Include the following:

World Editor - allow your players to create areas and zones, similar to what we had in NVN.... and Skyrim.

Asset Editor:  Allow Players to create unique armors, characters, classes and add animations.  Same thing Skyrim does, but YOUR engine and tools will be better, so it will increase sales.

Scene Editor:  Allow players to create "cut-scenes" to DRIVE your story experience forward, and allow your players to create content with cinematic flare.  This goes way beyond Skyrim's limits and will drive sales figures up yet again, as your game is still being purchased years after it's released.

Mission Editor:  Allow your players to craft missions, and quests.  Simple enough and goes with the other features above.

Actively allow and encourage your player-base to create and update content for your game, and you will see sales numbers meet or beat Skyrim sales numbers.

Yes, I realize you will likely have to use a different engine, since you don't own the source for Frostbite.  No big deal.  Frostbite is pretty, but so are a lot of other game engines.  Know what else?  Destructible environments don't really have a place in DA.  Yes.. it's cool to smash open an occasional wall or box, but myself and thousands of other players would take TOOLs over that gimmick any day.

Drop multiplayer.  Yes, we LOVE co-op.  I mean... ?  Who doesn't like killing dragons with friends?

Buuuuutttt....... RPG fans love playing RPG's more than they love co-op.

If we had to choose between one or the other, 90% of your RPG fans would most likely choose 'more content' over 'multiplayer'.  (not an actual figure - it's a guesstimate)

Player MOD tools GIVES players more content, that YOU didn't have to create.  It's a Win Win.

That doesn't mean you can't create DLC either.  If anything, every DLC you release has MORE content that can be added to your Tool-set, not to mention your content is likely 'better' than most player content will be... and if by some happenstance, some player made content is (maker forbid) better than content you release???

Well?

We know who's going to be getting a job offer now don't we..

Bioware - you have a BETTER IP than Skyrim.  Better in every way.  Now you just need to follow suit, and give us some tools.  You'll put Skyrim sales numbers to shame.

Screw the tools. I want a ready-made great story to experience. Embarrassingly enough, Skyrim offered this more completely than DAI.

Ok.. fair enough.  I am presuming that the Story in DA4 will be good.

Skyrim had a great story? Look, DAI has its flaws, but that's just ridiculous x

See though - I thought they DID own Frostbite. I thought the whole point was that it was now an in-house engine, and that's why they're running with it.

A toolkit for this game would have earned back years worth of goodwill lost.

Is there even going to be a DA4 after this mess? The various endings are going to make it very difficult to follow up on satisfactorily.

No, Skyrim's wasn't great, and the final boss fight was lame, and the characters were barely there. However, the pacing and flow felt much better to me than this mess we got in DAI. It was absolute crap. Felt meaningless and didn't draw me in a bit.

Gundam style isn't a deal breaker for me.. sorry. Mods are fun, but Skyrim is a sandbox. The original game is painfully numb.

I agree that would be awesome, but if i had to choose, full co-op in single-player experience (even give us the option to splitscreen, it can work, people have big-ass tv's by now), and an open dragon age, i'd go with full co-op, there are so few of those, and even fewer that are good, and none that is as good as DA. dragon age would be great with it, it suits more than for it to be open.

But i really don't see why we can't have both. Multiplayer wouldn't be anything complex, just let a buddy take control of my party member instead of AI, not that hard.

One other thing, i don't think dragon age can ever work full open world, it would break story, places are supposed to be reaally far away, they would break that. Unless a open world in a smaller region then whole Thedas. But even Fereldan for example, it takes 2 weeks to go to the circle of magi from redcliff.

you guys really think skyrim told a better story?

i was never disappointed in dragon age stories (maybe some DLC) but even DA2, the whole mage vs templars? loved it, it really questioned me, it put me in a position where there was no clear solution.

The side Quests in Skyrim were a hell of a lot better. The main quest sucked though.

Skyrim and DAI both have crappy stories.

In Skyrim the mainquestline should of been focused on the civil war, and give us far longer quest line rather than to be dealing with a weaken ancient dragon.

In DA: I Using a DLC villain from the previous game was lame. The story should of been focused on the mage vs templars.... Where you can pick your side... or choose both. I would of liked to have the ability to go after the Chantry with my fellow rebel mages. Same goes for pro templars... you can save the Templar order and restore order.

I loved Skyrim's story. Don't know why. YMMV.

Not quite Morrowind, but beat the crap out of Oblivion.

Make it a free downloadable mobile game where you shoot little dragons at crystals...20 million copies achieved!

I would also like to add in that instead of adding Varric or Hawke into the game why not add in characters from Asunder? Rhys and Evangeline (They would be your companions) plus Adrian? Actually now that I think of it Adrian would of been a perfect main villain considering what she did in the novel. Cole can be another good companion.

skyrim's story was half and half.

it was the world and lore that dragged me in and drowned me in immersion.

Skyrim's main story was interesting, not great, but interesting.  Choosing between warring factions, while fighting dragons was fun.   Skyrim lacked the same Cinematic flare, romance or companion interactions that will get in DA, not to mention the DA lore is far more interesting.

If DA:I had modding tools support, a more living breathing interactive world, and more of a sandbox feel to it, i firmly believe it would have sold better than Skyrim.

Good games that allow player communities to get involved and create content, have always done well.  Historically speaking.  It's a rare gem that stands alone, strictly on it's own merit, that propels it to 20 million units sold.  (besides of course, shooting little dragons at crystals.)

Yes, I realize you will likely have to use a different engine, since you don't own the source for Frostbite.  No big deal.

They can do with Frostbite 3 as they wish, since it's an engine owned by EA, but the engine contains third party technology that they can use, but not distribute.

Aye.. the 'not distribute' part is the reason I suggested a new engine.  If they didn't have too, all the better since most of the 'internal' tools are already in place.

I do find it ironic that the makers of Frostbite are the same people who gave us BF1942, which gained popularity specifically because you could mod it.

You would think EA would get wise to the trend and how modding affects franchises for the positive.

The main quest did have some sort of cool mood to it, I think. The quest was pretty straightforward, though. I'd give it a 4 out of 10.
