So was there anything you wish was still in the game from the beta and alpha gameplay?

A lot of people seem to feel as if from the things they showed at PAX or E3 it seems like a different game to them in some aspecs.

So are there things you saw before that you still wish was in the game?

For me its the Mages attack animation where the bolts use to come out of their hands instead of the staff, I thought that really showed how mages could be very dangerous without a staff to use as a conduit. It also allowed them to reposition your self just as archers do.

An the camera angle they use to have. It felt as if it put you more into the combat than before.

Well I love the game for what it is now. That being said if there's one thing I want, it's proper cutscenes for side quests in areas. There are a ton of great side quests but the lack of cinematic cutscene is very hindering. Honestly kills the engagement one has with the game. Why wasn't conversing with the mayor of crestwood a cinematic cutscene? What about Imshael? Or the Dalish clan? Or worst of all, the prebattle conversation with companions, at least with Josephine. She was giving you an extremely warm goodbye and it was a touching scene but the no cutscene KILLED it for me. It makes the conversations feel insignificant, when they're actually not.

EDIT: Fail English.

I didn't really watch footage of the beta version of this game, but I hear alot of people talking about that Crestwood footage that was cut. I heard it would've been pretty neat.

The spell animations. God, look at that sexy ice-mine frozen effect.

And choosing how we want to use our keeps would have been cool aswell.

i totally agree with you. I was very mad that the cutscene with Varric Cassandra and Vivienne never happened lol. I loved that one so much. I can only think te only reason why was because there were many combination of party memebers that you could bring and they wanted everyone to have a part in party cutscence and it might have been to much work. But i really would have loved to have more. And the whole crestwood event in gerneal coudl haev at least happened.

OMG YES REMEBER HOW FIRESTORM USE TO LOOK LIKE. Or the one spell Ice Burst that would freeze everyone in a certian areas. An yes the ice from the beta and aplha looked really amazing I liked the spiked they had.

Yea they also really dropped the ball on the keeps. they talked about them so much but we hardly use keeps and if anythign you only get a keep if it was kinda a part of the main quest or a big side one.

The Crestwood mission. Not that were anything wrong with the mission in Crestwood now, but it just would have made a more difficult choice to make as a player.

Heres a youtube video on some alpha gameplay. You can clearly see how many changes the game went through just from this. Did they go in the right direction? for me its a no I think if they continued on this path a lot more people would have been happier with the game.

I like the current Crestwood event, a lot. Especially that after you fix things the environment changes. It just needed to be a cinematic experience.

Actually Keeps serve as a base of some sort, you get access to side quests, war table missions and goods- as intended. The one thing they decided to cut out was giving you the option to choose what you want your keep to specialize in- secrets, military or trade.

Most def. That whole mission had so many choices you had to make that effected your party memebers your inquistion and crestwood as a whole. Really wish they had keep that.

The current Crestwood is cool yea but it would have been so much more impacting if they keep going in the direction they were headed.

An true but thats what they mainly pushed from the start with keeps. Most people just go back to skyhold for things, but they really made a push for people to customize their keeps to reflect how they wanted their inquistion to be not just on the outside but what goes on in the inside as well.

I do not mean anything, but 'so many choices'? It only had one choice. You can very much choose not to do Still Waters and doom Crestwood if you want to you know.

I'm pretty sure customizing what your keeps look like was never a plan, again, it was just deciding between your 3 specializations.

I wonder how different the game would be if they'd stuck to humans only and focused on other things instead of adding the other races.

I wish they would have left the tactical combat in.   I mean, I love the game, but I wish it would have stayed a bit more in the tactical combat genre.

What are you talking about there were many choices in that gameplay. First you could choose what your soldiers did on the field of battle and not just from the war table. From that you coudl pick if they help each other, go back home, or help Crestwood.

After that you had the choice wether or not to help the Village yourself after seeing it get attacked. An since they didnt help Crestwood we dont know how may other things you could have did while helping the village.

This also cause Varrice to cleraly dissagree with you. An it didnt take a champion quest to get something like this.

Minimizing the role of keeps makes them feel pointless. Sure, they give access to quick little side missions that give you a bit of Inquisition power, but that's a cheap commodity so those missions are wholly unnecessary and feel entirely pointless. What else do keeps give you? Useless shops and occasional quick access to crafting? They clearly cut a lot of keep content, not just designating how each keep would function.

?.? Did you not watch any of their early game promotions they showed about 3 different ways a keep could look and change depending on what you wanted the keep to specilize in which would then change the way the keep would look.

Yea Im with you fully. For something they pushed for very early on in their announcement of the game they sure didnt deliver all that much. I would have loved a keep that would have studied magic and we could see mainly mages walking about and maybe the head of the keep would give you like new staffs or maybe even help you learn differnet spells.

Yea I think the AI for one would have helped with this a lot. If they keep the AI like it was in DA2 things could run a whole lot smoother.

U just said that changing the way the keeps look was never a option even though it actaully was. Once you would pick what the keep did from those 3 the look of the keep would then change.

You're wrong. They showed off keep customization in several videos/events. The keep in the Hissing Wastes specifically was shown as customizable several times.

I wondered that too. But I do like the choice of not being just human again. But I feel like if we only could be human then they game would look a lot more like how it did in the alpha and beta gameplay most def. And more than likely would have more racial problems in the game so that even though we aren't able to be a elf or qunari we still see and and can help fix the problems within the race and it place in the world.

I just want the mages to go back to the first basic attack animation. They were so much better.
