Yeah, especially important is the healer skills and also the stress reducing ability of your crusaders.

Hey, check out the new channel graphic I made for my youtube channel. Let me know if you like it.   :)

Will do when I get home.

The problems with those Nexus mods is when Bioware sends out another update 2 things can happen;
1 the mods may trash the game
2 the mods may be deleted or destroyed by Bioware, heaven forbid that someone messed with their game and came out with something that works, but they did not think of it :-)
And you are playing with their Frostbyte engine :-)
You see they do not want to make the game better, and they certainly do not want other people playing with their superb programming:-) [being sarcastic on the superb programming] :-)

The way mods currently work, there is a fallback option that is pretty secure.

First you need to know that once you use a mod, they are saved into your savegame. Not every detail of the mod, just that a mod in a certain folder is used. When you erase that folder, your savegame will not load. A problem?

Not really. When a new patch comes out, you can download it and then copy all the patch files - unaltered - into your mod folder. The game will use this as a mod and since these are just the official patch files they will work perfectly fine.

The only think you lose are the actual changes made by the mods until there is a new and compatible version. But since I only use a few visual mods I could totally play without them.

So...new patch? No problem. :) Never understimate the modders. :D

have both ED and Star Citizen(Was shocked to discover my total spend on SC is $575) I like both equally very much however Freelancer is still my all time favorite especially the part where Edison Trent Launches the missile fitted with the Nomad Artifact into the Nomad Supergate. oh the feeeeels that scene gives me. its in this video @8:28

SC is too rich for my blood at the moment, I have two horses so most months I feel like I need to find some backers on kickstarter for myself lol! But when Squadron 42 comes out I'll be all over it, and then the open game to depending on cost. ED is fun, though I've yet to make it out of the solo game. I want to get the sidewinder maxxed on upgrades out first. I was hitting a wall combat wise with kb/m and controller so I got a HOTAS and things are looking up now.

That Freelancer vid does look good... Sadly I'm a shameful graphics ******, but you've inspired me to google and look what I turned up- 2014 graphics mod for Freelancer! Just like Freespace 2.

Guess I have new game to add to the collection lol!

My suggestion to Bioware is to look at what the modders are doing and check it out :-)
It may help Bioware in patching that piece of junk DAI faster and better :-)

But I guess they would not do that since they probably think that modders are low life programmers who know nothing :-)

And the Bioware dev's may get insulted and find a way to completely make sure that modders cannot change anything by creating some kind of file check, like ME3 had.

If ME3 had some unknown files the game would not start :-)

So it basically becomes a who can screw who game :-)

But we shall see what happens , either Bioware learns from the mods or they just make sure no one can use them :-)

And I would not let that past Bioware:-)

Just out of shear anger :-)

Nope, they wont do it. But there is of course limits to what a developer can do compared to modding. Look at Skyrim. The man-hours invested into modding probably exceed anything a developer can do in a reasonable amount of time by far. And the amount of mod-users vastly exceeds the number of beta testers a company could possibly hire.

I'm dying to find out what Bethesda will do for the next Elder Scrolls game. Will it look better as Skyrim with mods? Will it have features that rival some of the best mods? It's hard to imagine. :D Not so much the graphics part, but the features...

I'm wondering if they are using the updated Creation engine again but with more art assets or will they be only doing that for Fallout 4 , and then using a new engine for the next Elder Scrolls.

Fallout 4: Shadows of Boston.

I'm going to wait it out until patch one comes out for it and the modding community has already cracked it open. Obsidian did great with South Park: Stick of Truth (but that's not saying a lot when it's cardboard cutout scenery), but New Vegas took about four months to get going, but once it did... MMmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I've mentioned this a few times in the Community Concerns section. It's a nice, little kick in the rear to get them to pay attention.

Hey guys.  Just stopping by.

I realize things have been moving along here (almost said moving forward, but that would be unsubstantiated) but I really just cannot bring myself to (re-)commit to this crusade at the current time.  Mainly because it just pisses me off the more I read, and there are much better ways to spend my free time.

As such, I've never been to France, so I am currently enjoying walking the streets of revolutionary Paris on my 70 inch plasma in 1440p.  The m&kb controls are not bad at all for Unity.

Anyway, I usually check the announcements for word of patch 5.  If anyone gets any inside info on what the buffoons at Bioware might have in store, feel free to PM me.

Keep up the fight, people.

Patch 5 :-)

That may take a long time :-)

They are more interested in MP right now and selling hoodies:-)

And of course on Twitter they have boot lickers/fanboys making DAI jewelry:-)

Would not hold my breath for a mouse and keyboard revamp:-)

And maybe making the story less boring :-)

I gave up after 7 hours and got a full refund , but still own the game :-)

But it is uninstalled from my PC, 29Gig of malware :-)

Yeah... Patch 5 may come out in a few days or a couple of weeks, but the real fixes won't come until May or June from what I've been seeing and reading. I am hopeful that they will fix the point-and-click system so it's used outside of tactical camera. Right now, the game is playable, no thanks to DarkAmarant1966, Sartoz, Postem and a few modders at Nexus Mods and CheatEngine. CheatEngine is a must-have, in my opinion.

Just on a side note: EAware is going through some hack and slash of their own in terms of payroll. They just let go the developers and artists working on Shadows Realm in Austin. Also, EA laid off a lot employees in MatrixGirl's own backyard that were working on mobile games. Both steps, which I believe is clearly a good sign, are going to help EAWare get Inquisition on a more solid track. Honestly, I think EAware is going to bounce back from this, but the PC Community is going to have to get used to sloppy seconds (console porting) until the patches arrive.

Yeah graphics wise its a bit dated by modern standards though it's pretty good for the time it was released(1996/1997 if I recall) I got it on release day and still play it today its controlled mostly with M/KB in a very similar vain to War Thunder so you don't need fancy controllers or a super high end rig to run it and I'm pretty sure there are still MP servers running mods like Discovery still, pretty impressive for a game that's nearly 20yrs old lol

Makes no difference if they make 200 patches for this game :-)

At the core, it is always going to be a console port :-)

And I am quite sure that Bioware will for now on develop for the consoles and screw the PC people :-)

That is because we are the most vocal community and the most demanding community:-)

Would not be surprised I'd ME4 is not strictly a console game :-)

I do not think EA/Bioware wants anything to do with us anymore, it is the era of the dumbed down consoles:-)

Got to give something to the 12 years old :-)

And to tell you the truth DAI is too mature in content for a 12 years old anyway :-)

Well, I think it's OK to hold out hope for a miracle.  There had to be at least one programmer that recognized how drastic the changes were going to be and had some kind of plan to work on DAI's interface and provide something resembling what we had previously.

Perhaps that's what will be out in a few month's time, who knows.  I will keep tabs.

Just hope it's out before Witcher, because I'll have no reason to revisit DAI after that point.

But the biggest focus for our team in BioWare Austin will be on Star WarsThe Old Republic™. As every Star Wars™ fan knows, this is a massive year in the Star Wars universe. We have some great plans for expanding this epic game this year, and look forward to sharing the news about those plans with our players in the coming weeks.

That's from the Shadow Realms website.   On other news, I installed the 500 gig Maxtor drive and a DVD-RW drive I had laying around using a PCI controller card into the desktop. I got DAI running at 1366x768 smoothly at medium settings with only mesh on high and using all the mods I use on the laptop. So the 4gb memory wasn't the issue.  It seems that the 75% fragmented hard drive was the culprit.  Mantle however will not function without the system having 8 gb ram due to me relying on the APU for the graphics. I'll test that once I do.  I'll play with the settings more once I have 8 gigs of memory in the system but so far success!  :)

@Peregrinus
Yep you definitely need 8 Gig of Ram :-)
16 would be better, but 8 is a great start :-)
Defrag is something I have not used in 3 years :-)
SSD drives do not use defrag :-)
But an older mechanical drive that is highly fragmented will slow you down to a crawl, and kill your drive quicker since it has to go and fetch it's data all over the place :-)

Ya, I read somewhere that defragging an SSD drive is a bad idea.    I think I'll just stick with 8 gig and a get a dedicated card later. The rest of the system is pretty solid now.   Yeah, I've never had a drive so fragmented before, so I misjudged how much of a detriment it would be.   :)

When you install an SSD drive under Windows 7 it disables the defrag feature for that drives :-)

Defraging an SSD is not a good idea :-)

But a good thing to do to a SSD is once in a while download a new firmware for it :-)

It's quit simple its a small Linux boot loader with. Numerical menu and you do the firmware update and reboot and you are up to date :-)

Hello everyone! Surprised by the invitation, surely this needs a proper introduction but for certain i´m going to make a mess of this :P

My name is Ivan, i´m from Argentina (m i the only spanish native speaker around? Just courious) I´m 28 years old, work as a freelance translator and i´m a writer. Poetry mostly. Have one book published and close now to get a grant from the National fund for the arts, that´d be amazing and a life changer for this type of career, allowing me to do research jobs and publish a proper bilingual book, since i can manage decently both spanish and english. Also the chance to travel all around the globe doing what i love.

K, nuff of that.

Been in gaming since my... well, memory is fuzzy, but i remember playing randomly and get definitely amazed by videogames thanks to Metal Gear Solid narrative. I saw there what videogames were capable to deliver. So i started playing all kind of games with deep and strong stories, etc. Then my brother found a new game that just mesmerized him. And me. That game was Dragon age Origins. Since there, all my attention was on the RPG gendre but always looking for experiences similar to what Bioware delivered. Fan since then, played all their games and expanded to RPG in general. The witcher franchise, Dark souls, Diablo, Bethesda games, and a long etc. The only console i had was the PS1, then moved to PC cause all the beautiful anarchy in his community. Free (well, not entirely, but you know what i mean) of big companies leashes, a community always helping and making extra games from the existing vanilla ones, with graphics vanguards, innovative ideas, and a long list again. So, here i am.

Nowadays i have a a not really great rig but well, is what i have for now. Upgrading soon i hope.

Aaand... that´s it? Idk, i feel like i wrote a lot but didn´t introduce properly. Well, we´ll get to know each other i guess, so, just glad to be part of the sect  :D

Love and peace to all of you! Just leaving this here cause Cormac McCarthy is my favourite US writer now and this movie was at the level of the book and cause random stuff is just cool
