BAD IDEA BIOWARE; Fixed issue that allowed players to exploit their gold value in single-player mode.

Herbs and mineral resources are not much of an issue and leathers aren't too bad although there appear to be a few missing from the game. In the "common" category there are eight tier 1 types, eight tier 2 types, but only six tier 3 types, and one of those are craggy skins which no creature appears to drop.
Cloth is a real problem as these mats only drop from humanoid opponents/red templars and the drop rates for many of them are ridiculously low. And humanoid opponents tend to thin out over time while creature respawns remain relatively constant.
Fade-touched cloths are probably the hardest to acquire-- way the hell out in MMO-grind territory.

@Fade-Touched
For me the 3 main problems are fade-touched materials, schematics and the fact that dragon materials in signifficant quantities come way too late.
Yeah, it is true about the humanoid enemies, once you complete the main quests in each zone, there is less and less of them. For example after finishing Emprise du Lion, there was like only 1 group of red templar spawning randomly in the whole location, one group. Good luck with getting the fade-touched materials out of them then. I cleared the zone and only later when I was doing some backtracking for a shard, I finally looted the fade-touched version of the cloth they drop. It is ofc the best masterwork material for rogues in the entire game (hidden blades with 5 extra hits) and if I hadn't been backtracking, I would have missed it completely.

I spent hours on that mountain killing red templars and then not setting up camp just so they'd respawn. Not just for the mats but to finish up the creature research on the knights, shadows, behemoths, etc. Bleargh

I apologize Mr high and mighty next time I will use proper periods and comma's seriously where the hell do you get off and not to mention I looked into your masseffect 3 bs its about an ending a stupid ending this is a whole different scenario the game is unplayable to many on ps3 and 360. The lawsuit at the time has no true ending and was filed by a single individual who then petitioned only based off all the facts of gathered from sites give news vs the bs that most people like you self believe everything they see on the net. As for this is a giant nonplayable game for many who haven't seen the ending except on youtube. There for they DO have grounds for a class action lawsuit that they will most likely pay off or credit to the side so people like you think nothing is happening to stay out of the media's eyes. Next for this forum about us wanting the dupe back all you have brought is your arrogant attitude to this subject about how certain people want to play the game so if you aren't here to help move the hell on.

I pointed out the commas and periods not because I wanted to attack you, but because your wall of text is seriously hard to read. Commas and periods make texts more readable, that is kinda the point of using them. It would be hard for me in my native language as well, let alone in a foreign language.
ME3 ending was a major lie by the devs promising something that was not in the game. That is the same case as devs promising the game will run just fine on old gen consoles or promising the game was made by PC players for PC players with the PC controls in mind. All lies and you are entitled to return the game within a certain period of time of your purchase without even saying why you want a refund, that is your right (again, it really depends on the country you live in though). You have no legal right to ask for a refund after months have passed. That is the same as warranty, if your phone suddenly stopped working 2 years and 1 day after your purchase, you would have to get a new one or pay for the repair yourself, since warranty (at least where I live) lasts by default 2 years. You also agreed to the EULA, I bet it covers this problem as well and if you agreed with the terms, you are now out of luck. It is your right though to file a petition or sue them, but you will get nothing out of it, since the time you might have gotten something, has already passed (unless you bought the game in the last 14 days, which doesn't seem so to me, but I might be wrong).
What the hell? First sleasye74 and now you, are you blind or you don't understand what I am writing? I have MANY TIMES said in this very thread and elsewhere that removing the exploit was a mistake, I said why exactly it was and why exactly it would be better to leave the exploit be or address the core issue. I have defended the exploit and spoken against this "fix" since patch 3 on PCs came out. I have argued about it with people riding here on their high horses and preaching that everybody using the exploit is a dirty cheater and that the game is just as awesome without it. And arrogant attitude? Say what now?
What is arrogant about telling people that their luck in obtaining all the materials they wanted without any extra effort does not mean that other players will be just as lucky no matter how much hours they spend playing the game? Where do you see the arrogance? You might want to check this http://www.thefreedi...ry.com/arrogant. Well now that I think of it, the previous sentence might be a bit arrogant, whoops, you got me

Bioware will not tolerate talk of this on their official forums.
While I appreciate your passion, this isn't the right thread to discuss legal matters.
Please refrain.

Eh they know with diasters and lack of compassion on thier part makes talk of large scale anger and means of an end to their uncustomer oriented way. Which is usually how take over happens just look at need for speed its now owned by the maker of burnout now who is listening and are in the works of making need for speed underground 3. Censoring the on slaught is just fuel to the fire and petitions are on here if the true gave a hoot about the lawsuit word they wouldn't allow any such thing as the word petition to be on here. Now say I report some one for saying merely the word what the report if your luck will be go under a magnifying glass maybe, but 9 times out of 10 the report will make it though and the individual will be warned of a simple word that would be what, Not to mention going further into depth i could continue the complaints though tweeter, facebook, myspace if it even exist any more, hotlines if they ever open them up again and their email address. So yea just saying a ban or day block doesn't really scream fear me in a tyrant way. Specially with floating ip yea think i got ways around them just saying.
As for legal matters i will leave that to the other L word if the company comes under further fire and refrain out of respect of it being your topic.

Thank you, threads have been locked for less.
I do feel they failed in their advertisement and manipulated public opinion through underhanded tactics. The fact that I love this game means I have gotten enjoyment out of it. Now however, I do fear for others over the replayability. I can still play FFX, IV, Tactics, or NwN and I am completely willing to grind for unnecessary gear because except for the pink tail in IV the drop rates and fixed loot are balanced perfectly. Not so here. The only thing to balance that was chest farming and mat dupes.

Dam good example but the fixed drop rate is higher vs dai low drop rate and also its low re-spawn rate which kills it its not just a grind its like a a car stuck in first gear your gonna get where you are going but its gonna take a dam long time to get there. Which makes the game going no where and if the dlc has new schematics with new items to collect just ugh i dunno if i could do it without a save editor or the dupe back.

Don't know where this attack over arrogance is coming from. I feel like the discussion has been very civil and productive. So let's keep it that way please.
@wingzeroshell: I hate grammar nazis as much as the next guy, but Jeffry has a point. You have had some meaningful input to the discussion, but your posts are incredibly hard to read due to the large number of run-on sentences and overall lack of punctuation. I think it was more of plea for help than an attack on your person.

The reason you had to bump is because the thread was derailed.
I'm thinking the majority of gamers want the exploit back in and nobody would/should complain if it were considering it's an optional thing. It hurts nobody yet benefits many. It's like being able to use a calculator in math class. It's entirely optional to use it as a shortcut however it hurts nobody who wants to use pen & paper.

The thing is, they have an (I hope unwritten) policy to not give us responses regarding their programming decisions but wouldn't it be in their best interest to respond to the community regarding a decision that negatively impacted...rough estimates, 30% of their customers?
That was such a poor sentence structure but I'm not editing lol

Given the lack of feedback from Bioware thus far, I sincerely doubt a petition with anything less than signatures numbering in the hundreds of thousands will have any impact on Bioware whatsoever. Especially considering they now have sales of over 1.3 million units worldwide. Good luck with your petition.

With 7billion people on the planet, 1.3M copies is really nothing
The global population has nothing to do with it, the market for games is not that big
