And now for the consoles users? Is the patch 3 avaible, are we going to get the same patch or will he be delayed?

The console versions of the patch have to be certified by Sony/Microsoft before release, so they'll be a bit longer.

Well, the devil stay in the shades here!

If the new patch brings new bugs, nobody will want it!

So the problem is simple : hotfix on the patch 3 before release or release of the **** storm.

I'm feeling really sorry to let the PC gamers to play the mine-clearing experts for us. Good luck to you.

For all those people complaining about sloppy coding, you try coding hundreds of millions of lines of code and then try patching something without it affecting anything else. Jesus, you guys are acting like it's easy to code something like Inquisition, it really isn't. Game design isn't the butterflies and rainbows 90% of gamers think it is, there's a REASON it takes so many years to make a good game. They'll fix it, we'll live.

I'm having this problem as well.... as well as more noticeable framrate stuttering/drops/CTD crashes with nvidia GPUs.... (nvidia never again... I'm sticking with AMD).

I code for a living. I've done game programming. I wouldn't want my name associated with the PC version of this game.

When I work on a product that people are paying money for, I do everything I can to test and ensure I have more than a barely functioning product before I hand it off to the consumer.

Fixing a couple of bugs with a patch is acceptable. The amount of bugs currently present, along with the new bugs added by patch 3, (The shield bug, which Bioware allegedly didn't know about until it was brought to their attention. I don't even know how developers PLUS a QA team misses that one) is beyond negligent. Shipping a game in this state is not okay.

Flat out. It is not okay, end of argument. Lying to your consumer base is also not okay. When you advertise the PC version as a game "Made for PC Gamers by PC Gamers" (https://www.youtube....h?v=iRmjKrFnlNU) that entails proper keyboard/mouse controls, among other things. False advertisement isn't okay. I am not claiming legal false advertisement, but I can claim that they were willfully dishonest with full knowledge that the PC controls and UI were not up to par.

Also, I know for a fact that Bioware has an automated in-house build iteration system that does a rudimentary check of new code against existing code for major conflicts/issues/etc... so its not like they are checking every line by hand.

I'm with UWCE, how did the shield bug make it past QA? Did no one in QA ever make a shield and then patch the game? If they have at least one person playing the game like a normal gamer and patching it with their latest patch there is no way they could have missed it. Either the way they test is busted or the people doing the testing are busted, but something is definitely busted when major bugs were introduced with both major patches so far.

It is OK, we are the master race, who better to beta test patches?   :)

Pft, maybe for consoles. PC modders fixed most of the major bugs in 48 hours ;)

And this is why moddability is vital.

I did not have my own console when the game launched, My son lent me his PS4, and I played that until Christmas.  I had one tiny glitch, I had to Tab through my first conversation with Dorien. Thats it!!!  On Christmas I got my own Xbox 1, and the game.   Since then I have logged over 100 hours with no glitches,  So I do not want a patch, and I will not download it.   After listening since launch about all the problems on PC, and older consoles, it does not take a brain surgeon to figure out that DAI was a game developed for  and by console gamers.  Saying different is MORE than misleading.

This patch seems rushed

And yet they had forever and a day to work on it.  I guess even after vacation days are over, Biowares on vacation.

I Didn't go to school to code, nor am I being paid to code.  However, if I was, I definitely wouldn't release this kinda trash out on the public.  I'd feel too ashamed or embarrassed too.  Quit being an apologist and accept the fact that this company failed us.

You're blaming the wrong party here. DA:I was developed and optimized for AMD, since that's the hardware of the next gen consoles. EA/BioWare is also pushing AMD's Mantle as their prefered interface. That means that NVIDIA/DirectX were less important and there was less time spent on it. We see the results of that now.

(Of course, all of the above is my theory/opinion. I do not have insight in the development process of DA:I, so take it with a grain of salt. It seems very likely though.)

Yeah, I know. I shouldn't be so quick to judge on nvidia, but still... it's kind of annoying when my investment doesn't pay off.

The game is playable, but I guess I'm playing a second time with a tinge of disappointment because I expected a smooth experience instead of what I have now which is CTD and framerate drops.

Do we really need armour ratings, though? The combat seems to be all about barriers anyway.

I'm using a GTX770 and DA:I is stable, runs at 5x fps without stutters, lag or other issues and I don't have any crashes. Graphics are set to ultra/high.

:pinched: I noticed that today I decided to finish the expansion today and after I was finished I made 3-4 shields and noticed that not only did two of the shields I crafted had a ZERO armor rating but the current shield I was using and had crafted BEFORE the PATCH had lost it's armor rating as well WTF CURSES!   :crying:
