Sorry know this thread is more or less suppose to be about the gold glitch but I really miss the dupe item glitch gathering materials is far from fun in this game at least to me it is, if they can't put that little glitch back in the game could we at least get a patch or something to put in a vendor that sells materials? Apologies for the semi OT post.

Well, the gold glitch really came hand in hand with the dupe glitch because you made gold with duped resources (dragon tooth). So, your post is completely OT.

I don't think Bioware will re-add the glitch on purpose. It was just unnecessary to fix it in the first place because as far as I can tell it didn't harm anyone. So, my hopes are up for a merchant that comes with the Black Emporium that sells some of the rare mats. Especially fade-touched resources. Additionally, I hope Bioware won't fix the armor/weapon dupe.

Nothing to worry about. Some of the fixes on the SP mode really hindered some players' experiences and you're not the only one.

What you WANT to do with it does NOT matter. Its what you CAN do with it that DOES.

Which doesn't effect anyone else, or the achievements, whatsoever. Just the individual player. Trying to force your way of playing the game onto others makes you look little more than a petulant child.

The truth hurts.

You don't know what that word means. As you haven't spoken anything resembling the "truth".

This statement is lie period.

He says without expanding as to how, while not replying to anything else that I said, illustrating his inability to come up with an intelligent reply.

Excuse me for trying to enlighten a few dense minds as to why that is the case.

The only thing you are doing is making yourself look like an ignorant child.

@Ted. It's 6PM and I am bored. That is why I am replying to him.

Yea, but that isn't as amusing as getting him to embarrass himself on the public forum really. But fine; I'll stop.

I just wonder if PC players now have the ability to get round this patch either using a mod or CE to dupe items which would make patching the exploit pointless unless it's really aimed at console players only.

They have trainers that do it for them. Making the "fix" pointless for them as they can easily work around it via a trainer. Or CE.

PC players can use the "cheat engine" to do it, so yeah, only console players are screwed.

At the risk of showing some empathy, I picked up a piece of fade-touched Silverite (I think it was) that allows the build up of 'Guard on hit' when equipped on a crafted armour or weapon. And wow, running around with a party where one of my mages or rogues has full guard, is awesomely useful.

But then you want to equip another, and it occurs that finding another piece of fade-touched Silverite is going to be random or never...

I don't want to resort to exploits, but if I could reliably access further limited rare materials, even if at a steep grinding or gold price, that would be both helpful and reassuring.

Can only equip one +5 guard on hit on a character. You'd have to go for the +3 (Fade-Touched Obsidian) and +2(forget what it is, I think it is cloth or leather though) versions if you want to stack that effect.

Sorry, I meant to build the effect on another character in the party, but thanks.

Running around with 4 party members, all with heal on kill and guard on hit would be a great load out, and I wouldn't mind not having it in 10 minutes, just be able to achieve it reliably  :)

Using the exploits can make getting the achievements way easier. You can start the game go collect a few rare ore/hide/cloth. Use the exploit to turn them into large stacks of rare materials and gold. Go to 2 of the towns and buy out all of the schematics. Now you can use the schematics you bought with your cheated gold and the large stacks of rare materials you cheated and craft your party full set of armors/weapons and accessories all with maxed out stats like "heal on hit/kill" or uber high critical chance and damage. Now you are literally 10x stronger then you started. WHAT? there's achievements for beating the game on nightmare? EASY now that I have cheated. WHAT? achievements for collecting 50k gold. Easy with cheating. WHAT? achievements for beating missions or killing dragons. Easy now that I have cheated.

You still claim that the exploits do not effect achievements whatsoever? REALLY?

I was in a forth playthrough before even seeing Fade-Touched Silverite and that was after some farming-- which I freaking hate. I was so excited to finally have some... only to see it was the other kind of Fade-Touch Silverite. Not the good guard one. I said curse words that I am pretty sure don't even exist.

They got rid if the glitch. Fine. Just fix the reason people liked the glitch to begin with! The loot and gathering need an overhaul. All I am saying. Overhaul!

I'm with the people inquiring about some form of reliable method to getting these materials that tend to be rare. I never got a chance to use the glitch, since I usually save that kind of thing for playthroughs down the road, but now I hoard everything, since I'm paranoid I won't find others XP

I didn't get a chance either, but I won't lie-- I would have used those glitches like a cheap date had they not patched it.

This makes perfect sense.

Actually, the guard piece I found was in the Frostback Basin, so maybe the JoH dlc does have 'more to find'...

I haven't played much since then. I did play a bit of JoH, but school and work has prevented me from doing much beyond scooting about a little. I am waiting for the BE to be released before starting a new playthrough. I am really hoping you can buy rare items there and I am also hoping that with the release, there will be some loot fixes. Hope springs eternal-- so they say.

5 hours into the game I'm level 4. Closed both lvl 12 rifts EASY on nightmare. My axe has like 175 damage 12% crit chance, 25% heal per kill. Also my armors stacked with more HoK and str/crits. Got as far as Val Roy and Redcliff was able to get some nice schematics. All I did is run around and get a few rare materals and I'm already king. This is just the begining of the game If I kept on going this exploit would sure make clearing the maps and getting achievments a lot eaiser.

Oh wait thats right this exploit don't effect achievements whatsoever.

Nope. It doesn't. That's just all on you and how you use it. Doesn't effect anyone else. But you aren't that bright so I don't expect much reasoning from you anymore really.

Your posts are just so edgy and insightful. You have so much to teach and so much injustice to fight that I feel it's wasted here. You should really use your energy to rally for all equal play. PC users have been using cheat engines and console cheats for ages now. Think of all those achievements they got! What about all those mods that change stats on weapons and armors, making the game too easy. Those achievement thieves need your righteous protest. I think you should start your own thread making a plea for Bioware to ban all mods and anyone who uses a cheat engine of any kind! Make sure to insist all mods be banned. First it's hair and the next thing you know, BAM! They're cheating!

I know I will rest easy knowing that there is someone out there who cares so deeply about single player achievements. They are the most important thing in the whole entire world. Better yet, I think you should boycott these forums. That will really shows those cheaters! Your absence will be a sacrifice, I know-- but if anyone can do it, it's you. Good luck, sir!

On a serious note: All those things can also be achieved with a lot of patience and farming. You can also go to the Hissing Wastes as soon as it opens up and get Tier 3 schematics. Making the game easy isn't exclusive to using the glitch. Yet, I haven't seen anyone begging Bioware to somehow make farming obsolete or to prevent people from going to higher levels too early.
