I know, right? Man you should have seen the kerfuffle of ruffled feathers on the Absolute Write forum when that thing came out lol! But yeah, started as a free online read on some Twilight FanFic site, got super popular, so some small cafe press (I think it was an Aussie one from memory) got involved...can't recall if they outright published it or if the deal fell through and someone else grabbed it...
I dunno, but it took off like nothing on earth either way. Haven't read it myself, and won't be reading it because from all reliable reports it is the literary equivalent of DA:I ...unreadable if you have standards! lol!
Same thing happened to a lesser extent with Captive Prince (which I have read) started out online, got popular and then Penguin picked it up for good $$.
Putting your work up for free is a reasonable option if you want to get published it seems. 
So, do I wipe my ED save with my pitifully crippled ship and not enoguh $$ to fix it and start again, or struggle on and try to limp around until I earn enough credits to mend it?
