interesting, you do exactly the same, except you're forcing exploits to game while players wants it entirely without exploits. How would it make you feel if you completed reached the highest level in lets say D3 hardcore mode put a lot of effort to it (and achieve light feeling of accomplishment) and then someone post a video on youtube showing some exploit which would make the game so easy it wouldn't require any effort at all. I want game to be hard (but balanced, not just ridiculously overpowered enemies which one shot you and have gazillion HPs) and I don't want any exploits/cheats in it so that if anyone complete the game on highest difficulty they have to put in same effort (or somewhat more or less depends on how good they are) than me.
Why does it matter to you how other people play the game? If you finish the game with the best you can get without having to use an exploit and feel a sense of accomplishment for it then that's awesome. And why shouldn't you, that takes time and effort. But not everyone feels the same way or has the time and energy to do that. Why not instead be proud of yourself for achieving something a lot of other people probably won't, wining without taking the easy way. Someone else using cheats in single player does not take away from your own accomplishments.
It's really easy to choose not to use them when you're against them even though they might be there. If you take them out though, the people who might want them won't have a choice whether to use them or not. Not everyone who picks up DA is a strategic player or a purist. Some people want to play for story or romance and couldn't care less about side quests and gear. Others are completest and want to be able to say they found all the things in the game even if they have to farm, grind, or cheat. The disappointment with the removed exploits effects a portion of the game audience who doesn't mind, or enjoys using them as part of their gameplay experience.
Regardless, I do wish there was a decent way to accelerate additional play throughs. Exploits were a sort of unsanctioned way to do that. Take those away and it just means one more thing people who go for repeats will potentially have to slog through. It'd also be great if they'd not keep breaking things every time they try to fix them...
