Cole's language is often reminiscent of Hopkins' poetry. He uses alliteration and assonance a lot. He seems also to be a personification of inscape and instress, concepts developed by Hopkins to describe the quiddity of things.

It's beautifully written and realised. I was wondering who wrote Cole, and whether they've ever indicated that Hopkins was an inspiration.

Patrick Weekes wrote Cole. I can't answer your second question though.

While I'm not sure Mr. Weekes ever directly referenced Hopkins as an inspiration, it seems to me he has a healthy appreciation of poetry and utilizes it to some degree. The way Solas speaks on occasion comes to mind, since he sometimes adopts the same meter as Cohen's Hallelujah. So it's possible.

Funnily enough, I also thought about Hopkins with Cole.
