Hopefully we'll hear some news on Spring 2016 and release on Fall 2016. It's supposed to be like the original Mass Effect, customizations, customizations, and freedom.

It won't be. If you want to have an indication of what it's gonna be like, play DA:I and then add 2 more years of EA/Bioware knowledge of working with Frostbite 3 and a twist of Mass Effect (more shooter than PnP RPG).

And I'm really liking where that takes me, to be honest.

I like the shooter part of mass effect but I hope they dont take out the rpg in it. thats what makes mass effect well mass effect.

They can't destroy the RPG any more than they did in ME2.

With that said, 2015 looks like it's going to be a big year for games anyway! If Mass Effect comes out 2016 then I am happy because that gives me time to play all the other amazing games this year.

It's been almost three years now, probably 2016. And boy, this game is getting a larger development cycle than ME3, and that was one amazing game. Getting supa hyped for this.

Rumors point to a 2016 release date, which seems very likely. I presume we'll see a reveal soon, latest being E3.

 

For giggles I'll say it's either gonna come out February 16th, 2016, or May 17th 2016

Battlefield Hardline: Q1 2015

Star Wars: Battlefront: Q4 2015 (planned co-release with Ep.VII)

Battlefield 5: Q4 2016

Mirror's Edge 2: When ready

Next Mass Effect: TBA

 

So we have 2 games coming out that are definitely going to get large media/marketing coverage, so I'm going to say no to Fall 2016 (BF5 marketing season). Pre-Star Wars Battlefront is too early.

 

We know that the game has been under development for a couple of years now, with development reaching the middle-point in spring 2014, so I'd guesstimate;

- First gameplay trailer at Pax East 2015, gameplay and release date at E3 2015.

- Release: First half/Summer of 2016.

 

or

 

- First gameplay trailer at Pax Prime 2015 (second at Pax South 2016), gameplay at Pax East 2016 and release date at E3 2016.

- Release: Q1 2017.

(But from what we have, this seems way too late)

Maybe. DICE will most likely unveil Battlefront during GDC. Not sure if EA wants to show two big scifi games in one week.

 

EA will announce all games planned for FY2016 during the Q4 FY2015 Earnings Conference Call, probably on May 7th. If we haven't heard anything by then, ME:N will be Q2 2016 or later.

 I / IV  2016 is a safe bet i think, maybe II/ IV, but fall 2016 would surely surprise me.

"2016" is my nebulous projection now. I was saying March 2016 for a couple of years, but of late I've doubted it. I could just as soon see it releasing eight months later.

As always I feel it worth reminding folks, NME wasn't in full-scale development until a fair amount of time after ME3 hit, it didn't even have its Lead Writer until some time in 2013, it's being helmed by a new primary studio, it's the first installment not remotely related to the original narrative vision, it's going bigger, it's handling a new engine (mitigated by DAI expertise) and last but not least, release window tradition often amounts to little more than happenstance in this industry; what has occurred in the past is not always relevant next to the sheer number of things that change over time.

I hope it's not *too* much like me1, because in my opinion the Mass Effect games got better with each release. I hope they don't retract too much from the things they changed from 2 to 3 just because of the ending. But I'll stick to the topic right now and I think spring 2016 will be the release date. we'll get an announcement at either e3 or n7 day.
