Now during my first playthrough in DA2 I sorta got ahead of myself , near around act 3 I really got impatient cause my pre-order of Inquistion came into the mail and I was just starting Act 3.

Just looking at the case for Inquistion was so hard , I've been wanting to play it ever since I saw it (I just needed to finish DA2 for the first time so I can get to it).

I ended up rushing through Act 3 in DA2 skipping dialogues , switching difficulty from Nightmare to casual and just skipping the DLC all together. That might have not been the best plan in hindsight.

I love DA series , and although it be annoying I wouldn't hate the idea of playing DA2 again. I get to learn a bit of back story of...well him and other things Inquistion has to offer.

or you could just keep playing DA2 and forget about DAI for at least next 4 months.

The miscellaneous dialogs in DA2 are not important. You finished it, picked a side, saw the ending, and all that. You're all set.

BUT, I do recommend that you play through the Legacy DLC. You can install it, load up DA2 and do a post-game play because you are in the Amell mansion. Just run up the stairs and click the statue thing.

I finished DA2....did you not read?

I said I skipped through everything in Act 3 =_= that's why I'm saying should I do a 2nd playthrough or move onto DAI.

hmm and here i thought that "to do a 2nd playthrough" could mean "keep playing DA2". because you know... it's the same.

Well that's your fault for just assuming things.

heh....You think it would be that easy but , I deleted that file as soon as I could play DAI. (free some space you know heh....v.v) my fault there.

You can play Legacy in Act 1. It might be somewhat more difficult because of the lack of skills, but it shouldn't be too bad.

I did what you did, I got DA: Inquisition for Christmas and then bought the first two games after that because I didn't want to miss any of the story line.

So, I bought Origins first, and loved it so much I bought DA2.  DA2 was different, but i came around to liking it just as much as Origins, but in a different way.  The combat is very visceral and the animations are amazing.

And to your point about dropping the game for Inquisition, I would say not until you've played Mark of the Assasin.  That is a special piece of gaming, imho.

Problem with DA2 is that very little of import happens in it.  It was a fun game, but too narrowly focused and inconsequential.  The only reason I'd force myself to go back (unless you really want to) is for character interactions, or if you skipped past the game cutscenes.  Personally, I enjoyed the game for it's character interactions alone, as nothing else in the game really had me invested.

As for DLC, "Assassin (Tallis)" was a fun questline, but ultimately pointless.  Still, it only took me 2 hours (if that).  "Legacy" carries on into Inquisition, but they do a good job explaining what happens even without playing "Legacy."  I came to a realization a long time ago that one should never force themselves to play anything, even if it's something they would otherwise like.  Better to go back to it when you are in the mood, even if it means your backlog takes years to catch up.

Play Inquisition.

As much as it is killing me, I am only doing each game once before continuing to the next game. Whatever mistakes I made, I made and live with. I started playing Origins about a week before Inquisition came so it wasn't that much temptation for me.

I feel like it makes the game feel very storylike.

And as soon as I'm done with Inquisition I'm going to replay the entire series again. ^_^ So excited seeing as Inquisition is actually my least favorite game in the series.

This is pretty much why I'm replaying DA2. I like the character interactions. I could be wrong, but it feels like there is a crapload more dialog in this game than in DAI. Also, I just like being in the position of some random refugee adventurer making a name for himself in Kirkwall, engaging in a small episodic quests, rather than being The Savior of [Insert Land]!!!.

That's strange as foir me it's the other way around Inquisition is my favourite. I've only done 1 plasythrough of Inquisition so far but I found it probably the most enjoyable experience of all of them. I do like Origins and DA2 as well but I do think with Inquisition they really came good.

I did the same thing but with Origins but then that game has always been hard for me to get to grips with as I've never cracked it. It's not for the want of trying though as I have. It's mostly because I struggled to really understand the game mechanics. I'm moer familiar with how they work now that I have the strategy guide so I'm hopeful that I will eventually correct this as I think the game is definitely worth it just as the whole series is. On my last playthrough of Origins though it was a mistake I made rather than misunderstanding the mechanics as I think I took the dwarf level on earlier than I should have plus I hadn't unlocked any specializations and I think I'd have had it easier if I had waited till I had levelled up more as well. It took me a better part of a week to make it as far as I did so I abandoned the playthrough, as I realised the only way to correct my mistakes would be to start all over again. With DAI already waiting in the wings I think it's understandable why I didn't want to do that given I hadn't even touched Inquisition then other than to install it on my system. I do plan on going back in and do Origins properly though once I've finished my latest Mass Effect playthrough that I have on the go.
