Cole just said something which makes me question the existence of spirits of wisdom.
He said: "Spirits are. They just... are. Most of them sense something that interests them and stick to it. They don't remember much. It keeps them pure, but it also keeps them from learning, from growing. I wanted to help people, but I only knew enough to do it in the simplest way."
"The forgetting was for both sides. They weren't frightened by me, and I wasn't hurt by them."
Now, as far as I'm concerned, wisdom comes from the joining of experience with knowledge. Knowledge alone can have someone make the same bad choices over and over again if he can't learn anything from the first mistake.
Cole gains some insight into how people feel through mind-reading... and he still has to make them forget sometimes and try again. So how would a spirit of wisdom become wise if he keeps erasing the previous choices?
And if the spirits of wisdom don't forget... doesn't that mean that they become tainted by human emotions and eventually turn into demons?
Solas on the other hand is certain that his friend was a spirit of wisdom. One which may re-form, at some point, even if it won't have its old memories. So how exactly are spirits of wisdom formed? What gives them wisdom? Simple knowledge? Having the perceptions of hundreds of souls?
What's your take on this?
