So about the rape thing. I doubt that was ever intended to be an option for the player to do. I think Gaider was just saying there was to be a story about a rape having occurred to someone in the past. My guess is that it involved Sera being raped by a human male during her childhood. Which would explain her sexual preference. The story may have even culminated in her finally tracking the rapist down with the Inquisitor's help and possibly killing him. It would make sense that a story like that would be scrapped then. Way too much drama for what the game is supposed to be.

Personally, I am content with the romance options because my main character fits with Cassandra perfectly. So even if she were the only romance option, my playthrough would be well met. But I do agree that more options for other players is always a good thing.

The story that was cut had to do with the Envy demon throwing itself as you using Leliana's form. The whole Fade sequence was different at that point - it would have looked like you won at Therinfall and were back at Haven. The scene apparently telegraphed there was something wrong but you could go for it anyway.

It was not another rape as a back story situation and certainly not the idiotic idea that women enter into F/F relationships because of a sexual assault.

Not at all, and thank you. I hadn't heard that one because I haven't taken Cole on that quest.I actually don't mind the inclusion of rape as a plot device, I just want it to be done sensibly and "well" (if I can phrase it that way...) An example of this is during the city elf origin in DAO.However, in most media it's just a trope used to add an extra level of danger for the female character, which is not something that would be used for a male character. That kind of use I don't like. It is trite, and writers can do better.

I think a VERY interesting plot twist could have something like the quiz having a flash in her/his head during the envy demon Templar scenario where the quiz is face down grunting. It could give rise to real anger towards demons in these games if you have no option to avoid it if you took this path

I think a VERY interesting plot twist could have something like the quiz having a flash in her/his head during the envy demon Templar scenario where the quiz is face down grunting. It could give rise to real anger towards demons in these games if you have no option to avoid it if you took this path

To those asking about my pervious statement, the hypothetical storyline would not be needed to explain anything about Sera, but it could explain something about her. That was my only point. It's possible she never found males sexually attractive, or it's possible she did at one time and then stopped because of something traumatic. It's all really moot though, since no such storyline exists in the canon. I was just speculating on how the rape story Gaider talked about may have been implemented in the game. Like I wrote before, I don't think it would have involved the Inquisitor actually making the choice to rape someone.

Well, ive dated & been sexual with women & it didn't take a guy sexually assaulting me to do it. Is a dumb stereotype by guys who can't imagine 2 women being together & it not being for their benefit

It's hanging there.. at the moment there is not much to discuss since patch 3 hasn't been released to consoles yet. No idea if it even will. In other hand one of devs did say that he or someone else from BW has been reading the thread so I guess that means that the issues there at least are known by BW which is good though. Hopefully that knowledge transforms into patches as well, we'll see.

I've known both women who've been raped who exclusively like the same types of guys over and over who have been raped more than once by different boyfriends and I've known women who have been raped who swore off men entirely.
Plus the original comment mentioned how Sera turned gay due to being molested as a child which if you look at THOSE numbers it's the majority struggle their entire lives with their sexuality so you both are missing the point entirely

Surprised the thread hasn't been locked yet.

Because as it turns out, it's a recurring theme in all 3 Dragon Age games which means it's 100% story related. Admit it or not, it's real, it happens every day, and billions have it happen to them. So play the blind card all you want because it may be uncomfortable to talk about but if Bioware wanted to make everyone comfortable they would have added a purple unicorn as a mount.
