I did.

What can I say, my Hawke is jealous and possessive... (but going with that logic, 99 percent of Kirkwall would be dead.) ;)

No i dont like it either. In fact, as others have said, i would go as far as not recruiting Iron Bull on a "non Dorian romance" PT *snorts*...Or just not putting them in the same party. But not because i think the IB/Dorian relationship is abusive, and i DO NOT see how anyone is seeing rape anywhere? Like what?

But i do feel like its an unhealthy relationship. On both sides.

I can see why people would think that Dorian is looking for love where he can find it (and thats not saying anything bad about Dorian. Or Bull for that matter) and IB oversteps Dorians comfort zone with all the bragging.

Honestly i think if the Inquisitor said the things IB says in banter, dorian would still be horrified. Maybe slightly less so, but horrified none the less.

I personally hate that. I wish Quizzy could Troll Dorian though. Just not...shame him.

Iron Bull shouldnt have to hide his relationship with Dorian. But it comes across as really disrespectful, pushy and gross.

If Bull feels like he needs to out Dorian because he doesnt want to be his dirty little secret sex toy, then just dump his ass like he does with the Inquisitor when he/she chooses to tell Cullen/Cass/Josie that it was just fun or whatever Quizzy said in that scene.

I like that scene with IB. That shows a lot of good in him.

And thierin lies why else the relationship is unhealthy for both of them(at least the start of it) in my mind.

IB doesnt leave Dorian like he does the Inquisitor when he/she feels a bit embarrassed about shaking up with Bull.

IB shows a lot of self respect and maturity when he wont be used or tucked away on a shelf to be taken down when convenient. Bravo bull.

Instead it just ends up in Bull pushing Dorian before he's ready. And honestly the whole "but Bull knows what Dorian neeeddsss Qunari spy" thing is just.... Bleugghhhh. Ssshhhh, ok. Its such Bull sh*t (see what i did there)

Maybe that reason is legit to some, but ive yet to be convinced. And tbh im not interested in being convinced.

Dorian wants to move slower than bull and he really isnt given a choice.

And really if Dorian was ashamed of his relationship with my inquisitor, i dont see why you would want to stay in it? Thats toxic.

My two cents for what its worth.

And i can see why people think Dorians an asshat for how he seems to think he's too fancy for Iron Bull.

I have to admit i did think the adoriBullmance was abusive at first but ive looked at both sides and read peoples point of views, it isnt abusive from where im sitting anymore. But its still unhealthy. I do feel for the people triggered by it. But people can be triggered by so many things its hard to not censure amazing writers which D.G and P.W really are, so many feels. I would hate for Dragon Age to become written by the fans.

Anyway heres why i dont like it for other reasons seeing as im feeling chatty...

>It really annoys the frack out of me when my Inquisitor is twirling Dorians mustache and IB is talking about Dorian polishing his stave (sorry cant really remember Dialogue) and the ohhh diirty. Lift up your skirt, mageboy etc etc etc just shut up already for makers sake. Shut.....up. Give it a rest Bull, DAAAAYYYYUUUM. If that were life i would seriously just say, if you really know what people need then why dont you know when you need to shut the hell up? This inquisitor more green today bruh. Plus im your "boss"? Then stop trying to cut my grass.

Instead my Inquisitor just rushes off to pick a herb. What else can you do?

>It makes both Dorian and IB come off as desperate to me. Sad to do that to them. Dorian (love his silky socks) i sort of  understand. <<<Dont throw rocks at me. But Iron Bull? Not really. Must reeaaaalllyyy want to conquer Tevinter.

>They seem to get more romance banter than Inq/Dorian and to a slightly lesser extent Inq/Bull. Just me? Was i not supposed to romance them or?

>They just dont match. Blah blah opposites attract. They still dont match. Disclaimer: to me

I know, poor me. My prefered LI got with a character i dont like. But even though i wish they had left that pairing out and i feel it was just thrown in for "fan service" or discussion (sure is getting that) i wouldnt want the backlash to deter them from pairing up a not so vanilla couple or controversial couples in future.

Got me thinking at least.

ALSO I really hope if we get DLC they dont spend resources on that romance to "clear things up" and expand on it because of all the upset and DoriBull shippers. Do not want

I misread the title AND did not realize what the op was saying since I have no such banter yet. Sorry :/

I'm sorry but if you're shamed by someone admitting you screw them then maybe you really shouldn't be in the relationship with that person. Just saying. It makes them both look bad. Bull's shaming Dorian by letting people know Dorian's screwing the qunari. The source of Dorian's shame is literally his relationship with Bull. I have no sympathy for that especially when he's inclined to openly share his relationship with the Inquisitor so it's not even that he's a private person by nature.

Also how am I not supposed to look at Dorian lesser because he's so desperate for love that he lets someone walk all over them? That's not something for an adult to be proud of. It's pathetic.

(Good note not them both having more romanced banter than with Quizzy. Wtf is with that?)

But I actually do hope there's DLC that expands on it if only so this "it's abusive!" can finally die. As can the notion that Dorian's deeply humiliated by Bull's bawdy behavior so much that it's emotionally abusive.

Dorian wants to move slower than bull and he really isnt given a choice.

Yeah that's totally why Bull let's Dorian set the pace of their relationship by telling him whenever he wants to explore his door is option. Look at all that rushing.

I wasn't really aware of the context of the relationship, so I thought it was cute at first (hey happiness for everyone).

But after reading threads about it, finally knowing the context, I have come to dislike it.

It also made me lose some respect for Dorian.

I wish it only made me lose some. Because he is an interesting character I just wish we could call him out on his shitty actions. Alas. (Same with bull and Vasoth really. The lack of ability to really call him out on their views soured me on the Qunari/Bull mance.)

XD

But isn't that a good thing?

I think I could do Dorian's romance if the "let's keep this fun" (pretty much treat him exactly how he treats Bull yes I'm spiteful) option actually worked and didn't result in me having an endless loop of romance Dorian start conversations while acting like I'm locked in and not letting me romance other people but not actually being in a romance with him. It's awkward.

His pride doesn't allow that :P

He either left on his own terms or he didn't leave at all. Getting kicked out would be shame in his eyes. Even if he did hate his country.

And thats why teasing him with it is fun.

*comforts*

I decided to play my quizzy as the stoic. Since that is really the archetype that quizzy shines at. (Save Haven. But I take that as the stoic mask breaking because frustration and memory loss. WORKS FOR ME)

Dorian's snide little "good for you." after HLTA didn't do anything to endear my quizzy to him (which was bad since that quizzy was supposed to romance him). Ended up running off with Josie.

Given the cuteness of her romance. Totally worth it. Also totally don't see how anyone thought a sex scene after that cuddle made sense. Would've totally ruined the feeling of the scene.

(That said they totally were at it like bunnies after Cory was defeated. )

Its just that their relationship isn't very healthy.

I was never even aware their relationship existed until BSN told me, because glorious banter bug.

I approve of the pairing. Don't know much about the details though.

Eh I'm a Anders rivalmancer. I'm so used to having my ship trashed it's not even worth an eye twitch anymore. STAY STRONG!

I'm just more annoyed that it's all being on Bull's shoulders and the only thing wrong with Dorian is the innocent mage flower is looking for love in all the wrong places and then treating that as it's not actually a flaw.

They are working through it. Bull is giving Dorian the benefit of the doubt saying he's a good guy deep down etc. He wants things to work out.

They have a rocky start. That doesn't mean they don't do amazing things to each other in bed, and are working out the rest from there.

And really. A ben-hassrath qunari spy and a high borne tevinter mage? How believable would it be if their relationship started with love poems and roses?

Man, everyone ignores the part where Bull says (and this is paraphrased unless I somehow got the wording exactly right) that that he can get worked up over hating a country but that it's too much trouble to hate individuals (which I think is his response if you ask about Krem being Tevinter). In other words, he really doesn't do things like judge people by their nationality (or their race in all likelihood).

Bull is clearly a pretty open-minded guy, and I am at least nominally annoyed to see racism, etc. being brought into this by people saying he shouldn't be attracted to Dorian because the qunari and Tevinter are enemies, blah blah blah. Now Dorian might be more used to treating the qunari as a whole as some sort of feared, monolithic entity, but he seems to get over it (if he didn't/couldn't, well, I guess he and Bull wouldn't be sleeping together).

I listened to their full banters like 5-6 times to make sure I didn't misinterpret anything.
Conclusion: I hate the way Bull treat Dorian. And just shut up please.
Future Plan: Recruit Bull. Leave him at Skyhold for entire game. Or Do not recruit Bull at all.
I wish this whole IB/Dorian romance is never exist. I used to think Bull is cute and plan to romance him next . But now I can't even look at him without cringing. *sigh*

edit: Seriously some posts here just make me dislike Bull even more than I already did. gj

Yeup. Iron Bull needs to understand that he is just there to offer sexual favors when asked, and should otherwise keep his mouth shut about the whole thing. What does he think, that he's good eough to deserve any sort of respect and acknowledgement? Clearly he needs to learn his place as a dirty little secret. Dorian is doing him a favor just by letting him touch him at all, right? Just offer his genitals when they are required and keep the rest of his personality out of it!

Jesus Christ Bull, stop expecting people to treat you like you're not just a piece of meat. Just sit there quietly, let yourself be used like a sex toy, and then keep your mouth shut the rest of the time. Let yourself be used like that, because it's really all you deserve.

Poor Dorian, having a lover that refuses to be dragged into the closet with him. It's terrible. Bull should be as ashamed of himself as Dorian is, and then it'd be a healthy relationship.

I don't think I can let the sarcasm flow through me any harder.

It's as though you read my mind. How in the world does Dorian get a pass on all the elitist, classist crap he displays in his relationship with Iron Bull? And why do I get the feeling that if Iron Bull's behavior in this relationship was coming from someone more conventionally attractive, the furor would subside?

If Dorian was ashamed of Bull because Bull was black, or transgendered, or mentally handicapped, or something like that, then people would care.

But Bull is a large, intelligent, sexually dominant man. He is only capable of being demonized, he is not given the chance to be good, despite all the examples of him in the game being good.

Therefore Bull takes all the blame, all the hate, and all the villianizing, while Dorian is painted as a delicate flower who's the victim of an evil abuser.

Right.

They're both grown men. They're both responsible for their own decisions. They work out their problems together. They do it all without holding the Inquisitor's hand the entire time. This is too much for people to understand.
