Eh what now? Could you elaborate please?

He/she is questioning the "old school gamers are perfectionist" claim, and rightly so. While some old school gamers may be perfectionists there's also some old school gamers who either are too old to give a **** about that anymore, or never held that attitude in the first place.

Ah okay. Fine. Then you never completed any LucasArts or Sierra adventure game, didn't get far into the Ultima series and missed out on quite a lot more games. What exactly makes you old school gamers then?

Exactly. Wut?
Final fantasy (open all chests and see what walls you can walk through)
Doom (believe that all walls are secret doors)
Castlevania & Zelda (buy Nintendo power)

Honestly, I can't think of any old game where you could skip stuff without consequence.

Some games back in the 80's did require a certain stamina - some of the puzzles were almost inpenetrable .

That meant for some games you had to be a perfectionist or just go outside and play with friends (no Facebook or internet to look things up on).

Personally I now like casual gaming with an Xbox Controller because I have less brain cells and it has less buttons  :D

What makes me personally old school gamer? I dunno, maybe the fact your idea of Sierra and LucasArts adventure games being "old school" makes me smile?

because to me, it's more like: http://torinak.com/qaop#!hobbit

Well, those were not my first games but the first ones people today still know. I'm from East Germany, we had different computers and games back then. ;)

We're in the same old power block then, though not the same country ;) I played that one on a second-hand Timex, they sold those around here in the 'foreign goods' stores.

Was wondering why this stopped working. Bummer, made the 2nd playthrough a lot more fun. And actually a little shocked considering the exact exploit went unpatched in DA:O and DA2 forever.

Was going to do a 3rd playthrough as a "bad guy" but probably not now. Just seems like a silly thing to kill for single player.

I gave up and tried the cheat engine  . I don't trust these 3rd party software for a game, but at this point I'll have to suck it up. If it does what people say, I'll use it only to make available the T3 schematics and some gold from time to time.

I feel sorry for console owners, they have nowhere to go.

DONT WORRY ABOUTS THE CONSOLE PEOPLE

BIOWARE WILL MAKE ARMORS WEAPONS CRAFTING MATERIALS AND SCHEMATIC DLC PACKS

because if you make the crafting system and material drop system and RNG unbearable and frustrating enough people will just pay for OP weapons and armor

But why did they bother to fix this? It doesn't break the game or otherwise interfere with gameplay. Yeah, people exploited it, but if you didn't want to you didn't have to. Surely there were bigger things that needed fixing? Why take the time and effort for something that many people considered a bonus rather than a bug?

Basic tier cloth is sold by merchant in VR, and then you get the war table operation to get the tier of choice, after you conquer a keep. Though it's hardly needed in my experience, I've been swimming in cloth I didn't need through most of the game.

What motherfucking mage is going to run around with scrub tier cloth? And Fustian Plush is cool and all, but I rock the mage class and I don't want my homeboy looking like a green crossword puzzle.

Batman, please. They'll wear what I tell them AND LIKE IT.

(besides it's all about colour coordination and looking good anyway)

Hey, anyone online here with the game crashing bug? I would like to run a theory with ya. My Video card is ooooold, nVidia 9800gtx+ I see here that the update enabled directx 11. Since this card only supports up to directx 9c, i think this is the culprit.

My game is now impossible to start. I can go as far as selecting contine/load. After a while trying to do it, it crashes to the desktop.

I would so not be surprised by this at all. Why patch it unless money could be made from it? It's like the RNG from MO moved to SP.
Bioware: Now we can screw them in both!
Makes me wish I played on PC just to use the cheat engine.

That is likely to be your issue then.

It looks the way the game artists designed and made them. Whether that's what they're going for, you'd have to ask them.
