Nah, a new main character in every installment is awesome. I think seeing old companions, NPCs and now PCs from the perspective of a new protagonist is a lot of fun. Dragon Age does not need another Shepard, whom the entire universe revolved around.

1. Nope. MMO combat are generally hotkey abilties and point and click auto attacks. DAO nothing but that.

2.The only thing we don't control is if the majority live of not. You do have control over there fate mostly. You control indirectly who becomes the divine, who the person acts as Divine, who stays with the inquisition, if Cullen over comes his lyrium addiction or not, If Cassandra becomes a drunk or not, if bull stays with the qun or not, If Cole becomes more human or not and more.

3.What? So every character is going to be a straight andrasitan who is straight forward no matter what, and  helps the templers and make the wardens leave? I some how did not have a character like that. The part about roleplaying is that you have to develop your character. You have to give them reason to why they do things, what there opinones are of things. What they like of hate. And you don't do that all at one, it's done over the time you play the game.

Example: My character was only looking after her own and her self for most of the beginning of the game. She, who was a female qunari, had a deep distrust with human due to her treatment from them for being a qunari. Then hushed whispers happen and all that change. She saw all the infighting and bitterness in thedus was causing it's destruction and now works to try to help all in thedus no matter the race.

You have to develop you character and evolve your character based on the events around them. Your making a new person.

4.You don't even know what crowd control is...Wow. Crowd control is a term used for managing enemies. It abilities or speculations made so the enemy does not overwhelm your characters. Example:lighting cage is a crowd control ability because it traps enemies in an area and allows for out side attack  with out you enemies running out to the attacker. Ice spells are crowd control spells. So are taunts and cloaking abilities.

5. Wrong. Rogues have the highest damages abilites in the game. It's better to use tactics and control them correctly then just ignore them in a fight and plan nothing.

6. Swapping weapon make no difference. DAI gives you all the time to plan ahead fights. You go to the tactical cam and you can see what you need in a fight. And every class and specialization have their way around fights. Learn them and prep before

I'm not even going to address 1 - 4. 5 and 6 are what need attention. Use the Tac Cam? On a PC? It's trash. Even BW admits that one. You must play on a console?

Also, how do I "plan ahead fights"? When I don't know what's ahead? Maybe on my second or third play-though I might. I'm better off going in easy mode and forgetting about it. Until the Tac Cam is fixed, planing is out of the question on the PC.

And since when does weapon swapping not make a difference? Be nice, if as a warrior, I could switch from sword and board to a big 2-hander.  Or a mage to swap staffs - fire instead of frost. Mid fight. I guess I suppose to play the game once, so I can learn all the fights, then replay and prep before the fights. Turning in a job now.

I am using Tac Cam right now on a PC.  I use my rogue in stealth to scope out the enemy. I tell companions to hold at a location. I have the rogue go into Stealth. The companions actually stay far enough away from the stealth companion as to not arouse the enemy.  I can go into Tac Cam mode to check out enemy information. I can also watch the enemy (like a dragon) as it attacks other creatures.  I know what type of dragon or enemy I will be fighting. I pull the rogue out I go plan and prepare for the fight

The tac cam is useful to me, but YMMV.

The version I'm using is pc and I pop in and out of tac cam with no problem. I did not say do the entire fight in tac cam. I said use to check out enemies and plan with it. And It's easy to plan ahead. You do this all the time in dao. Have everyone on the team hang back in hold position, stealth a rogue, check near by area in stealth, have rogue walk out. Easy.

And it make no difference because each specilation have work around with abilities. And I don't have issue with this at all on the first tiem I played the game

Did the new patch help with this? Or were you able to achieve this from launch?

It's a fair point, budget limitations.

But here's the thing - you only get disappointed about the final product if something was promised to you about that final product thus causing you to expect it will appear, but in the end it wasn't there.

For example, I don't know what kind of desk I want. But when you say, you now, I can make it bright red, I will like that and expect that. In a week you come and bring me a pale red, almost brown desk. Now I am disappointed, why did you say it will and can be done, that it will be red, if it isn't? Well, budget limitations. Well, I say, you should have known your budget limitations and thought about them before making promises.

So yes, we all know that money is very important and we understand that in the end it will make you say, okay, take this, remove that. But then you shouldn't promise anything if money is limiting you in making it happen.

This brings me to another point:

1) This is why I stopped reading details of what developers are promising, especially early on.  By now, I think gamers should adopt a "wait and see" attitude and not be so quick to salivate over pre-release information and footage.  We've had more than enough examples of that in the recent year.

2) I'm not accusing YOU of doing it, but the word "promise" gets thrown around a bit too much sometimes.  I have noticed that Bioware started putting disclaimers before pre-release footage rolled indicating that things could change.

Overall, I have noticed SOME things are different.  Like the camera isn't as close to the PC as it was in some of the pre-release footage.  I remember seeing Viv summoning a firestorm and not seeing that in the game.  I remember that scene where the inquisitor had some weird looking glyph appear in front of him and explode into several fireballs or something like that.  Didn't see that ability, per se. But not enough changes for me to rage and say they "lied" to me and vow to never buy a Bioware game.  But again, so that I wouldn't get unrealistic expectations (like thinking that a developer is going to be able to give you EVERYTHING they show at a conference), I tried to avoid that stuff as much as possible.

But I wouldn't mind having another game where I can play as the inquisitor.  Just one more.  After all, I spent so much time with them and developing them, developing the Inquisition that it would be a shame to hit the reset button.

people, go back to table top RPG, check out D&D 5ed ( all new and shiny ) then play some BG, BG2 or NWN. power of choice start with your character, DAI has no such thing. the Quizzy and Hawke are just a fantasy versions of Shepard.

Going to throw my 2  cents in and run away. I just beat the game and overall I liked it. Some of the region quests can get a bit boring at times but whatever. In addition I was a bit disappointed with the ending because I feel like it doesn't really wrap up things as neatly as I would have liked.  However the companions are well written and I enjoyed running around Skyhold and jumping off the highest points to talk to them.

Although I will say, I was expecting a bit more from this game. I was expecting a game world that dynamically changed as a result of your choices and also for the Inquisition to be a living, breathing organization . What comes to mind is the Crestwood demo I saw a couple of years ago. This demo showed the player having to make a choice between the town or the keep in the region. According to the narrator these choices would be permanent and affect the way companions thought of you. I remember Varric voicing his disapproval in a small cut scene. Another example of this would be the keep capturing. I remember it be emphasized in one demo as being a big deal, and being able to choose whether the keep was geared towards trade, espionage or military actions.

The developers made these features out to be a big  part of the game when they showed them. Even though DAI is by far a much better game than DA2, I am a bit disappointed they didn't deliver on this. However I understand that maybe the devs bit off more than they could chew and these things will probably be in ME4.  Oh well , still had a great time and looking forward to a second play through as a quanari knight-enchanter.

I prefer watching my character's story develop rather than abruptly end.

The readers choice proves it. A game with no demo which is a niche game type at a time were the majority of gamers are playing shooters winning 20 reader's choice a awards? That's not by chance.

I definitely think it was. Or there just weren't any amazing games released in 2014 which I think is what actually happened.

I mean between DA:I and a game like Destiny, DA:I is the clear winner by miles.

But between DA:I and a game like DA:O, I'd say DA:O is the better game.
