Update: The shield i crafted this morning before work "Absorbing Blocking Greatshield " indeed has zero armor value.. Though below where t says 14% melee, 18% magic, etc. theres a 44armor rating stat, but its clearly NOT adding to my overall armor rating.. Kinda sucks, since i used my best T3 mats..

 

So yes, it has broken games for thsoe of us who despise cheating/exploiing/duping, etc... I have never utilized any kind of cheat!

 

Edit: My previously craft6ed "Wardens Bash" also has zero armor.. It seems the armor value was moved down to where the melee% magiuc% ranged% stats are, but its not actually adding armor value in the sliders like melee, magic, ranged resist, etc..

 

Thanks for testing this. It confirms that I'll be playing offline until they address that issue.

I'm already in survival mode:

1) turn off auto updates

2) make more world states on dragon age keep

3) make new inquisitors for each new world state

4) put post it on xbox one that reads: unplug LAN cable if playing DA:I!!!!

5) cont to profit

seems like an massive inconvenience to play 2014's Game of the Year

Can confirm the armor bug.  My shield - which I made before the patch - shows "0 armor front."

And his stats show there is indeed no additional armor calculated front, so it's not just a display bug on the shield:

The walk toggle works if you don't override the game's FPS lock. It appears to be typical console centered coding, where the program code always assumes that the game runs at fixed FPS settings, and things just go haywire when it doesn't. Anyone remember how enemy accuracy scaled with frames per second on ME 3 MP on PC? :D

This is probably why I can't toggle off walking after turning it on.... oh well...

The patch 3 did not ruin my crafted mage armor yet it did impacted my crafted shields

Not to be a doubter but is this a visual bug or is it actually zero armor in combat. I'm not disagreeing with the majority of you, this is a pretty bad bug that never should've went live.

This is a visual bug related to pre-patch shields. I just crafted a new shield and the UI updates properly with the correct value (I think). Screenshots:

This is a visual bug related to pre-patch shields. I just crafted a new shield and the UI updates properly with the correct value (I think). 

 

Incorrect.  As I posted above in my cropped and appropriately-sized screenshots, the armor values from the shield displaying zero armor gives, in fact, zero armor.

 

...what is with the giant screenshots today? lawl

 

Also, I discovered another fun fact:  any character wearing a non-crafted shield upon loading post-patch has that armor value subtracted for calculating "Armor: Front."  Her normal Armor rating was higher with a (merchant-bought) shield on.  Fortunately, removing then re-equipping the shield fixed that.  No luck with the crafted shields, though.  Looks like I'll be making new ones...

I hope the ingredients weren't too hard to get since you can't dupe the crafting items anymore.
I'll say no thanks to this "fix". Half the stuff you can't even use since many features (bleed on hit, focus gain bonus etc) don't work and still don't work.

Hard to get ingredients? Oh no... it was only T4 Dragonbone... I am sure there's a lot more where that came from.

No. The patch has, at minimum, affected the tooltip for shields crafted pre-patch. Post-past shields work fine.

 

The issue right now is whether the error is just visual or if it has a combat effect. I'm trying to find what the damage formula is for DA:I so I can test this out.

I cannot speak about this working in SP but in MP the answer is nooooooooooope.

allegedly bleed on hit means 'sundered' opposed to a physical damage over time

 

but even then i don't see it

Okay "fine" is a strong word but I just don't see this patch in particular will improve things. In fact, I'm pretty sure it will make it worse.
