Just personally curious - do you include me as a shill for remotely defending Bioware here even though I would rather the exploit (at least currently) not be fixed, or at least not treated on patch priority?

I've only been more recently here because I decided I had the time to read up on this thread.

I'm not paid by anyone. I'm actually very poor now compared to a couple years ago :(

Nah, a paid shill wouldn't go into so much. They get paid per post, not per character.
You've expressed you don't agree of the priority of the patch, on this at least we can find common ground.
An exploit is something that shouldn't be fixed. How many times have they remade final fantasy tactics?
Have they ever removed the exploit for summoners to acquire their summons for free without job points? No! Have they ever removed the dupe exploit? No! You know why? Because gamers on their second + play through enjoyed it so much that it made the game a classic. It was these exploits that helped paved the way for remakes of the game 2 decades later.

Maybe they fixed the exploit because they HAD TO and not because they wanted to? Some undisclosed agreement with Xbone or Ps4.

It might be because of trophies or achievements on the new consoles. It also could be because of micro-transactions maybe they didn't want exploits in the game because of them.

This has crossed my mind.

Even a smaller thing like 'we don't want as many (as otherwise) people decked out and powerful because then they won't feel as incentivized by the Tier 4ness of Jaws of Hakkon'.

...is maybe maybe possible. If it is true, they'd never tell us.

Whatever is developer intent, stated or otherwise. If they patched it, its their intent being reinforced.

Ignorance of the rules if they're not explicitly stated is fine. Go ahead and exploit in your single player game. I've done that sort of thing plenty of times myself. It still doesn't necessarily match with the concept of 'rules' to the developer.

Complaining is also very fine. I'm actually in agreement that this exploit at least should not have been high on Bioware's priorities, especially compared to so many other issues. I think Bioware needs to see this feedback. I just don't think your opinion is true - all games have rules, explicitly stated or otherwise. They all have degrees of boundaries ('rules') by even existing. Players can manipulate those rules (mods in the case of video games is an example)....

...but so can developers, with exploit patching. Bioware apparently wanted to reinforce a rule about gold in DAI. Sucks for some. Let them know that. I just don't like disingenuous assertions (/Shepard) about games and Bioware. "Where are these rules", lol really? Without rules there is no game. We can debate all we want about what rules actually apply, but there is most definitely rules in a game. Come now.

Rules don't apply to role playing games because it's a game where you're supposed to be able to decide how you want to play it. When a choice is taken away, it either ceases to be a role playing game or is diminished as a role playing game. But of course this is an unspoken rule that you won't be able to find anywhere.

So the "law" you spoke of earlier was --- the law of the jungle, maybe? Or am I missing a reference?

You're missing a reference under a reference that is unreferencable and thus has no reference... Or does it?

I won't see it because it doesn't exist.

Get back to me when you can instant level to 25 because you want to. Its how you want to play it, right?

On second or third playthroughs of SOME games yes!
The metagame is critical to a completionist and after a full playthrough, many many many people do not want to grind to get to that point when they simply want to fill the void left by choices made in past playthroughs. The keep is a perfect example, it shapes the entire meta game from the get go. Many people want another playthrough with Different cameos or choices.

I wouldn't mind if the Black Emporium acts as a significant optional boost, without getting into exploit territory.  I mean it'll be several months since release, and Bioware may want people to be as comfortable as possible with getting into Tier 4/Lv 20+/Post-Game/Alternate-Story-Playthrough content. I see your point.

They're not going to unfix an exploit though, sorry.

You don't know that
They changed an entire story ending because we spoke loud and clear.
Giving up isn't an option.

I'm curious what it would take for some of the blind loyal supporters to get upset. If DA:I patch the random schematics re-spawning in uncleared chests would you guys OK with this be outraged then? Cause it is too 'cheating' their random loot system, where they expect you to do 100 playthroughs to get all high level gear.

Obviously I'll need it.
These devs HAVE to see that people are dropping like flies. They killed their own game.

I personally would be happy with a reply from Bioware and and/or a decent in game "fix" for the problem that the glitches fixed.

It's almost as if bioware wants to go out of business.

It's halfway to summer and no response yet.
This thread is absolute proof that BW does not care about legitimate concerns.

I don't see what greed has to do with this. Is there some way for Bio to monetize the exploit being closed?

Dunno if I speak for anyone but me, but this wouldn't bother me. I don't even know what all the high-level gear is, so I wouldn't know if I've got all of it or not.

I was just stating that there greedy(avoiding paying customers imo is greedy) and we will see if they add micro transactions with the BE, I hope they don't but I think they will

There are hundreds of schematics. Some I haven't even seen yet.

I would obviously be annoyed but not because of the fact they patched an exploit. Rather it would be that the schematics that they do sell - because they do sell Tier 3 (and now tier 4) - are aesthetically displeasing to me (and only with regard to the arms and legs, not the core).
