I don't think it added anything. It was pretty pointless and played pretty straightforward. Blackwall and Josephine at least had a small, but present, sort of depth.

I gotta admit though the conquer you dialogue makes me wonder...just how hard can you yank on Bull's horns before they crack?

It makes them more real. As real as any pixelated character can be, anyway. The game itself is already revolving around the PC, so why does that mean your companions can't get it on? I'm not getting this odd...fixation from some fans that NPC's can't hook up because they have to wait around for the PC to choose them. Uh, why? My third character already chose Cullen. Why can't my inner circle play with who they want? It's only fair. Not everything should be controlled by the PC - relationships between NPC's in particular.

This. So much this. My first play through I had no idea what I was doing and so it took me forever to get Bull. So I had to listen to these two flirt. Ticked me off Even when I'm not romancing Bull now, I can't have these two in the same party , I still get jealous

Yeah I'm not sure why he's so stone faced when you flirt with him. Made me feel I was forcing him into a romance at first. And yeah if Dorian doesn't want the savage conquering him I'll gladly take Bull off his hands

The second one was the "He submits, but you serve."  Bull says "If you take the mystery out it isn't as hot." You have two options, one is "Bull? Yes it is." And then Bull is like ".....hnnngh in that case, carry on kid!" But you can also say "That's actually how it works?"

 

And Bull's response is amazing. He gets all blustery like "PFFFFT, WHAT DOES COLE KNOW ABOUT THIS? When we're alone, I'm going to pin you down and do things to you your body won't believe!"

 

And Cole is like "...but but...that's not..." And Iron Bull is like "*AHEM*" To scare him into shutting up. ♥

 

It was an adorable and hilarious exchange, I loved it. ;_;

Oh, it's not that I don't want characters to be solely for the protagonist. In fact, it is quite the opposite. I don't like it because the couples tend to be very cute together so I can't romance either anymore.

I only got the one where cole goes "s/he almost says the word sometimes." CURSE YOU BANTER BUG. CURSE YOU TO THE FIERY PITS OF HELL.

That and I do kind of want to troll Bull more often. Really hoping dlc has expanded banters (that actually work >_> )

I both love and hate when companions romance each other.

 

Love it because it adds depth to the game, and makes it seem like the companions have aspects of their lives that don't involve the PC.

 

Hate it because it makes it hard for me to romance that character after knowing, because I feel like I'm keeping them from each other or something.

 

For mostly physical relationships, like Fenris and Isabela I don't feel that way as much. But, like one of the reasons I cannot romance Blackwall is because of how much he loves Josephine. In ME, I also felt pretty weird about both my Garrus and Tali romances because they get together if neither is with Shepard. 

 

In some ways, I wish that the Alistair/Leliana romance existed in the actual game (not just in Darkspawn Chronicles) for additional depth to the party members, but I also know that it would in some sense ruin both of their romances for me.

 

For the Iron Bull and Dorian romance, the only thing that I dislike about it is the difference between how Iron Bull reacts to Dorian and the Quizzy. Iron Bull flirts with Dorian pretty aggressively, but he acts so stoic towards my Quizzies flirting towards him. Kinda gives the feeling that he would rather have Dorian than my Quizzy, which is a bit off putting.

I think you can head canon Iron Bull's actions to the Quizzie to be that way, not because it might be how Iron Bull prefers it, but because of how he sees it has to be?

 

The Inquisitor has to lead pretty much the entire world around by it's short hairs. He needs to be the picture of absolute power. What he does with Iron Bull can be very easily mis-understood, and anyone who is looking to find some way to undermine the Inquisitor's character/authority/power/ability etc, wouldn't have to look very far if Iron Bull was as open about what he does with the Inquisitor as he does with Dorian.

 

Plus we're never really given any sort of insight as to just how kinky Iron Bull is with Dorian. From what banter you get, it just seems like some pretty sexy sex. Cole's banter with the Inquisitor leaves absolutely no question just how kinky they are. So Iron Bull keeps it very separate so as not to undermine the Inquisitor's power outside the bedroom. Dorian might not have the same power play, so Iron Bull doesn't need to worry about that etc.

 

(Plus, who knows. If Iron Bull came on to the quizzie hard when flirting, there would probably be people complaining that he was too aggressive and sexual, and that offends there delicate sensibilities because only typically-attractive humans are allowed to be sexually dominant?)

 

It's all very nice and it's all very respectful, and thank you Iron Bull for being so considerate. BUT WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT THERE IS NO ONE AROUND EXCEPT THAT ONE DEAD GUY WE JUST KILLED. ITS SAFE. There should be a "DAMNIT BULL WE ARE ALONE, FLIRT WITH ME." button.

I have to agree. I don't know why he's such a golem when quizzy flirts with him. Even after the romance is initated he's still damn stone. I kind of want to shake him. DON'T CALL DORIAN PRETTY BUT NOT ME YOU JERK.

We already get 50 shades whining galore it'd probably be multiplied by 10 if he did flirt (that said I'd want it restricted to the PC initiating the romance first so at least they can't say they didn't bring it on themselves but yeah betting if Bull looked like Cullen half the complaints would vanish heck I probably would tolerate some characters I dislike a bit more if I found them attractive XD so I'm not excluding myself from that).

Yeah, I'm fine with him only ever responding to your flirting, he comes on strong enough when he finally does decide it's time, so I'll just fan myself and be happy with that. But as adorable as it is that he goes all srsface about how his sword totally has blood grooves so he'll be okay, just a little more sexytalk would be awesome. They really push the comedic with Bull to make people more comfortable with the bdsm stuff, but maybe just a tiny little bit less pandering to the masses here would be nice.

Luckily there are no romances like that in DA so far.  If Cullen and Cassandra had hooked up, it would have been so hard for me to romance Cullen afterwards.
