PenguinFetish you are my hero.  Thank you for making a video of the unprofessionalism that Amelia and other EAWare devs have shown in a place they cannot delete it.  If they do try to delete the video it will be because they filed an illegal DMCA order since.  My personal experience with "the dev who shall not be named but was named already" is that anytime I directly call her out on her BS and outright lies the post magically gets deleted.  At no time am I rude or insulting I just hate lies and will point it out when I see one worthy of being pointed out.

EAWare has the best QA/QC team in the industry (Translation:  EAWare doesn't have one)

BWEAmelia "has played the MP for over 2 years without issues" (Translation:  I lied about playing this)

BWEAmelia posting a stupid meme in response to someone (Translation:  Get bent I don't care about your valid gripes with something you paid for)

I have said many times on these forums after I saw her veiled threats to ban people who posted legitimate concerns without any malice that she is the wrong person to be posting.  Fact is even if she is posting on her own time she is still posting under her EAWare account which means that she is still representing EAWare as an official spokes person due to it.  This needs to stop.

What EAWare needs to do is stop testing on bleeding edge hardware and also on identical systems as well as stop testing on a LAN.  I am sure a lot of the issues we are seeing that they supposedly fixed are missed because of latency and due to the fact they are only testing it on one setup when a PC can have thousands of different configurations.  They appear to be operating on the SNAFU principle which is fine except they make themselves out to be gods when they are not.

I have offered many times to bring her or someone else from the dev team along on a ride with me and a couple friends to DAMP and have not heard anything because apparently they believe they are right in everything. News flash EAWare, your testing sucks and it is illustrated by the issues people are experiencing and making threads about on your official forums. . .oh wait you don't follow your own forums and want people to make threads on Reddit because you follow that more.  Also deleting stuff from Twitter, Facebook etc just because it really shows the state of things in the game is wrong but you need to keep that squeaky image so that people continue to think the game is awesome.  Worst part it is and I will continue to play DAMP until I find something else.  Evolve is coming and you guys over at EAWare should really consider doing so yourself.

Disclaimer:  I fully expect to see this post deleted because I dared to name names and be critical of something I paid for.  To use an example of why I am being critical, like BWEAmelia has done, Its as if I bought a car and the car would not move, when I bring up this issue I am told that it is a software issue and will be patched in a month.  Only when its patched the car moves but doesn't shift out of 1st gear because you tested the issues in california where is it nice all the time and since I live in NYS the cold causes said patch to not work.  Nice job on the patches.

I got infracted for saying, and I quote, "Bah!" in response to one of the developer posts featured in that video.

That's right... "Bah!" Nothing more. Just those 4 characters in the entire post. "Bah!"

If they're willing to infract me for saying, "Bah!" I'm pretty sure Penguin is gonna get the ban hammer.

I imagine the Streisand effect will come into play if things like this get removed.

I guess posting this on places like reddit would be a way around any censorship that occurs here. Its difficult for me to post this around because self promotion is against a lot of subreddit rules though.

Some very sneaky editing to make my posts fit your viewpoint! As always, context is key, and there's a lot of context missing around the things you've posted ( I recommend following @AndrastesTits on Twitter, by the way, she's hilarious ).

Honestly, this video is solid evidence that these forums don't really want dev interaction or communication. When I joined the forum it was because I saw cries for these very things, and I thought I would help. What I quickly realized, however, is that whenever someone sticks their neck out in the forum there are a thousand swords to fall on it regardless of the content of the post. There is this very confusing cognitive dissonance where it seems this community wants interaction and communication, but pushes back fiercely when they actually receive it. A number of users on the BSN turn this space into a hostile, inhospitable environment, and asking why the developers don't interact is strange - the answer is well known. I will say - There are a number of wonderful, helpful community members in these forums whom I really appreciate. Its unfortunate that the people who are behaving poorly get so much attention.

I'm honestly disappointed things went this way, with you especially Penguin. You so quickly turned from a hero into a villain. I'm sorry that you didn't get what you wanted from me. I'm happy that you're taking what seems like a much needed break. Its going to be a good year for MP, there's a lot of awesome stuff coming down the pipe, and if you decide to check in in a few months I know you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Amelia

Andraste's ****** indeed.

I found a book for you Amelia:

It's 2015. If you or someone at Bioware doesn't know how to handle fans on an Internet message board,  you may be doing it wrong.

And seriously the "For Dummies" books are pretty solid introductions.

I was seriously thinking this exact same thing earlier today, after reading post here and on the SW:TOR forums while at work. It amazes me that game communities are so quick to call for changes, insulting the developer team and criticizing everything from cosmetics to game design and then continue to complain when the Devs make the requested changes. Game development on modern game engines is far from simple. Coding is complex! I know that for a fact as a senior graduating in electrical engineering technology this may. The impatience with which game community members react is ridiculous. With all of the anger and rage coming from the forums, it's no wonder the Devs assume all of the forums members are possed by rage demons like poor Sir Woolsey. I'd avoid the forums too, or send in the Templars. Constructive criticism is helpful. Angry criticism, name calling, and trolling isn't. I'm sorry to see such a hard working developer as Bioware is still plagued by these types of player bases. it's one of the reasons i don't like being called a 'gamer'. I don't want to be lumped in with this crowd who is willing to say anything safely behind their screen of pixels shielding them from consequences.

Keep your chin up Bioware! I'm not going anywhere, and I appreciate all of the hard work you are doing to eliminate bugs and produce new content. I cant wait to see what you come up with.

See, this is the exact problem with you devs!!!!! Could not have illustrated my point better, THANKYOU!!!!!

You are unwilling to admit that you have made a sub-par product. You are unwilling to admit that it needs fixing. You refuse to give accurate timelines as to when these issues will be fixed.

Damn it man...abilities not working the way the tooltip describes them (or at all in some cases) is a MAJOR PROBLEM that has plagued DA since DA:O, and you still can't get that right. Without properly functioning abilities, what is this game? A lacklustre children's story?

And let me give you a litte "insider" info from a gamer.

I (we) are not upset with you personally. Don't know you, never will...you're probably a pretty cool person (you game, so you got that going for you. BUT, we are getting beyond pissed with the state of the gaming industry these days. It's not just you, Bioware, EA, or any other person/dev/etc....it's ALL OF YOU!!! You're all the ****ing same!!

Because we live in the "fix it with patches" paradigm, you all release incomplete, poorly tested products. The game experience, replay value, and player satisfaction seem to be bottom of the list...while "making that pre Xmas release date" is the be all end all.

I've got money, I'm in no short supply (not rich, just comfortable). Gaming is my main hobby.

I am desperately searching for a game that I can throw money, time and effort at. But there's nothing out that's worth it.

Games are all incomplete, full of glitches/bugs, online stability is almost always crap, future promised features are rarely delivered on (or at the least, held over to the "next title" 6 months from now that's just a rehash).

I dunno, maybe I should take your advice and find a new hobby. Let you focus on that bottom line, making crap games you can resell to little kiddies with attention spans of a goldfish.

How hard is it to get off your high horse. Don't get in these forums and tell people how to conduct themselves. It's 2015, this is the interwebz...it is what it is. People are assholes, deal with it. And don't forget...these forum members who are discouraging you from participating are a vocal minority. Meanwhile, there is a large group of non-assholes, who don't complain, but are unhappy with your product, who will just move onto the next product, and overlook Bioware's next project.

Just admit you guys ****ed up, put genuine effort into making it right, and maybe you'd see less hate.

On a personal level, you seem to have zero tact. How did you end up with your job lol???

I don't say much on these forums, but I am nearing the end of the my DAI lifespan.

Penguin hit it right on the head.  ME3 forums had hatred, anger, and a ton of inappropriate comments from players.  Did that stop any Bioware employee from doing the best job they could?  Did that stop any Bioware employee from having "Let's Plays" together with the fanbase?  Did that stop any Bioware employees from acting mature and responding in any embrassing messages/comments?

Answer to those questions is No.  ME3MP was awesome, probably one of the best MP games I ever played.  Part of the reason why it was awesome...it had employees who took the feed back - negative/positive and made the game better.

Penguin's video has shown that some of these employees are taking this feedback and either not understanding it and/or making fun of it.  In today's world (even more than ME3MP launch) feedback is shown a ton more with live streams/youtube videos/etc.  To ignore/not respond properly to feedback on this forum makes the situation all the worse.  That solves nothing at the end and will only result in this game dying faster than they expected and leaving people with a real sour taste in their mouth.

Also, another note...Bioware employees liking responses in favor of them aren't doing you guys any favors with me.  Just adds to the childish nature that Penguin pointed out.

I really hope you guys get this game fixed/improved.  If it's not, I might just go back to ME3 MP or keep playing NBA2k/Minecraft/Diablo.

Some very sneaky editing to make my posts fit your viewpoint!

I'm honestly disappointed things went this way, with you especially Penguin. You so quickly turned from a hero into a villain. I'm sorry that you didn't get what you wanted from me.

There was context provided with each of my examples. I didn't need to edit anything, I just copy pasted screencaps of comments you have made. Great that you consider ME the villain though, despite you being the one who insults fans, ignores complaints and makes constant excuses for your teams spectacular shortcomings.

I frankly don't give a damn if you are 'disappointed in me' because its not my job to seek approval from you. You only need to take a look at this thread to understand that a lot of people here are disappointed in Bioware, not me.

If you remember our PM conversation over reddit, I was singing your praises because you were communicating with the fans in a positive way. Ive been an apologist for this buggy mess that your company feels is okay to sh*t all over us. And this patch was just the last straw for me.

You did not fix the key bug. You know as well as the rest of us that we were all really excited to play the Elementalist again, or even just to finish games. At no point did anyone from the team say that the key bug is still as rampant as ever. It was left to us to discover it for ourselves when the patch launched.

Pot breaking bug. You yourself boasted that a fix existed but it hadn't made the latest patch. Guess what? Its not fixed.

Rampage bug. Instead of actually fixing the rampage bug and leaving it, you nerf the reaver into the ground. If you actually played your own game youd know that Reaver on perilous is very difficult due to YET ANOTHER BUG which makes you take damage from the front. By the way, the Arcane Warrior still makes the entire game a joke, and you buff him (via strength of spirits).

Added new elven ruins route. This just doesn't exist. Nobody can find this. Did you just forget to include this?

I'm sorry

Good. Finally. I thought those words didn't exist in biowares vocabulary. Im sorry that I couldn't sink in another 350 hours because of the terrible state the multiplayer is in.

This post is exactly what I am talking about.  Bioware employees didn't leave the community or these forums....they embraced it and made the MP better.

When the game was first released, you had a community that was helpful and encouraging.  Now it's just a place for people to vent and comment on all the bugs they have seen.  Bioware has made these community toxic and frustrated.  Why can't you see that?

The bolding is for points I want to focus on.  Understand that this is not a personal attack just what I have seen and believe now.

I don't see how the video is anything but pointing out evidence of issues with interaction from devs.  You (the devs) want us to report bugs but when we do the report (on the OFFICIAL FORUM) is ignored.  The best part is when a bug is reported and "addressed" the fix fails and what I don't get is how it was missed in testing.  This tells me that testing is rushed at best and not thorough.  So far all I have asked for myself is for more interaction in regards to what is wrong and how to reproduce the issue.  I read these forums a lot and I have seen no real interaction besides you (the devs) either deleting posts because someone dared to name names and point out bold faced lies said by you (the devs).  The interaction does not need to be hostile but at the same time the golden rule applies "treat people the way you want to be treated".  If we are getting brushed aside then people will get angry.  It's human nature.

Now the second part, not to sound rude but get used to it.  If you are in an industry where you have to have ANY interaction with people, you will never make 100% of them happy no matter what you do.  Again, human nature.  But what you can do it accept that sword and do the best you can.  If you are doing the best you can then what is there to be concerned about?  So far if this is the best EAWare can achieve then I feel sorry for what has happened to the company.  I will link you to a letter I would ask that you read before you reply to this post, if you reply to this post Amelia.

FInally, it comes with the territory.  When people kindly ask for input and get the cold shoulder, when people watch a video and the devs flat out say they don't bother with the OFFICIAL forums and that they use Reddit instead, than how are we to inform you WHEN WE DON'T KNOW THIS, and also that every other company does use their forums instead of the UNOFFICIAL one at Reddit?  People will get pissed off when they are being nice and seeing that doing so gets them nowhere.  Also things such as you Amelia stating that you can just sprint away from the DC and wont get hit by his attack does show me that you haven't played the game much with other people.  Yet again I offer to run several matches with me and a couple others so that you can see and understand what exactly we are seeing when we play.  This is an olive branch so that you can actually experience what we experience.  Give it some thought.

Respectfully I also ask you to take a couple minutes and read this post I made.  Think about what is said in it and then reply if you are willing.  I will continue to play DAMP as long as I find it fun bugs and all but it is hard to say that I have any faith left in the company.

Thank you for your time from a former Bioware fan,

Waukeen

Seriously everyone, we all need to shut up and play nice or Bioware won't communicate with us.

Wait a thought occured to me..... we aren't preschool children. A lot of us are adults with jobs and families. Is it really so much to ask for a bit of respect from the companies that we choose to buy product from? I mean we get a reply from you Amelia, and your first line is a shot at Penguin? Gaming developers have started to act like they are better than the masses that they sell their product to, and I don't get it. If I ever spoke to customers at my job that way, you better believe I'd be hearing about it.

It seems like Biowares stance on not communicating with us is that we are too angry and juvenile and now we'll never mend that fence, pretty good scape goat. Wait until you provide us with false information or just decide we don't need any information, and when there is back lash just blame us for the whole thing. If you honestly communicated with your customers, we wouldn't be where we are. It's pretty insulting. We would never be this upset if you gave us some respect. You can say that Bioware employees aren't being respected but guess what, that is a small group, not all of us act that way. To just cut off communication to everyone for that is ridiculous. Another thought has occured, you aren't preschool children either!! You can talk with us while ignoring the ignorant people, besides it's the internet, who cares if some people on a forum are jerks, that's life, get over it.

Stop disrespecting your customer base!

And that is only my single player gripes.

Why do you post anything about single player on this forum? This is the multiplayer forum and I dont wanna read anything about single player here. I havent even played it yet. Go file your complaints in the appropriate forum.

If you truly want a example of Developer community interaction go watch Planetside 2 official twitch channel or YouTube.

Each developer has a work in progress video most week showcasing what is being worked on, new features, new maps or simply bug fixes. Not only do they have video of work in progress but  a few of them live stream and answering questions in chat (on their own personal time). They are open about concerns , balancing, changes made to the game.

If that wasn't enough they are extremely active on their own personal twitter accounts, posting about what is happening at work or what is the change made during the day.

also, you have the Play test server which is open to everyone  where developer schedule public test session and everyone can jump in try out new tools, weapons, features while talking with them. (If the new feature past the test, no bugs they are introduce into the upcoming patch.)

They are quite transparent with changes even if people don't agree with them all the time. Even the CEO of Sony online entertainment with acknowledge mistakes and post to fans. (Recent case with Planetside where he promise to look into lag)

Now Planetside might be buggy game but their communication is top notch for dev studio

§seriously everyday there's like at least 20 post from developers through out different social media, reddit, forum, twitter, YouTube video etc...

And Bioware can't post  everyday because of what?????
