this might sound like a stupid question but a weapon with a lower dps but higher level is better than a weapon with a higher dps but lower level. I have this weapon its purple its 203 dps. but its level 11. but I have a weapon that's level 15 at 183 dps. does it make a difference. I did play with them both but im not sure what is better.

The weapon level doesn't do anything. The dps statistic does. It literally tells you how much damage per second you dish out using that weapon.

So unless the level 15 weapon has some really good bonuses above and beyond what the level 11 weapon has, just go by the DPS.

One problem, I think, in this game is that many, perhaps most found items (even purple ones) are underpowered for the level requirement they have. By the time you are high enough level to use them, you can easily craft something significantly better. If level requirements were either removed totally, or at least dropped by two levels across the board, then found items, and items you receive as rewards would actually feel useful things to get. As it is, at least 90% of blue and purple items, either found or received as reward, go to the "valuables" immediately.

thanks for the reply. another question is the focus. what is that. how do you activiate it or use it. is it one of the special moves?

Sorry, only just noticed this reply.

At a certain point in the story, you get your first focus ability, and it is explained then. Until that, don't worry about it - you can't use it for anything before that specific point in the story, where a new, focus-using ability is introduced.
