it only needs a dual core CPU to run it :)

How could you not run that maxed out ?

dual core was for minimum settings,  the higher settings require quad core and a better video card then I had at the time. I was also running ENB for it.

You can always run chkdsk

Or right click on the drive goto tools select check now and if it is your c drive your system will reboot and it will check the drive for maybe 5 to 30 minutes and it will give you a report :-)

if you got bad sectors that drive is finished

Bad sectors are like rabbits , it starts with one and before you know it you got 200 of them :-(

Every drive has the occasional defects in manufacturing. These defects prevent reading/writing to a sector. As a way to combat this, the sectors that are flagged as damaged are moved, or reallocated.

As every drive series is different, sector reallocation is a poor indicator of drive health. Some large drives don't have enough data (user submitted records of "good" drive information), so they default to the danger readings of much smaller drives.

In short, you should worry if reallocated sectors is increasing consistently. If the number is constant after several boots, then it isn't a problem. If it increases consistently then you should be worried.

I´ll try that one out. Is weird cause today was giving me the error and not starting and i just changed the SATA wire or however is called and it started okay. But then i ran the Crystal thingy and said that. Weird.

Aww, thanks a lot. He is like he was yesterday, no changes so far. One only thing he had some breathing problem but it was "normal", so... just that, keep waiting. This is more helpful for me than the HDD stuff, no worries.

You are amazing. Is like teaching how this stuff works to a dummy. And he can understand it, lol. Thanks, i´ll keep tracking the number of rellocates or any other issue.

Love you guys always there for the community, here more, hugs

Unless it is a bad sector on the disk that cannot be moved has in the read write head damaging the platters in the drive then those bad sectors cannot be moved

But there are programs who will mark it as bad and skip over it :-)

So it is not all that bad, but bad sectors is not a good thing

It is unfortunately the very nature of mechanical drives thanks to it's platters and read/write heads.  As long as it doesn't keep spreading like MG was saying, it should be fine. I know my 250 gig HD has some bad sectors but runs well still and it's been a few years already.  You have plenty of tech savvy people here if you ever need advice so don't panic. :)

I generally use my dropbox account to link it here.  I imagine Google drive will work just as well.

The images are on my hard drive :-)

I just captured them :-)

I do not use Google drive

I will email them to you Peregrinus and you can post them

Now on some of them the text is slightly blurry because it changes so fast as you press capture the text changes
