You can't compare representation for lifestyle choices to representation for sexual/ethnic minorities. Being vegan is way more of a lifestyle choice than not having sex until marriage is. We haven't had a single vegan in the DA universe, there hasn't even been a vegetarian. Yet I never see people complaining about the lack of vegan representation. Why? Because you don't get to demand representation for something that is clearly a lifestyle choice.

When talking to a Morrigan in DAI who is still with the Warden, there's a dialogue option to say "You have a husband?" What you actually say if you pick that option is "I didn't think you were the type to settle down" or words to that effect. So it's possible the Wardn and Morrigan could be married. Alistair and the Warden can definitely get married. Someone mentioned the chaste Sebastien marrige. So marriage is definitely a thing in DA.

I am not comparing the two. I am comparing my sexuality to the sexualities they show and I am comparing my lifestyle choice to the lifestyle choice they show. Two different comparisons.

That's not what I've seen. You have a tendency to be salty over the fact that one of the reasons why we can't have marriage is because they feel like it would be unfair to the s/s relationships. And you keep bringing it up together with the lack of demisexual representation in a way that sound like you're comparing them. The whole "My sexuality isn't represented so they should compensate by giving me my lifestyle as a playable choice" shtick definitely sounds like you're comparing them. Just look at this:
So in order to have s/s content, my lifestyle gets singled out. Add that to me still not having any full true options of my sexuality and yeah this seems fair.
How is that not comparing the issues?

All this talk about same sex marriage and yadya in thedas just makes me think now more than ever that Bioware will never bother with marriage at all. Because the fans will no doubt ****** and moan about something and ruin the whole thing.
So nevermind, **** it. Don't even bother for the love of God, please.

To be fair, fans do that for about almost literally everything.

Indeed, but this would be far worse if everyone's sexuality or whatever didn't get a wedding chance.
"Why can't my pansexual inquisitor marry Iron Bull!
No I don't care it goes against his culture! You're pandering to straights!"

I see what you mean. That's why I think s/s marriage should be in too. We know there are people in Thedas who marry solely for love and on the meta side of it it lets Bioware have another chance to show how much for equity they are by being a game company that has it.

WTF? So people want a fictional world based on medieval Europe to have same sex marriages or else they'll be pissed? What's next on the anachronism train? People upset there's no tanks and guns?
There are guns, actually. Well, cannons. The Qun has them.

I just wanted to throw in FFXIV ARR has amazing marriage support.. it's got like additional cutscenes/outfits/all kinds of things to make it feel real. I think it's pretty popular.
So even if DA doesn't have it maybe worth checking out some other games...

I actually think its an interesting concept at least. You also forgot to list the fact that your DA:O character marries Morrigan by Inquisition if you romanced her in DA:O and went through the mirror with her.
Personally I could take it or leave it but if it gets put into the game like the OGB is in Inquisition they I'd like it. Maybe make it so your characters for the previous games get married and/or had kids ok. It won't really work for the current game because you need a few years to pass while the games being played for the kids to have any real impact in the games.
They could take a page out of Fable's and DA2's book and jump a couple of years in between chapters.

Well, considering in both DA:I and DA:O you are in the middle of a war, planning a wedding wouldn't exactly be at the top of most character's priorities. The romances in these circumstances are portrayed as being pretty spontaneous or unexpected as it is too. I'm sure after the war (and game essentially) is over, there are plenty of characters that would be interested in getting married, such as Cullen, Cassandra, Josie, etc.

Despite the "you have a husband?" line, I'm fairly certain that Morrigan and the Warden aren't actually married in the legal sense - together and having a family relationship, sure - but I don't see Morrigan wanting to go into some magistrate's office to make it legal, do you?. You also forgot to list the fact that your DA:O character marries Morrigan by Inquisition if you romanced her in DA:O and went through the mirror with her.
.
Aside from that, my through-the-mirror Warden was already married to Anora, so I don't think they'd complicate things by making him a bigamist rather than just a noble who married for politics and had his real family on the side.

This.... Morrigan states that it's 'not as domestic' as the inquisitor pictures it. I cannot image Morrigan submitting to anything that is recognized as marriage with respect to the adrastian form of it..... still, for the Romanced Morrigan>Performed the Dark Ritual>Went through the eluvian Warden, there is the satisfying result that if they are not 'married' in the institutional sense, they seem like a whacky old married couple anyway. +10... 2 bad asses married (or not) with their own agenda's... yet, a definitive couple none the less.

When the topic of marriage in Thedas pops up, I just think of the Avvar. They have the woman sing a chant or something to one god and the man ties as many knots as he can before the song ends. The number of knots is the number of years they will be married... or something, I haven't read the codex in a long time.
I would really like to see more of the human tribes, not just the crazy scouts we have to kill.
Anyway, there are plenty of marriages around the player, and the HoF can marry, however I don't see the point of a big wedding unless it is tied to the plot. A quick exchange of personal vows would be alright, or a quick visit to a chantry or something. Still, with all the craziness that was happening in DA:I and DA:O, I don't see much downtime for a wedding or whatever. DA2 had downtime between acts.
I wouldn't care either way if they added more romance content or not... I just hope they don't gut the main story any more.

It would make a storyline end on a high note. Have a wedding at the end, with the main character being a guest or the bride/groom.

I'm guessing we'll see less marriage in games rather than more as the years go on. Many people are "eww marriage" and "eww children" about the idea. I'd like it if marriage were in the game though. I don't expect them to show the ceremony or anything, but an engagement at least would be nice.

Meh. I don't see the point of including a marriage cutscene. It's not like the relationship is less serious or worth less just because the couple isn't married, and it's not like the characters will be happier off after they're married than they are before. Since the scene would just be there to appear romantic and to show off the protagonist or his LI in a pretty dress, I'd prefer that resources were spent on something else.
Marriage and potential spawning should be kept to headcanon, imo.

So...Dragons, magic, mind-controlling lyrium, demigods, the Fade, all that's ok, but same sex marriage- nooooo, that's too unrealistic?

The writers enjoy brutal misery too much to enable the happily-ever-after a marriage would imply.
