Anyone has a brief slow mo effect in battle now? It started right after patching. Perhaps a nvidia issue? I've a GTX970.
So it isn't supposed to happen? ![]()
I've been having those since forever. With a GTX 660.

Two months.....two months and I still can't play as a Qunari archer.

Yep, Banter gone for me too. It was fine, sometimes once or twice an hour before, sometimes every five minutes. Now it doesn't happen at all and that's in 4 hours of play.
Then they "fixed" exploits that didn't need fixed. SO you can dupe materials and get max perks easily is SP - so what maybe we don't want to burn mats for perks doing those requisitions and, we shouldn't have to grind for hours to get them.
Not like this game can be easily modded to put the exploits back that way.
If you don't want to cheat, you don't have to but now, those that would rather not grind for hours have to do so anyway.
And the patch was forced, it wasn't optional to patch now. Tried uninstalling, didn't work, still told me I had to go online and update before I could play.
I'm going to guess that what they did was set the banter to fire on a timer tied to your game clock, or something similar. Presumably that works when starting a new game but wreaks havoc with others saves.
If there's one thing that this thread proves - (if proof were needed) - it's that you lot can never bring yourselves to be even slightly happy...
Yeah its ridiculous. People look for things to complain about now

There are lots of bugs I think are tolerable. But, IMO, banter is a core feature of Bioware games. Issues with banter go to the core of enjoying the game; they're not like an ability being borked.
Especially in a game this size ... absence of banter is even more apparent. The banter is one of the primary highlights of Bioware games.
My banter is FUBAR

Looks like this now going to be a solo run

I was really hoping the broken mesh on the T3 Battlemage armor shoulders was going to be fixed.

That doesn't make sense.I'm going to guess that what they did was set the banter to fire on a timer tied to your game clock, or something similar. Presumably that works when starting a new game but wreaks havoc with others saves.
Today's Banter experiment, post-patch.
I had started a new playthrough yesterday, getting through the tutorial and only got to Haven pre-patch. I hadn't traveled to any of the other regions pre-patch. After the patch, I unlocked the Hinterlands and traveled there for the first time, with Varric/Cassandra/Solas via the War Map.
Summary: For the first half hour I went straight to the Crossroads, killed the enemies there, gained all the quests there, talked to everyone I could talk to, explored the homes, etc. At no time did banter fire during that first half hour. I then found a quiet spot near the first camp and idled. During that time banter did fire, and fairly regularly. Afterward I went back to "adventuring" with the banter firing once more during that time.
Here's the breakdown:
5:50 pm: Start: - Cleared out the Crossroads.
6:20 pm: Started Idling - Found a quiet spot near the camp.
6:28 pm: First Banter - Cassandra/Solas.
6:38 pm: Second Banter - Varric/Solas.
6:47 pm: First Environment Comment: - Varric.
7:01 pm: Third Banter - Varric/Solas.
7:16 pm: Fourth Banter - Cassandra/Solas.
7:17 pm: Finished Idling - Started "adventuring" again.
7:35 pm: Fifth Banter - Varric/Solas.
7:55 pm: End.
So perhaps it's a combination of "nearly-new-game" and idling producing the most banter (as nearly 70 min of "regular" adventuring only produced 1 instance of banter, while idling for nearly 60 min produced 4 instances of banter and 1 environment comment)
I doubt "nearly-new" has anything to do with it.So perhaps it's a combination of "nearly-new-game" and idling producing the most banter (as nearly 70 min of "regular" adventuring only produced 1 instance of banter, while idling for nearly 60 min produced 4 instances of banter and 1 environment comment)
Between Bioware and Paradox I yearn for the day a patch will be released that doesn't fix two things only to break six new things.
There is no "walk" in my bind screen ![]()
The studio is investigating this issue and would really appreciate the following information:
How would you describe your play-style? How are you moving around in areas? For example, are you using the mount? Are you playing a mage and using Blink to move around areas?
What game am I playing?
Blink, lol.
A solo run would imply that you have no party with you at all, rather than the fact that you do, but they just aren't talking. My banter is FUBAR

You are being a smidge over the top there, yes?

That is why it takes so long for patches to be developed. Most times a fix for one issue will cause another set of issues elsewhere. People think that Bioware just has to flip a switch and is just twiddling their thumbs when they are in fact working to make sure that there are more fixes than issues that may arise. They get criticized for taking so long, and then release a quick fix that fixes previous problems only to introduce several others.
I'm not sure why some others are still having issues with banter. I patched the game, and my companions rarely had a moment of silence all throughout the Hissing Wastes. I was so happy!
Indeed, and just serves to illustrate why patching something like this isn't a precise science, unfortunate as that may be. You can ask pretty much any games developer and they'll say the same thing.I'm not sure why some others are still having issues with banter. If more folk understood that, there'd be more of a sense of perspective and rather less recrimination and shouting.
So why is patching so hard?
Anyone having a problem using "Walk"?
After patching to 3, created a key binding for walk, used it and the inquisitor now walks. Great. But tried to untoggle, still walks. No way to go back to run mode. Had to reload a saved game. Test on several saves, same problem.
^ Are you using the FPS 'fix'? I hear that is responsible. In the Feeback/Suggestions version of this thread, someone said they had the same problem, and it was resolved with the 'fix' removed.
#snackrat, you are correct. I am using the FPS fix for the cutscenes. But I would rather have the faster FPS on the cutscenes than the walk so I just won't use the walk to avoid the problem for now.
So it isn't supposed to happen?

Sorry to drop in. But I've been having that issue on the PS4. The slow down doesn't seem jittery to me so I assumed it was working as a moment of 'cool'
