte engine in the Hans of amateurs like Bioware is like giving a loaded gun to a chimpanzee:-)
As my father always say you can have the biggest gun but if you do not know how to shoot it is useless :-)

@MatrixGirl You figure that they would have received more assistance from the DICE team. I guess they were too busy working on the next Battlefield for their EA overlords. Havok is middleware , isn't it?

heh, it was a all terrain fridge with bouncy floaty chassis.

Aside from the obvious bugs...what exactly do you think looks bad in DAI? Because I think it looks really good. The Witcher 3 will probably look better though. But not by much.
And the Mako...so much fun. Up a hill, over it with full speed, then kick-start the thrusters and wooooouuuuiiiiihhhh! ![]()

Skyrim is on the "Creation" engine according to Wikipedia.
I liked what the mod community was able to achieve with Fallout: New Vegas which in on the "Gamebryo" engine.
As with Skyrim there are some fantastic texture and environment mods for FONV allong with gameplay and new areas.
