New loots mean absolutely nothing. It doesn't allow you to get a bunch of the rare minerals, it doesn't have any superior method of getting any type of resource easier, etc.

It has one dragon you can fight. Woopdie ****** do. That doesn't do anything that you were complaining about.

And the DLC isn't overpriced. It offers content at a reasonable price while it does not fix the problem that the glitch fixed.

Really? 1 dragon? That's it?
I have been avoiding talk of it since it hasn't been released on my platform yet

Well, you can. As in you set up and/or acknowledge the rules and then admit when you broke them.

But yes if you unabashedly exploit and consider it just part of your game, then its not cheating. 'Cheat Codes' cheated the 'original game'... but just to make it a 'different game'. Since its your game, there isn't any cheating of the 'different game'. The 'different game' is all that matters.

If I set up a Monopoly game and collectively decide with the other players to minimize the mortgage costs for property, that's not 'cheating', but just changing the rules. Using an exploit in a SP game is effectively just changing the rules for yourself.

That still doesn't change the aspect of designer creative ownership over the game though. Thus patches that remove exploits. You want to exploit, express your displeasure so Bioware has a better mind about it in the future. Otherwise, look to mods. Just my position on this.

Did Dragon age inquisition come with rules?

It's more like they set up a monopoly game and found out people were having fun, so they went and took away all the pieces.

I also don't call them "cheat codes", I call them fun codes.

Well I stupidly d/l the latest patches and tried the game on my new character and my god how boring and tedious it is without the duping exploit.  I may give up on this character and just stick to the other 3 that I finished with before the patch and not bother with any new characters.

I think its mind boggling that people would complain about bugs being fixed.

I'm viewing these exploits a bit like weeds (please bear with me a moment).

A weed (says wikipedia) is a plant considered undesirable in a particular situation, "a plant in the wrong place". Examples commonly are plants unwanted in human-controlled settings, such as farm fields, gardens, lawns, and parks. Taxonomically, the term "weed" has no botanical significance, because a plant that is a weed in one context is not a weed when growing in a situation where it is in fact wanted.

So in the game, an exploit is not a bug as such, because it's not a broken feature, it's more akin to a plant growing in the wrong place, and to some people, a pretty plant at that, just not where the gardener intended.

The gardener has every right to dig it up, but those who were enjoying looking at it might ask for something as pretty to be planted nearby.

NEWS FLASH: The exploits are still up and running in both DA:O and DA2 so Bioware are happy it seems for ppl to cheat/exploit the previous 2 Dragon Age games.

What does that matter? They don't want people doing it in DA:I. It's their game and their right.

3 Important things to note.

1. They will NEVER re add the exploit back to the game.

2. Complaining about it is absolutely pointless.

3. They fixed the bug because they wanted to its their game and their right.

All they said was keep it civil, which I surprisingly agree with.

Actually it's my game, because everything is mine now. It's kind of the law or something.

Yes. All games come with rules. We can do with these rules (as they are not laws) what we wish, but Bioware doesn't have to make it easy for us.

Monopoly is MP, whatever.

Not at all
I'm going by what's been said about it ITT
If you can dupe then the DLC wouldn't take as long, instead you have to grind which artificially extends the game time
Nuff said

Depends on your country. Are EULAs enforceable where you live?

It's a work in progress.
Once Bioware figures it out they'll let you know.

It seems this thread had a recent push of shills. I don't really get the waves that come and go other than they are paid to do it.

Whatever is developer intent, stated or otherwise. If they patched it, its their intent being reinforced.

Ignorance of the rules if they're not explicitly stated is fine. Go ahead and exploit in your single player game. I've done that sort of thing plenty of times myself. It still doesn't necessarily match with the concept of 'rules' to the developer.

Complaining is also very fine. I'm actually in agreement that this exploit at least should not have been high on Bioware's priorities, especially compared to so many other issues. I think Bioware needs to see this feedback. I just don't think your opinion is true - all games have rules, explicitly stated or otherwise. They all have degrees of boundaries ('rules') by even existing. Players can manipulate those rules (mods in the case of video games is an example)....

...but so can developers, with exploit patching. Bioware apparently wanted to reinforce a rule about gold in DAI. Sucks for some. Let them know that. I just don't like disingenuous assertions (/Shepard) about games and Bioware. "Where are these rules", lol really? Without rules there is no game. We can debate all we want about what rules actually apply, but there is most definitely rules in a game. Come now.

Just personally curious - do you include me as a shill for remotely defending Bioware here even though I would rather the exploit (at least currently) not be fixed, or at least not treated on patch priority?

I've only been more recently here because I decided I had the time to read up on this thread.

I'm not paid by anyone. I'm actually very poor now compared to a couple years ago :(

I had no issues with game before the patches. Yet I can't start a new game and use custom world state because it forces to download this 'patch' that has removed a number of amulets and forces their farming game on me.

Would much prefer them sticking to fixing bugs that break gameplay instead of options that enhance it.
