That's an ideological war between stupid people that like to misappropirate prolific memes without understanding them and people who take offense at the act of said misappropriation rather than taking offense to the fact that the perpetrators are stupid.

Neither side is right about themselves and both sides are wrong about each other.

Let them duke it out between each other and I'll watch from the sidelines with fresh popcorn. It's not worth getting more invested than that.

It was. What was scary was that I could hear him speaking the entire time I read the article. Wow.

And let me be frank: while this is a very important conversation to have, it seems to be futile to attempt to have it on the internet, where it will inevitably turn into a dual siege between two heavily-entrenched echo chambers of vocal minorities, separated by a vast landscape of howler monkeys flinging ****.

So true its funny.

SjW's and neo liberals are some of the worst scum on Earth. Right up there with ISIS and Eugenicists.

PC Master Race is a proud title and I wear the title with a badge of honor. For I am a PC NobleMan and not a Console Peasant.

Deal with it.

*also own PS4 and XB1, So I guess I am a console peasant. Dammit*

Charming. Yes just the other day I saw SJW beheading someone for not bowing to their god. Small world.

I think it's amusing that he pats himself on the back for not "getting caught up in internet call-out culture" when in literally his last video he made a quip "such and such as long as the list of Anita Sarkeesian's grievances." He's hardly neutral.

Otherwise I agree with him. I will not be cowed by people of one opinion into agreeing with them, or shutting up because I don't agree with them (see, Krem threads). You have your opinion, I have mine. If you want blind authoritarianism, go for it--just don't expect the rest of the world to bow to you. If you want to politely disagree, and explain your positions and make reasonable arguments, there are plenty of us willing to do so.

I just found it funny that Tyler Wilde, the author of the PC Gamer article was discovered to have made several blind recommendations of Ubisoft games in an official capacity (i.e giving it positive coverage without playing them) while in a relationship with someone who works in Ubisoft's PR department, without disclosure. It's not really related to the PC Master Race thing, but there is a very hypercharged debate going on right now, and you'd think he would've covered his ass before wading waist deep into it by engaging in anti-core gamer sentiment.

As for the term, I find it funny. I like it, but in an ironic sense. I do think PC is a vastly superior platform for gaming if you have the money and barebones knowledge required to use it (consoles are very much a plug and play affair while PCs do require tinkering on occasion, especially when dealing with bugs). So I don't mind playing it up a bit.

Plus two of my favourite genres, RPGs and Strategy games, get a heap more attention and love than consoles. So there's that. But I don't take it too seriously, nor do I think anyone really should.

As for how I feel about SJWs, that's well documented here. The fact that SJWs use terms like "People of Colour" un-ironically just tells me that it's the White Man's Burden ideology of the 21st century. This is even reinforced in my social groups. Of the people I know in real life, the few SJWs I've encountered are overwhelmingly white males and females, with the Asians and Indians I know being mostly left leaning, but not into the SJW subculture at all. Though to be fair, I actually don't know that many white people lol, or people in general to make an accurate assessment whatsoever. It's just my personal experience. That said, it tends to be a phenomenon highly focused in the USA. Stuff like cultural appropriation doesn't apply to most parts of the world. To me, cultural appropriation looks like middle class Americans looking for ways to get racially offended at one another.

I am not entirely sure how I feel about SJW's to be honest. Sometimes they say really smart things and im like "wow" but then other times they make me do their laundry and im like "wtf."

So for me personally the verdict is still out on SJW's.

I think the fact that we occasionally call ourselves "mustard race" is pretty strong evidence that most people are doing it to be silly.

1. We have no rights. We don't deserve a single thing in this life.

2. What is welfare? Is welfare taking deliberate offence? If I'm a wimp who can't take a black joke, that's my fault, not the fault of the guy telling them (imo jokes CAN go too far, but if your sphincters clench at the mention of a minority, you have a problem). Along the same lines, what is altruism?

You help people by teaching them how to deal with life, not by putting them in their nice little cocoon where they're separate from reality.

I really don't know what your opinion (on this topic) is, but your post is a good springboard.

It's almost like he took a stance, but then, that would've pissed some people off so he ends it with, "BUT some PC gamerz are taking this seriously!"

Lol.

A term that was meant to be taken into an ironic context by Yahtzee Croshaw has devolved into the opposite. Can't stand smugness.

"Natural Rights" is a pile of crap.

But Social/Contract Rights is smart and worthy of execution (Most likely between individuals who can hardly tolerate each other and a government that maintain security and regulate the country). With every set of rights you get, you have a duty to perform.

It shouldn't be like people sit on their ass and demand their natural rights!

Welfare imo:

- To have your own house

- Have the capability to use Taxi whenever you want and travel to a distant location at least twice a year (or simply use your car!)

- Have enough money or insurance to pay for your possible horrible illness or buy again your crashed stuff

- All of the above by working 8 hour/day or less

For every time they hit the nail directly on the head (usually it's a bit off center) they then misunderstand it and toss out some meaningless drivel regarding it. Which is then instantly countered by their opponents who then spout even more drivel. This is then worsened if you try to reason with either side because they then instantly support you support either the "SJW" or the "Patriarchy".

Oh look, an idealist.

Good luck with that plan ever working.
