Dragon Age Keep ‏@DragonAgeKeep

You may experience trouble exporting a world state when starting a new game in DA:I. We are investigating the issue & will tweet updates.

Has to be said, the Keep team are usually pretty responsive.

My pre-patch crafted prowler armor is fine, but the shield does show the '0' armor value.

I think that's just a visual bug. New crafts for me have the right #

For those affected it definitely is not just a visual bug. Armor values drop when you equip one of these shields. This happens because the standard-shield the game gives you when you down equip your own shield has an armor value higher than 0.

This is an actual stat-bug.

I was honestly too lazy to do the whole math, I don't even have an ongoing pre-ending PT right now. All I know is that I've got Blackwall wearing his 'zero' shield.

Did not have much time to test the MP, but I had not seen the Key Bug today. Prestige and achieves seemed broken though (PC).

How are people finding the banter in Patch 3? I'm hearing more reports about people either getting very little banter or none at all...

Seems unchanged, which is fine by me. It's definitely still random (I heard banter, reloaded to a save just prior, and heard no banter for the next 20 or so minutes, at which point I quit to do other things).

My companions have been using the silent treatment on me since I updated. Methinks they didn't approve of the patch.

To be honest, I haven't noticed anything different with the banter...

Oh dear, what a lot of tears.

BioWare hardly hype up patch announcements, little was said until it was ready.

If a save corrupts, waiting for a magic wand is not an answer.

It requires reloading, going back to a prior save, or checking the troubleshooting forums.
There are recommendations for some of those issues elsewhere in this thread.

Evaluating a patch requires a little perspective.

Evaluating a patch requires our quality assurance department.

Fixed that for you.

Yes, started a new game just prior to the patch, very little banter so far compared to previous playthroughs:/

Are you serious? A save shouldn't corrupt in this dying age. Only under very critical is that acceptable. No piece of software should be corrupting your data under any circumstances. Especially since we are dealing with persistent data.

Quality assurance did a horrendous job this time around. I like bioware but if I don't tell them, they will never get my honest feedback(whether they need it or not is up to them).

This patch seems very rushed, and I question the credibility of their code base if changing one part of the system can have these effects. Actually, I probably won't expect much because some of their MP ME3 code is just unclean. They should take care of their product and make sure it is thoroughly tested. They can spend money on minor things, why not testing? I would suspend all development until I get the bugs ironed out but that probably won't happen cause bioware is a company and they would rather remove DLC when the hype is still there.

I'm gonna pass this patch. I don't see any fixes that interest me, and not very fond of those influence/gold fixes.

Lucky you have a choice... :(

Heard there were Sylvari issues in Tyria, guess I'll be looking into that sooner rather than later.

The walk toggle problem was caused by Origin game properties for me, the ones that remove the FPS lock, like

-GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99 -GameTime.MaxSimFps 59.99 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 59.99+

Clearing the game properties removed the problem, and the toggle works normally.

Hmm, but without them the cutscenes are back to 30 fps? Sounds like a bug if game properties messes it up.

the saves i try to load, freeze up while loading.

and the autosaves are corrupt

So basically my 60 hour character is locked away until it get fixed

been to troubleshooting forums nothing helps.

from removing patches and loading, to adding only the first patch and WAITING with constant unisntalling and reinstalling as i add patches one by one manually.

k thanks for the sympathy because your game is 100% fine and you didnt waste 60 hours just to spent 4-5 hours on troubleshooting advice that didnt work.

My assessment is that this patch was clearly not ready to come out. It looks like they attempted to fix the bugs without a practical testing plan.

Advice : don't develop DLC but work on cleaning your product first. Once it is polished for the most part, develop.

Anyone has a brief slow mo effect in battle now? It started right after patching. Perhaps a nvidia issue? I've a GTX970.

No banter at all for me.

Okay, thanks for the feedback on the Banter post-patch. It's looking like quite a few are having issues.

For those having Banter issues, they're trying to isolate the issue over on the Help Forum: http://answers.ea.co...257832#U4257832

Here's what they're asking...

Heya everyone,

The studio is investigating this issue and would really appreciate the following information:

  1. What Platform are you playing the game on? If PC, can you provide a DxDiag?
  2. What areas have you been in when the problem was reported? Have you already entered the Hinterlands? Are you mostly spending time on Critical Path plots?
  3. What is the the Race/Class/Gender combination of your Inquisitor?
  4. What followers are you using at the time?
  5. How would you describe your play-style? How are you moving around in areas? For example, are you using the mount? Are you playing a mage and using Blink to move around areas?
  6. Are you engaging in regular combat? (Are you in combat every 30 seconds?) Are you playing in heavy-combat zones where non-player factions are fighting each other?
  7. How many hours have you spent in your current playthrough? (the one you are experiencing the banter issues in)
  8. Where do you expect banter to be firing?

If anyone has any experience with video capture, we would greatly appreciate that as well. We are looking for the following:

  1. With three followers, idle in a safe area in an exploration zone. Be away from any combat including enemy factions who are fighting each other. A good place to do this would be right outside of the first Inquisition Camp in the Hinterlands. You must ensure that no combat is nearby for this test to be valid.
  2. Enable subtitles
  3. Idle for 30 minutes while running video capture – banter should be heard at least once. Alternately, you could idle for 60 minutes – banter should fire at least twice.
  4. Upload your video and share the link with us here.

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, please follow the steps below:

1.  Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
2.  You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
3.  Type dxdiag in the text field
4.  Click OK
5.  If your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows, click the button Run 64-bit DXDIAG (see screenshot below)
6.  If your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows, that button will not be available

0EME0000000PHPJ.jpg

7.  Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
8.  Save this text file to your Desktop if possible
9. Open the text file, select all the text inside (Ctrl + A) and copy it (Ctrl +C).
10. Go to http://hastebin.com/, paste the contents of your DXDiag inside (Ctrl+V) and click Save on the webpage (Ctrl+S).
11. Copy the link of the page in your post, along with a precise description of your issue.

For those having issues, let's try and help them out...

Yep, Banter gone for me too. It was fine, sometimes once or twice an hour before, sometimes every five minutes. Now it doesn't happen at all and that's in 4 hours of play. :( Then they "fixed" exploits that didn't need fixed. SO you can dupe materials and get max perks easily is SP - so what maybe we don't want to burn mats for perks doing those requisitions and, we shouldn't have to grind for hours to get them.

Not like this game can be easily modded to put the exploits back that way.

If you don't want to cheat, you don't have to but now, those that would rather not grind for hours have to do so anyway.

And the patch was forced, it wasn't optional to patch now. Tried uninstalling, didn't work, still told me I had to go online and update before I could play.

Thanks again to the folks willing to serve as guinea pigs (even the unfortunate and unwilling ones) in downloading patch 3.

When I read about some of the issues experienced by users here and elsewhere, I unplugged my ethernet cable before turning my desktop on when I got home and checked Origin again to ensure that auto-updates were turned off.  Just in case it decided to ignore that setting again like it did with patch 2 (because EA apparently doesn't care what its players say they want in terms of configuration options), I made sure it was set to offline mode before reconnecting my cable.
