Okay been living under a rock here what's the glitch- or cheat in DAO? Not joking just wondering what and how? Nothing wrong when someone came out with Dungen be gone for BG2 I could of kissed them☺️

Well the buy and sell glitch functioned about the same as in Inquisition I believe. Sell all and sell at the same time and such. Fairly certain it was patched. You can gradually earn infinite gold and xp by turning in traps to the girl in lothering. And finally you can turn in the darkspawn blood to duncan over and over before you get the treaties for infinite xp. Figured I would just list off the ones I know off the top of my head

So, this is the part where you give up trying to make a rational argument? Or did we pass that a couple posts back when you started to alternate between saying it took a long time and saying it took minutes? Seriously, dude, pick one. Or throw up your hands and admit you have no idea what you're talking about and you made up those numbers because you were drunk or something.

It is unbelievably obvious to anyone without severe aspergers that my original statement you're referring to was pulled directly out of my butt. I truly don't understand how some people devote their lives to picking apart sarcasm

... Also, why should it matter that I want to farm for my materials and you don't when it's totally optional? Just asking. I want to have the freedom to make my own choices in this game, I want to have a lot of materials. If you don't want them, fine. But this is how I role play my Inquisitor and how I enjoy this game.

This.

I utterly despise people that come on here with their high and mighty "you should play the game the way it was intended" bullshit. What arrogance. It is not like this exploit randomly occurs; it requires a deliberate effort on your part to trigger. It in no way affects you; yet you proclaim to preach to us? There are many reasons why someone would want to use the exploit, but that doesn't even matter. People should be free to choose without explanation. Return to your basements and prothletise to your damn walls.

(Rant against all the how-you-game-nannies, not quoted poster.)

There's no reason to fix an exploit because exploits can be avoided and they never make players mad. Fix the bugs that hurt game playability.

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea why this was prioritized over the various bugged secondary stats, half of the ability rings, focking RNG, stupid party AI and pathfinding, etc. etc. It was probably just easy to fix for the one person who is patching this game, so it slipped through. The funniest thing is we kinda expected a patch to improve the PC controls (like you promised) and instead we got this after a month of waiting. Also, if by the improving the controls you meant adding the walking toggle, I don't know if I should laugh or cry :) Seriously BioWare, I love your games, you made some of the best ones in the history, but for crying out lout you have behind you one of the biggest publishers in the world and your game just won multiple GOTY awards, some of them thanks to us... Would be cool if you put more effort into QA and at least assign a second guy to it.

Like many people above me pointed out, this exploit wasn't hurting anybody and it actually made the game less tedious, grindy and frustrating and for some increased its replayability.

Those patch notes though... if they fix all that, the forums should be almost free of hate.

But it won't be, oh no. It has already begun by complaining about fixing an exploit.

But seriously, read those patch notes. PC players especially should be very pleased.

I should be happy that half the abilities don't work? Are you insane? It took them a month to come up with this anemic patch. It is barebones at best.

The attitude in this thread before the patch was officially released was an entirely different tone. I wouldn't hold it against him

There's actually a fair amount of bug fixes that for reasons I can;t fathom aren't in the patch notes. 2 hander tree detonators were both fixed, as was immolate.

I understand the devs want you to experience the game as they meant it to be -- the first time you play. After that, sorry, all bets are off. If they gave me a New Game + that offered one or several of:

-- 5x the mats per harvest

-- Base 100 of all materials

-- Materials for finishing MP challenges

I'd be a lot happier because stopping every few feet in each region, frankly, sucks and isn't fun. This type of mode won't jack with anyone who wants the vanilla game where they explore and pick weeds to their hearts content but that isn't a part of the game I want to devote a lot of time to anymore.

Keep all crafted armors.
No point in grinding the first 4 hours

Fix the damned rings. No, you fix an exploit in a SINGLE PLAYER game.

I used the exploit for a very simple reason: I don't want to be swapping out armor depending who I take with me in the party. I duped craft materials for two reason: I don't want to grind. Grinding is tedious. And if I can make a bad ass mage robe once, I could swap it out on the three mages, or I could make it three times and forget about this micromanagement nonsense.

But no, of all the broke ass things, you decide to declare a new type of war on your player base. It's fitting really.

Given the choice, I'd certainly prefer that the 'intended' mechanics were interesting enough to keep people from considering exploits (more dragons, no rng schematics, resource nodes not interrupting gameplay every ten seconds) but until that happens, this was the only thing keeping the ideal-gear hunt from turning into a tedious slog.

I finished two playthroughs without looking at any guides, outside sources, or using exploits of any kind and to be clear, I don't think this fix makes DA:I a bad game.  I'd still recommend it to others on the strength of the campaign.  For my third run though, I had intended to grab as many schematics as I could and make a full-party set of fun and interesting gear to play with.  As soon as I saw that this was fixed though, I literally lost interest immediately and uninstalled.  Runes that can't be unsocketed aren't important enough to be as limited as they are and farming rocks and cloth isn't a worthwhile use of my time.

So yeah, still a good game but for me, these exploits gave it a bit more lasting power.  And until more content surfaces, that's now gone.

Also this is a sp game so no matter what we do in our game, it does not put other players at a disadvantage.

I never heard anyone complain about it before.
Maybe people sarcastically saying how Über nightmare mode completed in 12 hours lol

But, but, but, there's another Blood Lotus just over there !!!

I can't walk past it !!!!

I loved how people videoing demos of the game would compulsively pick up Elfroot

despite the fact that their session would be presently wiped.

Drives me nuts.
I can purchase 100 elf root at the crossroads at ANY time. I usually pick them up to get them off my map so I can look for loot off enemies that is 30' from the vanishing body

The note Fixed issue that allowed players to exploit their gold value in single-player mode in the upcoming patch is a bad idea. There are not enough dragons to craft the best gear for your entire team. If you remove this exploit then how are we meant to craft gear for everyone in the way we want? By removing this exploit you will be encouraging mod use.
I can't be the only one upset about this fix.
I understand it's game breaking as it can allow you to OP early but if there isn't enough gear to farm then I don't see the point of playing SP. If someone OP's and regrets it then they can simply decide NOT to do it on the next play through.
Prohibition has been proven not to work

Edit: source= http://blog.bioware....-patch-3-notes/

I started a petition on BioWare and EA games to bring back the OPTION for us to use all the so called "exploits" that existed pre patch #3 (item duping, infinite influence/gold etc), they removed our decisive power! I have to disagree with you though, it's NOT game breaking, because YOU and I HAD the option to "power boost" our inquisitor as we saw fit, if we were so inclined to. Now we don't even have the option to do so for our 2nd or 3rd playthroughs. Everyone who reads this post, please support my petition, I speak more in depth on change.org on why it's NOT game breaking and why we should demand these "exploits" return! Let our voices be heard here! https://www.change.o...lay-how-we-want

I don't want to undermine your actions, Chozen, but I kinda feel you are fighting a lost battle. They are never gonna reintroduce an exploit / glitch back to the game, just as they'll never adress the majority of the issues people have with the game. Because even if we hate those things and some of us won't play the game ever again because of them, they are there by design. We'll rather see various weapons / armors DLC than a fix for the awful RNG system or a rollback of a part of patch 3 (honestly, I am kinda surprised DAI doesn't have microtransactions as AC: Unity, at least something positive).
