You can't teach people the whole "Everyone's a winner" crap you're just setting them up to fail later in life.

Yea, something tells me that the league isn't set up properly or something. 

Especially when this team is beating some of their other opponents by pretty large margins.

You know I am one of those crazy people who think that many people (especially in America) takes sports and especially children's sport way, way too seriously. I am sure we have heard of all the antics of the crazy coaches and parents who push things too far. I have no problem with kids playing sport but for goodness sake it should not be their whole lives or over shadow their academic work.  I also should point out that I played several sports in high school, university and even some semi-pro sports after school. So I do appreciate the value of sport and what it can do for someone. I enjoyed sport for the comradery, social aspects and it's health benefits. I am also a natural competitor.

 

That being said, I don't believe the winning couch here did anything wrong. The bottom line is that he had a responsibility to win. That is why he was hired to be the coach. His only option to save the opposing team embarrassment would have been to stop playing which would have resulted in a forfeit for his team. This would have been counter to his job. In my opinion, it was the losing couch who was at fault. He/she knew by half time at least they would not win. He/she should have forfeited the game at half time and saved both sides more embarrassed. He/she was going to lose anyway, Sometimes you just have to fall on your sword. so to speak.

Political Correctness strikes again, ugh. 

 

I hate Political Correctness, it is so stupid, just like the suspension.

 

It wasn't as if the coach and his team were dancing around and mocking the other team, they won fair and square, conducting themselves ethically all the while. 

 

The other team and their coach should have took this as an opportunity to motivate themselves to improve, even if they continued to get stomped despite their best efforts, this would have been a good learning opportunity for them about how the world works (you can try your best, but you aren't always going to come out on top, occasionally you are going to get destroyed and fail at what you set out to do, sometimes even miserably). 

 

Instead the winning coach got punished and now the losing team will likely learn nothing and will not be motivated to seek improvement, good going. Way to drive a learning opportunity straight into the ground and give a false impression of how the world works.

 

Also, way to take a game way too seriously.
