how do you use the focus ability? is that something you can use? is it one of the power moves that you have? also the rift power it seems that you can use it only once. it recharges slowly. is there a perk to make it recharge faster

Eventually you'll be able to find/craft gear that speeds up focus gain. But yeah, focus abilities are meant to be super-powerful abilities that you can't use every fight. You generally want to save focus for boss battles.

Focus is your super-powerful ability that takes ages to build up. You usually only want to use it on bosses or as a Well, **** button. You get Mark of the Rift + whatever one you get from your specialization. You build focus by doing damage and pulling off combos (like shattering frozen enemies), you can get gear to speed focus gain up and you can spend a SP to make combos give more focus. You lose focus on being KOed.

At the start you have only one bar but you can spend inquisition perks in the forces tree to get up to 3. Mark of the Rift always uses one but you're class one will get more powerful for each bar.

MoR definitely gets more powerful when more bars are spent. Bites a large chunk off of a dragon's health.

Dose it? hmm maybe I'm wrong. I was using my class one (thousand cuts) more.

Oh if you play a Tempest you can cheese the focus cost by using Flask of Fire and then the Focus ability but don't do that, it's cheep and almost certainly not intended.

You don't. There are perks in the Inquisition's Forces tab that increase your focus

I play on Hard and mostly use it for fun. Bad guy gloats and sends his minions and I activate lvl3 mark of the rift. Three seconds later everything is dead. Works well for me and saves me the extra 10 seconds I would have used to kill them in other ways
