I think that actually one of the nicest GUIs I've used is that of Aion; it's pretty much all moveable and there's the whole transparency thing, which is nice.
I have no probs with DA:I's at all but you know, maybe it's something they could look at for the future.

The interface in DDO is like that too, all of my characters had a separate bar, at the top of the screen, for potions, and useable items. I like the set up in swtor too, it's very similar to what Aion did.

It changes the tooltips and icons that refer to the controls, and the quickbar is split in two of four slots, one appearing over the other (you hold one button to activate the other in order to use the abilities in it).

So there actually are two different interfaces in the pc version, right? Then why...just why didn't they add more than one hotkey bar to the keyboard+mouse UI? :(

Yes, and I have no idea. Silly decision from BioWare if you ask me.

I agree about Aion. It's the best interface I have ever seen, and probably what I liked the most about the game.

Oy, right, okay:

1) The 0 AR is a display bug. The shields AR is still being calculated in combat and reducing damage accordingly.

2) Its undocumented, but patch 3 seems to have fixed 1H and 2H detonators on Warriors. Shatter and Rupture combos now work and deal damage.

3. It also fixed Immolate. It now functions as a detonator for Mages. Stonefist however is still borked.

Spoiler

So Solas artifact quest is still bugged? It seems the patch note is about  his  quest in the Exalted Plains.

Also nothing about the mosaic pieces in the Hinterland?

ERF.

When I found out about the fact that there was a fix needed for the quest, it confused me because the quest came up for me correctly at first and I completed it with no problems. I went back to restart from one of my earlier saves because I changed my mind about storyline stuff and had to go back to older saves to restart before that part of the storyline that I wished to replay.

When I restarted using the older save, I could not find the Solas quest in my completed quests nor could I get it to trigger but the party banter suggested that it was done already. Now I am wondering if part of the bug is that it does not show up in completed quests!?

hmmm.

Does anyone know if the quest bug patch 3 is fixing came as a result of patch 2 or if it happened before patch 2?  The older save that I used was from prior to patch 2, meaning I had completed the quest before patch 2. Later I patched the game up to patch 2, then I went back and restarted from that older save after having played some hours with patch 2.

I figured that patches applied to the entire save folder and not just to new saves that are done after patch.

From what I've gathered, it's much of the same-- some are saying it helped, others state the patch accomplished the exact opposite.

Yeup for me since P3 my dream team refuse to talk.

I stopped getting sematics drops from enemies and chests thanks to patch 3. None what-so-ever, with the exception of vendors having a few for sale and forget trying to collect things for specializations. Zilch on that too. Inquisition perks that had once granted xp and/or influence no longer do that either.

But hey, at least the picture quality of my game is prettier!!  <Insert eye-rolling and completely un-impressed sarcasm here>

Fixes nothing that I wanted to see fixed, but it did fix the exploit that allowed me to escape the tedium of farming for materials.

Is this the same patch that consoles will get? Because, if so, I think I'll skip out on updating.

Same. I'm not updating yet. Bioware should just focus on fixing bugs, not exploits since those are done by the player's own desires and don't affect the game's ability to run properly.

Plus, they help gamers who don't want to spend hours farming for gold/material enjoy the game more. After all, once you get to Skyhold, you should be able to order others to gather that crap en masse for you (which is how I headcanon the exploit away since I only used it after reaching Skyhold).

Incredibly lazy patch.

I just stopped playing the game, I just got bored with it. A great disappointment to me. Perhaps it would get better but I can't get over the pointless vast areas with nothing in it.

Maybe later on I might try to finish it.

In other words, "There's too much to do, a lot of which looks mostly like work.  Grinding out other people's requests and collecting materials for 'Requistions'.  Why bother?"

I thought the same thing, until I realized that I simply didn't have  to do anything  except what's found under the "Inquisitor's Path" unless I wanted to.  When I jettisoned my normal "completionist" attitude, suddenly the game got a lot more fun!

I'm on a new playthrough with patch 3 and the banter happens every 8 minutes or so.

Also did they fix the astrarium cave loot? The hinterlands and storm coast items (I think) were higher level I can actually use them this time, if that's the case, sweet.

Everything else works fine as far as I can tell I'm level 10 and haven't noticed a problem yet.

Yeah, sort of like a offline MMO.

Because the 8-ability limit is a gameplay limit and not a UI one. Which I would have thought would be obvious, considering it's uniform across all of the UIs.

I'm actually the exact opposite: I started the game, finished it quickly, and decided, "You know what? I love this game so much, I want to do ALL the Quests and get EVERYTHING."

And then that's when I started to notice all the problems.

It's not fun having a save file where everything is just waiting to crap itself because you did so many things and it can just barely take it.

So you didn't play Origins, or DA 2? I mean, I realize it's showing that you actually own it, but ownership does not necessitate that you played it. If you had, you would know that there were resources to gather if you wanted to craft, which, ultimately could be purchased at vendors, once you generated enough coin, and unlocked the stores. Of course, in DA 2 there was even an achievement for it, and resources you missed in the previous chapter could be purchased through the Black Emporium.

I really wish you were correct though, you and all the other posters that spout this hyperbole to bash on the game. Because if it were, my M/KB controls would be a lot better than they are. I'd have a ton more mouse flexibility, and might even be able to take advantage of my extra mouse buttons, since newer MMOs do indeed allow me to bind things to the extra mouse buttons I have. Sadly, just like your argument, they fall a bit flat.

I don't know. It's been a while to be honest. I expected a bit more.

Patches for the consoles have to be certified by Sony and MS, so it will take a while longer to get them, unless they just wait to release them all at once, which then increases the time between patches, and the rage on BSN.

Tends to be Tuesdays.

My guess would be Tuesday 26th or the following Tuesday.

You have a point. I was, however, wondering about DLC.

If it follows the pattern of DAO and DA2, April maybe for SP DLC.

DLC is normally announced 2-3 weeks ahead of release.
