Mages or Templars:

I've flip-flopped a dozen times at least on this choice. I conscript the mages because I believe Fiona is an incompetent leader, and until new leadership is formed they are safer being under the Inquisition banners. I do want mage freedom, but the rebel mages are too weak and incompetent currently to represent the "free mages". RIP Ser Barris and boo Samson wish I could talk to Calpernia instead.

Grey Wardens:

I don't like this one either. I want to banish them so they aren't potential risks to be corrupted anymore by Corypheus in the South, but if that is really an Archdemon and a Darkspawn Magister who better is equipped to deal with that kind of threat other than the Grey Wardens? I choose to ally with the Grey Wardens. However they lack proper leadership since I left Loghain in the fade.

Orlais:

I reunite Celene and Briala. I wish I could conscript Gaspard instead of having him executed tho. The cooperation ending seems like ticking time bomb that I didn't want to go off in the middle of war versus Corypheus. But i'm pleased with Celene and Briala's union, and if Briala gets too bold I'll back Celene up, and retain my influence over her.

Divine:

Hardened Leliana as Divine. I prefer the notions of free mages and making the Chantry more inclusive. I don't think she will be able to accomplish these things without getting her hands dirty. Plus I can never soften her because I never spare the traitor agent, so it works out anyways.

Well of Sorrows:

Morrigan drank from the well. I mean she knew times infinity more about it than I. I had no interest in taking a drink of some random magical well that does Maker knows what. I just didn't want Corypheus to have it. If Morrigan wants to put her ass on the line that's her business not mine.

Inquisition:

I think I had secrets. I'm not sure who is going to take over Leliana's role as Spymaster, but she has built an impressive espionage empire for whomever her successor is.

Orlais: Gaspard rules alone

Grey Wardens: Banished from Orlais, Hawke escaped the Fade

The Divine: Cassandra

Templars: Allied, Cullen still addicted to lyrium

Inquisition: Forces

I actually pulled all this off in my first playthrough except I somehow wound up Secrets, grr.

Mine worked out interestingly enough, though I'm surprised; I tend to muck things up beautifully when it come to the epilogues. But here is what my Dalish Inquisitor managed:

Orlais: Gaspard rules, Briala pulls the strings. I enjoyed the hint that Orlesian nobles fear to do anything against Briala, since she is backed by another powerful elf.
Wardens: Exiled. Loghain disappears and Hawke was left in the Fade.
Divine: Cassandra (High Approval, Seekers reformed)
Templars: Conscripted. Cullen leads them in rejecting Lyrium, many join reformed Seekers.
Inquisition: Forces.

My canon ending (mage Trevelyan IQ):

Mages: Allied (she sure would have liked a way to get rid of Fiona, though; I might try conscripting them once just to see if there's an option to justify the decision in any way other than "they all deserve punishment" -- which my IQ would never say)
Orlais: Briala + Celene (inevitable, as she would never stand back and let Celene die)
Grey Wardens: Allied (rebuilding under Stroud's leadership)
Well: Let Morrigan drink (she was fascinated, but not willing to mess around with poorly understood, powerful ancient magics)
Divine: Leliana (softened)
Inquisition: Diplomacy

During my actual first playthrough, I ended up with a hardened Leliana as Divine. It annoys me that my IQ's endless efforts to help her and set a good example amounted to nothing because of that business with the traitor, so I've no qualms about metagaming in order to "correct" that flaw in a future run.

Templars: Allied, Cullen not addicted to lyrium (his example encouraged Templars to break the lyrium addiction)

Orlais: Celine & Briala

Grey Wardens: Allied with Inqusition, Hawke escaped the Fade

The Divine: softened Leliana

The Well : Morrigan

Inquisition: Espionage

Here's what I got in my first playthrough (Elf Mage):

Mages: Allies

Wardens: Allies, Stroud left behind

Orlais: Briala/Gaspard

Well: Morrigan (Solas convinced me not to do it)

Divine: Unhardened Leliana

Inquisition: Connections

I kind of think mine is the "best/the one that developers intended", but hey, lots of people probably think the same way about their choices:

Mages: Free

Orlais: Celene and Briala

Grey Wardens: Exiled

Hawke lives, Loghain dies

Divine: softened Leliana

The Well: Morrigan
Inquisition: Diplomacy

And none of that had anything to do with the Mage-Templar War.

But it was the result of magic. And in particular the insane ambitions of a single Mage wanting to become a God.

As a Templar, the point I would make would be to show how even if a hundred Mages are perfectly tame, the potential for disaster caused by a single one is pretty significant, if not world-devouring.

Orlais: Shadow War (everyone left alive)

Wardens: Exiled, Hawke alive

Divine: Cassandra (high approval, reformed Seekers)

Templars: Conscripted (Cullen off lyrium, They stay with the Inquisition)

Inquisition: Forces

Huh... just looking at the Celene list, I think I need to play through the ending again for my main save. I know I got something completely different from the others listed. Basically Celene (like Leliana) rules by fear and blood. Executed Gaspard, put Celene on the throne, didn't tell her Briala helped. I honestly forget what happened with Briala - though I'm positive she wasn't exiled (I would've loaded an earlier save if that happened), and I don't think she was made an ambassador (when I first saw a video of someone doing that, I originally thought that was the "reunite Celene and Briala" ending that I originally wanted to get)... 0o

I'm really curious now - what did I actually do for that mission? o0

Edit: woops didn't read the last one apparently... yikes. I guess I accidentally got Briala killed. 0o

Anyway - ideal version of my canon playthrough

Celene/Briala reunited
Wardens exiled/Hawke saved
Divine: Cassandra/rebuilt seekers/high approval
Mage alliance
Inquisition - either Connections or Forces (I got connections originally, but haven't decided yet if I want to change it in the Keep)

I'm betting the reason your Celene alone ending was different was a lack of court approval. If you don't get high enough approval in the court whoever rules Orlais basically thinks you're a joke and does whatever they feel like doing. The approval is easy enough to get that it's worth getting if you want the better ending for both Orlais and the Inquisition.

I don't know, it feels like no matter what you do there's always an ominous undertone. "There is peace... for now."

Which really bothers me since I usually try to aim for a "perfect" or a happier ending. So frustrating.

The implication that Cory was a regular mage is where this argument fails.

He was an ancient, immortal, blighted, darkspawn magister with an ancient elven artifact used to amplify his powers.

Common sense dictates that Corypheus =/= all mages.

Is there an option both Gaspard and Briala are alive but Celene rules alone?

I got this slide

Gaspard lives, Briala is dead The civil war is ended, the elven resistance pacified, but it is said Gaspard yet plots his return from exile. How long before the Empress missteps and he raises banners once more? This fear hounds her every move.

But I don't remember Briala being dead. Am I wrong about this?

You can get a three-way "truce" outcome.

"Gaspard and Briala both live ("cooperation ending")

The civil war is ended, but a new war rages in the shadows. Gaspard it seems, has learned his lesson well.

Even the elves have no rest, with Briala's uprising rocking the empire to its core."

I dont think the wiki is right, the only way to Briala be executed is if you denounce her and Gaspard, with this choice, both will be dead.
I think with you exiling him, Briala and Celene made some kind of accord and with this the rebellion is pacified.

Orlais: Celene and Briala
Grey Wardens: Allied (Stroud stayed behind)
Divine: softened Leliana
Inquisition: Diplomacy

I was mostly happy with my epilogue. Leliana is doing a great job. The mages gain unprecedented acceptance throughout Thedas, without being "protected" by their prison guards. Celene and Briala lead Orlais by strengthening its culture and education. As for the wardens...no idea what to make of it (and Hawke disappeared...again).
