This related game looks cool, but I don't have it:

These wedding episodes are really funny! That geezer is really enjoying that political wedding!

And I made this Gif to show Zilong's awesomeness:

Zilong1522.gif

I think I need to compress gifs more than this to be under 1MB.

Grew up playing Romance of the three kingdoms 7+8 and the earlier Dynasty Warriors. I lived pretty close to Chinatown, NYC at the time and became obsessed with Chinese culture for a while because of those games lol. Surprisingly i've never actually read Luo Guanzhong's novel.

They should really translate the ROTK games and bring them to PC on steam with the PUK. I mean some pretty crazy stuff gets sold nowadays i think they would actually do quite well. They can even steal the fan translations found on the web to minimize the work ;)

I dropped the novel myself. Was even more romanticized than the show, and villainized Cao Cao's portrayal too much for my taste.

So yeah, prefer the show over the book.

The Melodrama Liu Bei caused in Wu and Jing in episodes 52-56 was really amusing!

HAH! Yeah, loved that moment. Bei gave zero f*ck during the weeding, and their reactions were just priceless.

This is the first time I've heard of this, will definitely put this in my must-watch list.

Does a Diaochan character make an appearance in the series? I love her role in RoTK in how she played Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo.

I'm a huge DW fan and have played through the series, 7 being my latest. Wei and its officers would be my favorite kingdom, especiall Cao Cao <3.

That is interesting. I will still probably check out the novel at some point just to see what it's all about.

In the game there was certain names you could use when creating a character that would give you semi-OP stats to play with. Jet Li was one of the cheat code names.

I'm going to be checking out this show this weekend. Also when it comes to DW i would say Wei was my second favorite. I always like Wu the best with Sun Jian, then Sun Ce and Zhou Yu's awesomeness until that ends tragically and than you got Sun Quan and the sister who's name i can never remember. Shu got annoying for me with the constant reminder that they were oath brothers, they should have just all married each other lol.

Definitely. Diaochan is quite heavily featured in the first episodes. Haven't played the DW series, but if you love Cao Cao in them you are definitely gonna love him in this series. He is awesome!

I was partial to the theme that played when you were in Chang'an in 7(?) I think. I always tried to get the officer I was playing stationed there.

I recall Robert E Lee was one of those names, and I think Uylsse Grant was too.

Sun Shangxiang is the name.

Shu was always annoying with Liu  Bei's insistence on helping "the people". Ever since Dark Knight Rises I just imagine him talking in Bane's voice whenever he mentions them. Sima Yi and Cao Cao have always been my favorite characters in those games anyways.

Spoiler

The funny thing is, around 200-250AD there is someone called Jumong in Korea fighting to free north part of Korea from Han!

I only just heard of this Paradise, To those watching or yet to watch the series just know this: Cao Cao and Sima Yi are the most badass awesome mofos in the entire series and nobody compares to them. Also this show is one of the best series around and easily puts the commonly loved Game of Thrones to shame. At first I thought reading subtitles for 90 odd episodes would be an absolute pain since I normally find them so as they distract me from fully absorbing whats happening but trust me its totally worth it in this case.
To those who dispute this please inform me so I can mark you as a lying heretic and mark you for exterminatus.

Yeah the book series is a bit to romanticized for my taste tbh, Its not exactly my cup of tea.

At last someone who shares my views! Welcome! Welcome! Make yourself comfortable.

Yes, the show is truly a masterpiece, if I might be so bold. Flaws like any TV show are prominent, but they are minor ones in the grand set up that the show accomplishes. Cao Cao is indeed phenomenal, and one of my favorite historical figures in general. His vision of what a leader should be are interesting and educational.

Also didn't bother with the novel, since not only did it portray Cao Cao as a villain but it is even more romanticized than the show.

Something tells me we have mutual views on more than awesome Three Kingdoms characters, judging by your avatar of that magnificent bastard David Xanatos

There is not many Chinese related games I think, specially RPGs.

Just that Romance of Three Kingdoms games, Dynasty Warriors series and Jade Empire.

Watched till Episode 71 already. The Great War is getting very interesting, maybe the biggest war after (Yuan Shao - Cao Cao) war and Red Cliff war.

So many cool ministers and generals perished because of illness, war or execution. It's very sad...
