Probably the same thing that happens when EA bought Westwood: they keep them (and their brand) around so long as they're valuable, then the instant they produce a stinker (I'm looking at you, C&C: Renegade) they liquidate the company and publish pale imitations of the classics exlusively under the EA brand.

I will never forgive EA for desecrating the Red Alert franchise.

Yumi's quick 2 cents:

Pengin can't help it if he is a massive Dragon Age fanboy. It's what he loves. He's been incredibly helpful and contributed a lot to the general knowledge of any player that takes the time to read 1 of his many, many guides.

Pengin even called for calm and called for patience along with other high profile forumers like Mofojokers when people first started freaking out about, and let's be honest about this, the very large amount of bugs in this multiplayer.

Pengin also took the further step of testing, gathering evidence and video documentation, editing it together, posting it up, and packaging it nicely  along to Bioware in bug reports. MULTIPLE TIMES.

So the guy has finally gotten burnt out with the crap we just got patched. We can all agree the patch was a complete joke, whether it is:

 1. wuss demon commander (unneeded change)

 2. reaver rampage (i'm not criticizing this one, but it was said this was for balance, when all it really did was greatly weaken the class's best skill - dragon rage).

 3. key glitch ( no significant reduction in occurrence, or at least, this was not a significant enough to call it a "key glitch fix")

 4. elven ruins destruction (wow, not even included in the patch)

 5. Inquisition armor palate swaps ( Some of them it looks nice, some look like utter crap, it's something, I guess)

I can't blame Pengin for losing his patience. Honestly, I've lost mine. But I can just walk away and play other games. So, the guy is really passionate about this game and he needs to express himself the way he needs to.

As gamers and customers it is not always our job to be the adults in this situation. By situation I mean the mess of a multiplayer and the negative hellhole of a forum we have.

We aren't getting paid to play your game Bioware. We pay YOU to play your  game. Therefore, you have to be the adult in this situation.

And Amelia, I can honestly say I am disappointed in you. I felt pretty great when I saw you and Andy posting in the early first weeks of DAMP. But lately it has become plain that your attitude was only pleasant as long as people threw you softball questions that had easy canned answers for you to post. Your response to negativity is very defensive and honestly, quite juvenile. The negativity has drawn you in and drawn you down. Maybe you need to step back from communicating with the forum. Please don't take this as an insult, I think it might just make you feel better. Whether you communicate or not the forum is still going to be a cesspool of negativity until a lot of bug fixes and then some fresh content gets added.

Everyone, from forumers to BWEAme, how about we all just take a step back and have a chill pill? Maybe get back to some other stuff, other games, other work, other friends, and just let this dog lie for a little while.

I just Ole' Yeller'ed DAMP a few days ago, and I feel great.

I mean eventually, we can be back to this again right?!? (you can choose which one is you and which one is on the opposite side :D )

Not just Red Alert, but all Command & Conquer.

Truth be told C&C3 was pretty good in my eyes but the final slap in the face was C&C4.  I mean seriously?  C&C was the game that GOT me into computer gaming.  Not Doom or the like but C&C back in 1995 iirc.  Renegade actually had a lot going for it but EA rushed it like they do all their games.  I waiting till we have Mass Effect 2016, Dragon Age 2015, ME 2016, DA 2016 etc etc.

I wonder if the Warden and Shepard will be the people on the covers of the launch titles...

I'm honestly disappointed things went this way, with you especially Penguin. You so quickly turned from a hero into a villain.

Really? With all his videos and build posts and all the time he sank into the game he actually proofed that he loves the game imho. He's getting customers interested in the MP in fact. I have my own builds now, but I started with Penguin builds for all my characters the first two or three runs. They helped a lot. Still waiting to get the Longbow of the Griffon to try out his Hunter build, actually. After more than 450.000 Gold spent, btw.

So, as I assume you know this ^ and appreciate Penguins work for the community,  I'm driven to believe your disappointment is the result of

If you remember our PM conversation over reddit

said private communication over reddit. Could you possibly keep this communication private? Penguin did it.

And I would like to have more maps, please.

ME3MP forums featured plenty of developer interaction. Perhaps because the game designers were invested in it. Maybe DAIMP forums are different simply because it was something they were forced to add onto the game, maybe the departure of some of their veteran board participants is the cause. The give and take is very absent at DAIMP compared to ME3MP though, and I don't imagine the board populace is all that changed between the two...

It's really funny when someone comes in and post incredibly defensively and passive aggressive and then pulls the victim card after they get snark because they basically picked a fight with everyone.

We just want a game that works.

I did not call out Amelia at any point in the video. I was addressing bioware as an entire company, not just one employee.

As I have said before, if the interaction we get is rude, insulting and unhelpful, then I would rather not have any interaction at all.

Her name's in the video. Intended or not, it was a call out.

Stanley 'Ninja' Woo. He was a jerkface,

He seemed to have the hump with me, especially if i posted something like "Stinja's Nan is making me a volus plushie..." , irrespective of whatever other content i had after  so many infractions...

As for developers interacting well, and non-toxic forums:

Digital Extremes does well with Warframe.  Including streamed video previews of upcoming stuff, change logs with real numbers of changing stats, acknowledgement of bugs and issues.  They've even warned with stickier posts of upcoming downtime due to PSN maintenance!

Housemarque is another good forum.  They interact well, the fans are polite, and they take criticism and feedback and suggestions, which often make it to the next patch.  They also acknowledge the best customers are better than them at playing their own game, and have a better handle on how the mechanics work as a player.

Old ME3MP BSN was dire.  So much trolling, off-topic, raging and tears.  There were gems though, with players handing out real info, which gave average players like me the knowledge to get off bronze.  Probably less than 10% of the total posts though.

DAMP is dire too.  More polite (well until recently...) but serious lack of info, and only acknowledging things when pushed by players:  why weren't all the Reaver changes in the patch notes?

But the forums right now are bad, too much vitriol, Bioware have clammed up even more.  If they stamped down hard with some infractions/bans and ground rules, but then posted regularly (i'm talking multiple posts per day, with proper Q&A) then maybe it would clean up...

If there's a preponderance of sandy vagina's around here it's only because we've been stuck on the beach for two months.

That and if you think this atmosphere is toxic and hostile then you have led a blessed forum life. You want to see hostile look at Mechwarrior Online. That fan base got so mad they murdered the companies next game in it's crib.

But really it's not the anger you should worry about. It's when the bulk have given up and don't post at all. Cause by then support it all you want there won't be a community left to enjoy it.

Think that's over dramatic? Well maybe it is but just keep doing what you're and oh say three months from now we'll see.

Some very sneaky editing to make my posts fit your viewpoint! As always, context is key, and there's a lot of context missing around the things you've posted ( I recommend following @AndrastesTits on Twitter, by the way, she's hilarious ).

Honestly, this video is solid evidence that these forums don't really want dev interaction or communication. When I joined the forum it was because I saw cries for these very things, and I thought I would help. What I quickly realized, however, is that whenever someone sticks their neck out in the forum there are a thousand swords to fall on it regardless of the content of the post. There is this very confusing cognitive dissonance where it seems this community wants interaction and communication, but pushes back fiercely when they actually receive it. A number of users on the BSN turn this space into a hostile, inhospitable environment, and asking why the developers don't interact is strange - the answer is well known. I will say - There are a number of wonderful, helpful community members in these forums whom I really appreciate. Its unfortunate that the people who are behaving poorly get so much attention.

I'm honestly disappointed things went this way, with you especially Penguin. You so quickly turned from a hero into a villain. I'm sorry that you didn't get what you wanted from me. I'm happy that you're taking what seems like a much needed break. Its going to be a good year for MP, there's a lot of awesome stuff coming down the pipe, and if you decide to check in in a few months I know you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Be Excellent to Eachother

Thanks,

Amelia

Hello,

i do not usually post on forums, but this response has made me do it. I've been playing pc games for a long time now about 20 years+ and i've never had the displeasure of seeing an official response insult the OP and the whole forum community in this manner.

While i always try to be constructive, u obviously do not respond to constructive criticism or any form of criticism, so i will stoop to your level and say what i say to all poisonous ppl in games :   LOL NOOB !

P.S. Penguin, hate to see good players go from a game i like to play, but i understand the disappointment.

DE forums were one of the most polite communities that I was member of.

This is a thread addressing the the communities growing distaste with the developers and their inability to address bugs and issues with the game.. This covers BOTH multi player and single player.. Besides there are many threads in FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS about the single player issues.. guess what.. they get **** all attention compared to the multi player sections.. so don't tell me to go post it "in the appropriate forum" matey because THIS is the appropriate thread.

No. Simply wrong. The sign on the door says "Multiplayer". This is a thread adressing the MP communities issues with the MP-mode and the people working on the MP-mode. It has nothing at all to do with SP problems. Whatever problems you have in SP are irrelevant to this forum. I didnt even want to know the stuff you wrote, as I havent even started SP, but when I realised you were in the wrong place it was already to late. Thanks for the spoiler warning, mister. Try to consider this next time: Not everyone here has played the SP mode! Including the OP if you had ever watched his video.

Now, I say again: delete your post and go post your grievances on a different forum. That includes grievances regarding the devs or moderators not giving a ****. Thank you!
