After patch 3, crafted shields have 0 armor rating

Well, sorry for being a resident of the Undercity. Maybe one day I'll experience the radiance that is the surface.  :P

 

I felt really bad for PS3 though, even then when the patches were released for PC and Xbox, the patches were delayed by, what, 6 to 9 months for Playstation?

Damn glad i turned off auto-patching with the mess patch 2 made, xD.

 

Tho now im playing in "offline mode", does this effect achievements?. Doing my first nightmare run so that would suck if it does.

Now it works for me too. It didn't the last three times I started the game. Not sure what's different now.

 

On the good side - while research items are still put under "Valuables", they no longer show up on the Sell screen.

Sorry for quoting myself. Found out what killed the walk toggle for me.

 

With the following game properties active - meant to circumvent the FPS locks of the game:

 

-GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99 -GameTime.MaxSimFps 59.99 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 59.99+

 

the walk toggle only turns walking on, but not off.

 

Clearing the game properties removed the problem, and the walk toggle functions normally.

this is unbelievable... now they're gonna break people who DIDN'T have their games broken before! way to go Bioware! Catastrophe incarnate lololol

Being one of the few whose game wasn't broken, I've been dancing on eggshells all along from the public outcry and desire for a quick patch, because I had a bad feeling it would lead to **** like this.  I guess I'll wait for a hotfix

This is getting ridiculous.

And the walk toggle only works one way. You can't go back to running. (Edit: Unless I disable the 60fps fix, apparently. I hope they patch that as well.)

i tried to, but i need more data.

used crafted shield (damage received from crestwood lvl 11 druffalo ~140) and then non-crafted one (another 11 lvl druffalo ~260 damage received), both shields have similar attributes, the difference is armour rating (crafted one is better, obviously). i think it's only visual bug

I can't see any changes with shields or armor. Everything I just crafted has the proper armor ratings.

 

Does this only happen with masterwork schematics? I haven't tested those yet.

Most likely a tool tip bug. Given they were attempting to fix other tool tip bugs it makes sense.  It also makes me think the the tool tip data catch sub routine is a pile of dung.

The shields I had crafted prior to the patch all display 0 armor rating now. The new ones are fine. I don't think it's just a tool tip issue though.

I can't say because I came home checked out the forum, and saw all this.  Not even gonna try until the hot fix.  I'm speculating because of a lot the issues with not only crafting but skills are simply tool tip issues.  God bless you guys playing and reporting, we need facts at this point.

My experience is that the walk toggle is a problem due to the FPS modification which isn't something Bioware has supported so that one isn't their fault.

As far as I can tell the shields display properly if you've just crafted them but they get b0rked for your old shields.

They could have not locked the game at 60fps so yes it is their fault. There is absolutely no point of locking fps for any PC game unless its a console port.

Same here. Also, I crafted a new shield to replace my 0 armor one and it randomly disappeared after saving/loading. Was able to reproduce the bug at least 5 times, restarted the game, then it worked fine for a couple tries, but now I'm constantly paranoid about my items just going up in a puff of smoke.

 

Yours is the second report I've seen of this.  I'm not making anything until this is acknowledged by Bioware and fixed, soooo... back to ESO for now I guess.

Not a display issue.  It's easy to see, look at your character stats.  "Armor Rating" and "Armor Rating: Front" are both shown there, and it doesn't take a mathlete to see that if they are both the same value, your shield is adding zero.

It's not their fault. Regardless of their reason for locking it the game shipped with 60 FPS cutscenes not supported. Using a workaround and then complaining it breaks the game is silly.

Not a display issue.  It's easy to see, look at your character stats.  "Armor Rating" and "Armor Rating: Front" are both shown there, and it doesn't take a mathlete to see that if they are both the same value, your shield is adding zero.

This doesn't mean its not a tool tip issue, as the tool tip datamine sub routine is likely pulling from the same source.  Not saying I'm right or wrong,  As I said, not even attempting to play the game right now.  The only way to know is thru testing, actual damage in battle.  As the person I was responding to did, but there needs to be more info so they can fix it.

You've missed his point entirely.

No, I'm not. The point the poster is trying to make is that Bioware should have made it so that the game can run at 60 FPS. I agree. But they didn't. Your choice is either not to play the game, play the game as shipped, or use the workaround. If you use a workaround, it's ridiculous to complain about it being unstable. That's a choice you made.

I've been playing offline for several weeks now.  I mainly do it due to getting more stable FPS if I stay offline, but I can say that Patch 2 didn't help matters.  Your achievement progress is still being logged.   When you're ready to log back into Origin, you'll get it popping up right away.  It happened to me with the Decorator achievement; I popped online in Origin in order to import a new world save and it came up even though I did it while I was offline.   :)

 

As far as the walk toggle issue goes, well...I've made it almost 2 sessions without a walk toggle, and I can still live without using it.  If I need one that badly, I'd honestly would rather use the player made mod over the one BioWare created.  When I told my husband that this game that's on the PC (and for PC gamers /sarcasm) didn't have a walk toggle as a part of the base game, he started chuckling in disbelief.  

 

The other big chuckle I got was when I showed him the first time in Skyhold in the "epic" beige causal clothes.  He calls the default Skyhold clothes "footsie pajamas," and agrees that the black recolor makes it look a lot more dignified.

And now for the consoles users? Is the patch 3 avaible, are we going to get the same patch or will he be delayed?
