Great, now we'll get to grind for hours for gold instead of materials.

Getting the patches from Josie's tree that give you more profits should help as well. Snoufleurs from Emprise du Lion give a lot of cash per stacks as well.

Grinding snouflers for cash is just the same as grinding them for mats
But gold was ok to come by if one cleared the game completely. Fade-touched mats were hard to come by regardless of how much time one spent playing the game.

For the longest time, I wasn't sure how I felt about closing the dupe exploit. I play using a keyboard and mouse, so it wasn't really possible to do, and I can't seem to get the Cheat Engine to work for me for whatever reason, so I had to grind to get mats one way or another. But I will say that I am surprised by the alacrity with which they closed this exploit, even before they fixed the content that was supposed to be in the game all along (I'm looking at you, Hinterlands mosaics). I mean, who cares? It only ever affected single-player mode. I don't care what somebody else does in their single-player game, and I don't expect anybody to care what I do in mine. Evidently, my expectations were a bit off.
I was a PC guy all my life until the past 3 years. I haven't had the time, money, or desire for a good rig. Modern gaming companies turned me off. Origin is, and I'm not joking here, the main reason I quit PC gaming. Up until EA became the 30+% market share powerhouse they are I had a great time modding, hacking, cracking all of my software and if I pirated and I liked the software I would buy the best version of it and all the expansions. Then EA came around and started ruining what was the future and is now the present of gaming. I saw it with microtransactions, banhammers, acquisitions of developers that were my top 3 and unfinished/rushed titles. I only bought my PS3 3 years ago and never went back. I do miss it sometimes though. For the longest time, I wasn't sure how I felt about closing the dupe exploit. I seriously suggested public beta testing a little more than a week ago in another thread and some people thought I was nuts for suggesting public beta testing for a single player game. Go me!
I just hope patch 5 includes fixing the constant crashes.

If you're that stuck for gold. Use cheat engine.

You seem to forget that console users CAN'T.
...this guy
Report him for his bait.
They probably didn't think of it until you suggested it
I'm 100% behind it. I've liked a bunch of posts saying 1.02-1.03/4 should've had it.
That was not meant to imply they actually listened to me. I'm just happy I had a good idea. Let's hope its successful. ![]()

Would a gaming mouse help you out with macros?
I've got a gaming mouse, but at present, only the left and right mouse buttons are bindable. Patch 5 is supposed to address this.
Sorry, but I'd rather not get into the politics. Origin is annoying in the sense that I get rubber-banding in a single player game (?!), but that's about the extent of my opinion.
I've modded 3 engines, but unless they release a toolset, I'm probably not going to try modding Frostbite. The Infinity Engine had WeiDU, and that was reasonably user-friendly. Eventually, I learned to work the NWN2 Toolset, so I've got a mod out for that and another that is permanently stalled because... shiny. I've got 3 DAO mods at various stages of completion (we'll see what happens with them). But I make story mods, not textures or items, so me modding in Frostbite 3 doesn't look likely. I'd love to because the environments are so beautiful, but without a toolset and access to game resources, no story mods. So yeah, that's the basis for my attitude of "None of my business what you do with your game." I'm not hypocritical enough to say that one person's tweaks and exploits are cool but another person's are not.
My rig is about a year old, built myself. I was thinking about upgrading the video card from a Nvidia 770 to a 980, but then my water heater died and the thermostat broke on my furnace, so I'll have to make do for a while. It will serve.

From the blog post:
Note: A previous version of this post incorrectly stated that rebinding mouse buttons would be available in the patch 5 beta. Unfortunately we were not able to get this feature into the beta, but are working on it for the future. We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused
The Black Emporium + the fixed dupe glitch suddenly makes more sense. While I think it is good they'll give the player the option to buy some mats with gold, I don't like the idea it will only be possible in a paid DLC that should have really been at least in the deluxe version since launch (which was for extra 10 USD / EUR really weak, this was actually the first DA game that didn't include a free DLC with the special edition). I am surprised more and more each day that there actually aren't microtransactions like in AC:U.
EDIT: Moved the 2nd part of this post to the Black Emporium thread to avoid offtopic here.

I read both. I haven't heard it's paid yet and I have a feeling it won't be. I actually have a gut feeling this was meant to be included in the game upon release but they were left with little options.
The dupe removal still doesn't make sense to me because I'll still have to grind gold so they need to fix that too. We need more than 127 gold. If they fix the inflation rate with this patch to make the dupe glitch not even something worth doing really then hey, I'll admit I'm wrong about this. Until then...my point stands
Hmm, you might be right. If they release it for free or at the very least as a part of the deluxe edition, then kudos to them for being both nice and smart.
Yeah, in the end it does not really matter much if one has to grind for gold or grind for schematics or fade-touched materials. But still, money are a tiny bit easier to come by than some fade-touched materials or schematics.
