Now BioWare, I haven't said much of anything about DA:I (or much about anything at all since quitting ME3MP in...August or something), but I have to say something about this.

 

Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts is a stupid mission. And on top of it being all around awful and boring, it offers very little story-wise, rewards-wise, or time-wise. As a result, this mission is a 4 hour (at minimum) filler episode from Lifestyles of the Rich & The Famous.

 

Hope any and all DLC you plan are nothing like this (aka boring) and also hope this is not a sign of things to come.

What I liked was the conversations though, everything else I could have done without especially the halla statue collecting as a limited resource.  However, I don't know if I would have liked the conversations as much if I never read the Masked Empire.

The first time I did it, it was new and fun, so it still had shock value. Might of taken me 1-2 hours. But afterwards, after I knew the mission, it was just a piece of cake, you can be in and out in no time if you really just wanna skip through it.

I liked Wicked. Not much combat is a huge plus for me. If the entire mission was no combat I would have been even happier.  It sucks that being clever is just "hit the middle option" but other than that and the stupid Halla statues, it was great. I would imagine that if you wanted to find all the statues, coins et al it would be a tedious nightmare.

 

You also get to actually have a choice that isn't all rainbows and sunshine.

Hated it but for different reasons.

 

I really needed to tell the filthy Orlesians about themselves. About their games, their masks, and their atrocious accents. It's a damned crime that I couldn't at least set Sera loose and let her do her thing while denying my involvement.

I actually like the Wicked quest. It's offering us something new that we don't always see in a game. The dancing with Flor is amazing, especially when you're playing the game in your words.

That mission was badly done.
It did Briala, Celene and Gaspard dirty.
It wasted Vivianne, a character crafted to shine in this very scenario.

For a non combative mission, it doesn't offer anything interesting to do. Limited Halla statues, seriously?! Oh no, I can only open so many doors...

How about more puzzles and solving problems through conversation, that will depend on your perks/race/gender/magextemplar decision. Anything.

Worst of all, it has no impact in this game, not even this mission since the decision is made in the end and we all know won't affect the next one.

Not everyone enjoys every quest equally.

Some people would have liked it to be even more complex to enjoy 'the game'.

For the OP this was clearly less enjoyable, ok.

BioWare have created, 'party quests' before (ME2's Stolen Memory, ME3's Citadel and DA2's MoTA), I like the diversion personally.

 

I would have been open to treating this thread more seriously and debating the quest further.

 

But with the OP's choice of thread title: 'How To: Waste Time the BioWare Way'

this just looks like yet another whining troll thread.

It was a bit dissapointing. I expected a better execution, especially after knowing the prologue after having read the masked empire.  But imo still one of the best quests in the game. (liked it a lot)
