Well I got a warning for that.  Finally, this thread gets some attention from somebody over there.

I told you mods are watching :D But I don't know if they are sending any feedback to the devs or they are just keeping the forums clean.

Anyway, back on topic, fixing the dupe glitch was a mistake!

Surely it was intentional putting it in there for two games in a row.

Well that depends...they're using a different engine but maybe the merchant system used a copy paste since DA:O and they just kept recycling it.
Still it begs the question: Why after nearly a decade do they remove this when it's become a PART of the game?
Also look at me, I have 2 warnings and was banned for a week. I really do want change and I don't know what you said but trust me, it's not worth it.

I have 2 theories 1 is that a developer who thought it would be funny to make you farm silverite and hallas and obsidian for 3 hours to make 1 piece of armor got butt hurt when he saw people duping on youtube.  Or since pc players are still duping and modding away with their cheats it's a conspiracy to get console players to buy pcs.

Ooh I LOVE conspiracies...thing is, sometimes conspiracies and conspirital fact.
There's been plenty of talk about 1 dev making this decision. BW stopped giving names out after a specific incidence involving some really nasty death threats but I really would love to know at least if it was 1 person or a group decision.

And even that assumes you're never going to want to Critical Forge ... and barely ever make anything Masterwork for that matter.
Trying to crit-forge without a veritable mountain of Dragon Teeth? ... What a comical notion.  ¬_¬

made a forum account just to post about this:

fixing this just ruined the game for me - with the auto-updating, I had no choice on whether or not I wanted this patch.

I have 3 playthroughs going at the same time (warrior, rouge, mage) and now i have no desire to continue any of them.

Is there anyway to remove the latest patch on xbox one?

(I've tried deleting and reinstalling but that didn't do anything)

I don't care if i have to start over, delete everything, just so I can play the game and have fun.

I just don't want this patch.

I don't know if it still works, but deleting your cache on the 360 removed every update you had installed.

yeah but sadly i'm not on the xbox360, playing on the xbox one.

I cleared cache on xboxone and deleted game/reinstalled, neither of which worked.

It's like the Anchor.

Not even Corypheus can remove it  <_<

Perhaps upcoming DLC will add some more materials,

and maybe the upcoming DLC is the reason why the exploit was closed?

I know nothing of xbone but it seems to me it's reinstalling with either origins in place or the patch is downloading upon install.
Can you kill your web when installing and see if that helps?

Delete the game, cut off Internet access and re install. Playing game now at version 1.0 with the useless search radar but at least I can dup and enjoy the game again.

So, now we've turned to conspiracy theories, and theories that the glitch was intentional? People will apparently go to great lengths to justify what they feel that they are entitled to. I'm pretty sure that they're not going to spend resources adding a glitch to the game, at a time when they're supposed to be fixing them.

Doesn't version 1.0 basically have all of the other problematic bugs, like the Hawke voice bug, dialogue freezing, etc.?

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around why duping is such a big deal to some people. I can feel my eyes glazing over.

Well, you can just dupe everything you need and then patch the game again. And honestly the vanilla version doesn't have that many noticeable bugs anyway compared to current version. BW really didn't go to great lenghts to fix the most pressing issues. And something is even working better without patches, like banter or loading times :D

I honestly don't understand the whole "Hardcore Gamer" thing. It makes me laugh. I play the game on normal, using the glitch, on Xbox One. The reason being? It's a long ass game for one, so I really don't want to waste 150 hours on trying to get good equipment, and I have a life outside of "gaming". The only reason I'm on here is to see if there was any questions I had answered. So to all you "Hardcore Gamers" who think everyone else is crying, go back to masturbating to your countless time put into a game, because no one cares if you think it's wrong to exploit.

You sound a lot more like you're crying than laughing. I don't even care if people use an exploit, but whinging about someone fixing a glitch in their game? That's the internet, for you.

Then how about actually paying attention to what each post is saying? Duping helped make the grind go by a lot quicker and allowed us to actually play the game without having to spend hours getting some resources. Especially the fade touched stuff. It really isn't hard to understand.

This isn't "whining about someone fixing a glitch in their game". This is trying to understand why they would waste time fixing some optional exploits in a sp game that harmed no one, instead of focusing on more of the other, actual bugs within the game or addressing the real issue as to why these exploits were used so much in the first place. I mean if they removed these exploits and addressed the amount of time it took to grind resources and such then there would not be much of a problem.

The fact that this exploit was so widely used and improved upon gameplay so much shows that there is a problem with how things currently are. And THAT problem should have been addressed first or at the same time as the exploits.

Here here Cody
I don't think these people actually read the thread.
They open it and post their opinion without listening to the concerns of others.
I hope the devs actually spend more time than these casuals in reading the massive amount of butthurt over this

Personally I feel that glitches are fine for those who wish to use them. They are cheating themselves after all.
Being that the glitch for duping items was there at the start, it should have been left in.
As some pc users have mentioned, they can still hack their systems, whereas console users who let say ' don't have the time to spend farming multiple mining items' but still wish to enjoy the main aspects of the game are pretty much screwed!
Think bioware should reinstate this glitch for those who use it, but maybe insert a detection system so that if used, all accomplishments are voided!
Seems fair to me, then blowhards who cheat would be unable to demonstate their achievements.

You are talking about a cheat menu, you know? Use a cheat and no accomplishements or trophies, it is a cheat menu! Perhaps they want to give it for charge : a paid DLC to gain access to a cheat code...

Nah, voiding achievments would be pointless and wouldn't make any sense, since the game is already easy enough as it is (and again, PC players wouldn't care about this at all because cheat engine). The exploit / glitch didn't make the game any easier, it was mainly used for cosmetic purposes anyway.

I honestly rather see BW addressing the core issue here and that is their ridiculous RNG loot system (it is by far the worst one I've seen in a SP game) than reintroducing the exploit back. But we will get neither, because BW can't hear us over all their shiny goty awards they are receiving... They either don't care at all or they had to transfer the majority of people to other projects and there is just a skeleton crew left to take care of DAI.

Same here it was fun yeah and I'll be sad to see it go but like Skyrim it's removal won't break the game for me.

However I AM ticked that Bioware broke the game again with a patch.
