If you remove this exploit then how are we meant to craft gear for everyone in the way we want? By removing this exploit you will be encouraging mod use.
Oh noes! Mods is what killed Bethesda!
The note Fixed issue that allowed players to exploit their gold value in single-player mode in the upcoming patch is a bad idea. There are not enough dragons to craft the best gear for your entire team.
And Dragon Age Origins did not have enough Oathkeepers to completely equip a party of four dual wielding warriors/rogues, and neither are there enough copies of unique items in DAI to equip the entire party so what makes you think quasi-unique crafted items should be any different?
I understand it's game breaking as it can allow you to OP early but if there isn't enough gear to farm then I don't see the point of playing SP
I agree, you'd be better served with a korean grinder MMO; given that there is no shortage of these MMOs, however, I wonder why we have to turn every game into a mind-numbing MMO?
As for fixing exploits in single player games, it is obviously Bioware's prerogative to do whatever they wish and, in general, this is probably a positive thing - for example, having one incredibly overpowered class means that de facto you have less choice playing the game because you're not gonna pick the boring class when you could be killing a dragon in less than 10s solo.
No developer is going to anticipate every mad combination of skills players can come up with, so having to fix exploits (like unintended synergy between abilities) post-launch is inevitable.
On the other hand, I think it's my prerogative to modify the game in any way I see fit by using mods, in game cheats or modification of save files.
