Why do we have an entire range of armour upgrades that the only function is to increase bleed when you get hit?

I can't see any positive benefit from using them or am I missing something?  I thought maybe I was reading it wrong and it caused bleeding on a enemy that hit you, but when I attached it the defence bar turned red.

I was under the impression that it would inflict bleeding (either % to proc or % of damage, who knows?) when you got hit by something. Buttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt bleeding doesn't work so it doesn't matter.

It sunders armor, but it doesn't do any DoT. So yeah, its broken.

Safe to presume it sunders the enemies armor, correct?

If so, thats just a weird application.  Attach stuff to your armor that sunders enemies' in combat.

Still, better than the reverse I guess.

Well, at least it does no harm and can be replaced at any time. I just salvage them all right away. Also, weapons have focus gain enchantment. Bioware pls fix.

I am astonished on the amount of stuff that just does not work in DA:I. It's almost incomprehensible.

I had generally avoided bleeding bonuses, just because they seemed less useful when compared to others. Now that I've read this, I'm glad to know what they actually do.

If Bleed worked in the fashion to which I always have seen it applied, I would love a lot more weapons. Essentially the percent should be how much of base weapon damage dealt over a short time, say like 5 seconds, and stacks. So the greataxe Slayer would have an immense amount of potential with a 30% bleed stat, dealing an additional 30% weapon damage over 5 seconds.

Bleed status was something I'd seen most commonly on daggers, as multiple rapid hits with bleed dagger would not kill the enemy, but the massive amount of stacked bleeds would. It was actually a fun mechanics I rather enjoyed in playing Sapper (DOT) roles.

I was really sad when I found out bleed was completely broken, as "bleed" to me is not "sunder". Those should be completely different, even if Bioware for some reason thought "bleed" should be "sunder" in this game deliberately.
