The open expanses of the western areas (oasis, plains, the other desert place) just smack of borderlands, the geog, the critters, super fast respawn,...  BW should have gotten Jesper Kyd for the tracks for those.

No FFS Bordelands was fun, with sarcastic, violent humour all over it. Almost every line in dialogs mocks someone or something. It is a crazy world of total freedom, you see?

 

And DA:I is just a boring time consumer, while it couldbe hell of a lot more.

True that, and very well put.  I got many playthoughs in Borderlands and might not even finish one in DAI before descending into cheatville.

I don't find any similarities (aside from loot RNG.)

 

I met 2 people in Borderlands in the first zone, before I stopped playing. In DA:I, the world feels populated.

Some aspects kind of reminded me of bits of Red Dead Redemption (the desert, the mounts, etc.). I might have had more fun in DAI if I could play Texas Hold 'em in Shyhold.
