So it looks like the Bioware team on ME4 is actually concerned with how people perceive DA.  Funny.  Maybe the PC concerns thread is actually doing something?

Or... perhaps they are just building into the Mako being a mount you ride around in, in a nice big single player mmo... And saying that it was what the first ME wanted all along.

It's just really hard to trust the words coming out of that man's mouth. I actually wasn't looking for another Mass Effect so I'm really not expecting much out of it.  I was really hoping for something more then what we got for DAI.

DA has been on a downhill spiral since Brent Knowles left, who left due to his disappointment with the direction of DA2 (more action, less party-based tactical rpg)

I just consider it like the Starship Trooper franchise, first one - masterpiece, second one - budget movie, third one - attempt to redeem the franchise but fails. Bioware has joined the ranks of other ruined companies left in EA's wake, can't earn success - buy it. They've hid behind successful developers too long. Thanks to "Bioware" at least they've convinced me to boycott them for good along with Ubisoft and their online-only DRM.

Just my opinion, but I can't help believing that Knowles departure was sped along with a few knife wounds to the back courtesy of ML.

"Discussion on Dragon Age 2 began around this time and looking ahead I knew that I wasn’t going to be satisfied with what Dragon Age 2 would be. Party control/tactical combat are huge factors in my enjoyment of a role-playing game as is adopting the role of the hero (i.e., customizing my character). I was fairly certain Dragon Age would transition towards more of a Mass Effect experience, which while enjoyable is not the type of role-playing game I play. Could I be the lead designer on such a title? Certainly… though if I were going to work on a game adopting a set-in-stone protagonist I’d rather work on something lighter, like a shooter.

Through a series of circumstances it was decided that with my not wanting to participate on Dragon Age 2 it was time to transition in a new lead to finish the Dragon Age console versions and ramp up for Dragon Age 2. I moved out of an active lead role though I stayed on for several months performing quality assurance and helping with the transition. I completed the game several times during this period and racked up the second or third highest bug totals… so, still busy but doing something quite different.

After this was over and the content locked down I took a sabbatical."

"When I returned to work I was hoping that there would be a new project lined up for me.

There wasn’t, not really. I did some high level design for a potential new project but a few months later I realized that, given cutbacks and other things that it really seemed unlikely that the project I had been ‘assigned’ to was ever going to materialize. I can’t/won’t go into any other details other than to point to an old entry I made about this and reiterate: “I’m not the same person I was when I started, and BioWare isn’t the same company. ”"

Well, probably not knife wounds on the back, but I guess they put him a corner in the back end of nowhere before he left. Encouraged to leave :)

Well, here's his blog on his departure:

http://blog.brentkno...08-summer-2009/

Very sad, but totally expected, to read that Bioware are destroying themselves from the inside out:

  • No longer care about the PC market, console fanboyism is where it's at
  • No longer care about any tactical elements. Tactics don't sell. If it ain't dynasty warriors the console fanboys ain't buyin

You can just see the shift in attitude plain as day. BW are no longer focused on providing the unique RPG experience they once did. It's over. Look forward to Mass Effect 4 guest starring Bayonetta very soon....

I think everyone in the group gets regular visits just to remind us who's in charge around here ... and that they're keeping an eye on us.

It kinda goes with the territory when you express any dissatisfaction or disagreement with them.

When you see a "regular" missing in action it's usually because they got hit with a temporary ban.

FOE spends more time gone than not ...

Hell, I'm still perma-banned from the DA2 forums for using the word "sheeple" one time.

My fascination with all things 40k (and Warhammer in general) goes back a long time ...

Still waiting on a "40k Inquisitor" rpg, maybe we can talk CDPR into that ...

(edit for grammar)

Afternoon everyone!  0 Warnings so far.  I don't know if anyone else here uses Razer Cortex to boost performance but the best part of this thing is the interface, namely the custom cover art. It makes everything look better even if the game is not. :)

I used the word pen*s :-)
That got me a warning :-)
He was telling me my PC was garbage, the arrogance of the idiot :-)

Anyway my father always told me ;
Never argue with an idiot , because after 5 minute you cannot tell who the idiot is :-)

Hugs and kisses all around :-)

I hate that Inclusive bunch.. The gay community demands inclusivity in all things, everywhere, and claim theyre being misrepresented, underrepresented, and treated poorly.. Forcing the issue everywhere.. Then, in the same breath calling anyone/everyone a homophobic, sexist, bigot who doesnt put political correctness front and center..

In the long run, i see it having the reverse effect thats being hoped for.. With this issue being forced so much, its putting a sour taste in the mouthes of many, who may otherwise have come to an understanding on their own.. Naturally.. That guy should be smacked..

CDPR is all those negative things because they have a premade protagonist, with extensive lore, and backstory, comics, etc..?  So should we also change Batman, He-Man, Superman, Spiderman, etc to fit todays constant, ever changin demand for equal rights, and  inclusiveness? The Hypocricy is astounding!
