You just broke his heart. As custom from our tribe, you must now cut your fingers and offer your heart to my second grand mother while dancing naked under the moon.

It's single player, I could understand if this was for MP (even that is co-op) but for SP this has been a big help to me. I really don't have a lot of time on my hands and I want to play, not farm. In fact there is a lot to play with as it is. Removing this glitch is very stupid and can't be undone. If Bioware does this on my XBox one I will play offline from now on and I suggest everyone do the same, especially if you only play single player.
I have found a fast way to get rid of all these patches and be able to play the unpacthed original 1st release.
I know this is not a solution for everyone. Only those with a PC I guess? I haven't got a clue how the game is installed on consoles.
I grabbed the retail install discs and unzipped the contents of disc 4 to a seperate drive.
Everything except the large *.cas files located in Dragon Age Inquisition\Data (cas_01.cas to cas_21.cas). No need to install those again. These are also the only files I kept. The rest is directly copied from install disc 4.
You have to delete the entire 'Patch' folder located in your install directory under 'Update'.
Also delete the following file: Engine.BuildInfo_Win64_retail.dll located in the game root directory.
If you have Digital Deluxe contents just leave it where it is. Origin already registered them and will find them.
I unticked the automatic updates in Origin to be sure.
It works ok for me. I can start a new game.
The bad news is that you can't use your savegames made by newer versions of the game as they contain information of which version they are created with. You have to start a new game.
I asume savegames are accepted by a newer version (patch) but not the opposite.

How to do this on xbox one?
How to do this on xbox one?
The patch details for console have not even been announced,
why on earth would you not want a patch that folk have been requesting for many weeks?

I don't own an Xbone so I don't know.
This thread shows the community and why .4% have platinumed dragon age on ps4.
One side is the minority we have played the game left haven and actually put lots of hours into the game.
The other majority side know's nothing or has only played on normal showing the little knowledge they have of the game.
Maybe we should upload a screen shot of our charecter list/hours on the files.
Lol. That is all.
I think we should all voice our displeasure at this "fix" by tweeting to @dragonage and @bioware about it. Maybe even @Mike_Laidlaw the game's creative director.
Because removing the exploit is a more important concern than dealing with the bugs
The concerns about the exploit looks from my perspective as a thread full of entitled whining, to avoid playing the game as intended.
Players who have become accustomed to using these exploits/cheats would best deal with it, because it has been fixed and the exploit is not coming back.
This also puts the past several weeks wailing about bugs into perspective, as the game is suddenly not 'unplayable' or 'totally broken' anymore, to some, if the desire to game influence and inventory overrides it.
(I'm not saying there have not been bugs, of course there have and some bad ones, but some complaints have been hyperbole)
I presume blocking access to patch download will also block access to future patches and DLC,
as a DLC would presumably load the patch if it found it was not present (open to correction on that), so (probably) somewhat of a futile protest.
But hey, we're all entitled to an opinion, so don't download the patch, that's fine,
I just struggle with the logic behind the decision (and yes I did read the rationale above).
How dare they try and make the game work as intended?

Used or not, this exploit has no effect on the functionality of the game.

I haven't. I like the game as it is and feel that this patch is a step backwards. If I don't have the patch and can't play the dlc or multiplayer then I am fine with that. The item dupe trick has saved me a lot of time and time is not something I have a lot of.

There is already enough **** measuring as it is.
That's why we should upload screenshots of our ****s! Biggest ones win. Women get quadruple points for keeping a straight face while participating.

Then I won't get the DLC. Simple as that. There is enough content in this game for me to enjoy.
I use those exploits. I sit in front of my TV, on my Xbox, in my couch, in my house. It affects you none at all, so why all the hate? The only way I can interpret that is that you have a stake in me not enjoying the game as I want to. I'll "deal with it" by not getting the patch. Xbox can play offline (like I did during the lizard squad attack on Xbox live), and that's what I'll do. Deal with that however you want because what you do for fun has no effect on me.
How dare they try and make the game work as intended?
MY game. I'll enjoy it however I want to, not how EA intends it.

Ah yes, the tired old "entitled gamers" argument. Same crap was trotted out with the crappy ME3 ending.
You show BioWare who's boss!
I don't have to, I'll just unplug my LAN line and not get the DLC.
