Whelp, the banter fix was the main thing I was waiting on for replay so I'm fairly happy. I'd still love to know more about potential future DLC, but I suppose that's putting the cart before the horse. I'm pretty happy about the character face changing being a priority as well.

Now if only they'd put in replacements for the Skyhold Pajamas. I play with a controller on PC so I don't really have any game-breaking UI complaints. The graphics optimization got better for me with the Nvidia patch right after launch. Plus patch 2.

And here I thought they based it on their IQ... ;)

As  much as you like to fan boy, they were probably off for xmass and new years... so that would technically be 2 weeks. But lets not let IQ override simple math now shall we?

can confirm a shield bug.

I have Blackwall's crafted t3 shield with 0 defence now. Rest of the shields (few in the inventory+Cassandra's ) seem fine. Still do not know whether it's just a display number, or an actual  shield armor bug (had not tested that yet).

Shields already crafted show 0 for the armour value. The full details include an amount of armour in the list which seems to tally with the correct amount, as far as I can tell. Don't know what happens when you craft a new shield though.

On keyboard/mouse, what is the walk toggle key/button? I don't mind always running and don't want to accidentally toggle to walk if I can't get back to running without going back to an old save.

It's unbound after patching, so... none.

Trust me, I never fanboy!

There's been about 2 weeks since new year, but that doesn't mean they've only been working on everything in this particular patch during this time. Some of these bugs may have been worked on since right after the game was released. I just think it's hilarious to see people throw out guestimates on what amount of "work" is really contained within the latest patch. There's nothing simple about patching and fixing bugs, and "simple math" really has nothing to do with it.

The walking toggle is permanent toggle? I cannot get back to running after toggling the walking on... same key does nothing. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

they hyped up this patch

they announced an announcement for this patch.
And like the game they hyped up it fell flat for PC and last gen consoles.

There are still people trapped in quests.Main quests that they cannot move forward and have been since mid December. A whole month later and a patch is out and they still cannot progress?

There are still people with bugged saves. Still cannot load my 60+ Qunari Mage due to bugged autosaves and bugged regular saves. And save that freeze the game while loading.

There are skill trees still bugged.

There are items that won't drop or won't properly and with broken tooltips.

And it's now 2 months since the game has been released and there are already 3 patches and none of them address the truly abhorrent gamebreaking bugs in the game.

FYI:

Walk toggle works fine for me, have it bound to the delete key and it's cool.

Shields are showing defence values.

Oh and the workaround for stuck quests  appears to work as well - (not in the Patch, but just thought I would mention it).

Are you suggesting that Bioware is sitting around sipping wine laced with the tears of the consumers while laughing about how they're doing everything but trying to fix the game? You can not exactly fix bugs by using magic. Especially not since most of them aren't universal (some people barely experience bugs at all - other can barely play the game), and you have both PC and console versions to deal with. All bugs needs to documented, then re-produced, and perhaps re-produced again, fixed, tested then back to fixing again because the fix you did actually ended up having a side-effect you didn't intend, etc etc etc.

Patch is working perfectly for me....it even seems like there is a lot less "pop in" during skyhold, which is nice.

+The walk key is something I've wished for but never expected. Nice.

+Banter appears to be improved.

- Still no Skyhold outfit fix.

How do opt out of this?  I don't want this patch if it takes away the Farris glitch but leaves in a bunch of other things wrong.  It's like they are just "fixing" the things I never asked to be fixed and leaving all the things I don't want.

Dorian's quest is fixed.

I walked for an hour and no party banter for me. Changed my typical party btw. Nothing. Not a word. Could just mean I'm unlucky.

Skyhold had a song, not the drums, for a bit when I first loaded the game post patch.

I'm having some slowmo bug (only few seconds) sometimes in battle.

Does anyone have problems loading a world state after this patch? Or is this my lame a** connection and weird timing?

The walk toggle problem was caused by Origin game properties for me, the ones that remove the FPS lock, like

-GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99 -GameTime.MaxSimFps 59.99 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 59.99+

Clearing the game properties removed the problem, and the toggle works normally.

Oh I see, probs why mine worked straight off, as I don't have that...

Same here walk toggle and shield values are fine.

What is the workaround for stuck quests?

Can't load a custom world state. Logged in to the Keep, tried to re-export my world state, but still only the default one is available. Not sure if patch-related, but the timing is curious.

When one of my characters currently gains a level, DAI turns into a game of "avoiding". I avoid new active abilities because I long ran out of slots. Only passives for me now.

At the start I thought that you'd run out of slots only under very bad conditions like making a make with focus on more than one school of magic. I was wrong. Every kind of character will run out of slots. And not even by one or two slots. The whole thing is to broken they had to notice it during betatest. You notice it at around character level ~15, that's half of the limit. Most testers probably reached that character level and it isn't even necessary to finish the game, you get there much earlier.

But there is actually a natural factor in the game that limits the use of active abilities anyway. So Bioware could argue that with just the given amount of maximum stamina, who would ever use more than like maybe 3, 4 or 5 active abilities, right? Yeah but that argument only works because they simply cut the ability to evolve your stats manually. Were you able to, you'd probably be able to raise your maximum stamina considerably. All in all, this whole system is not thought through at best, broken at worst.

I cannot but shake my head in disbelief of such an obvious problem with the game. It's beyond stupid.

All I read was a bunch of complaining. Ending your comment with "All in all, this whole system is not thought through at best, broken at worst" Isn't persuasive... You didn't explain why its broken.

In case you haven't noticed, most of the spells in Origins did the exact same thing. In DAI, we still have enough spells to do just about everything we did in Origins... I actually made a thread about the spells we actually lost: Basically, just a few of the Entropy curses and the mana-alteration tree. Nearly everything else is still in-game, in one shape or another.

I think you totally misunderstood me. I'm not complaining about a lack of abilities, I complain about a lack of slots to put them in. I got 8 slots. Not a single one more. And most if not all of my characters simply ran out of slots. If I wanna learn and use one more active ability I have to throw out another one. Do I really need to explain how and why this is something to call "broken"?

And that's why I currently focus on passive abilities and avoid active ones. I can't fit them in the slots I have, I ran out of space...It's like when you buy a ticket to watch a movie and then it turns out they sold 100 tickets for a cinema that only holds 75 people. ;)

Was you "..." supposed to be evident of anything?

I would like to not have this patch.  I play single player only and see no benefit in getting this patch.  Is there an obvious way to do this other than playing with my LAN disconnected?  Is it so obvious that you could only respond with "..."?
