While the non-mainquest-maps can be tedious and boring, Emprise du Lion really surprised me. Not many fetchquests, and if present then they are always ahead and along the way you have to go anyway. So no back and forth and repeat. A clear goal - fighting my way uphill, which felt challenging and rewarding, with the Inqusition camps being errected once I cleared an area. Liberating the rest of the map felt very satisfying (because it was closely tied to one of the main antagonists commanders) and his army and then in the end you get the big, fat keep.
Cool map outside of the awe-inspiring mainquest storyline.
And then the dragons...what battles those are. I defeated most of them on "Hard", some even on "Nightmare". The last one in Emprise du Lion was 2 level above me (23, my party was 21) and it was really, really close.
Even managed to capture the glory of this fight in a screenshot:

Was using some kind of multiple-fire-mine, but it definitely looked like out of a Francis Ford Coppola movie in Vietnam.
Conclusion: The concept for that map is very solid. I wish all were that good. Comparing it to the Emerald Graves for instance...so much lost potential on this map. These two big villas were lifeless and the second one, where they tried to put some horror into the game and failed miserably...
