None of them :o DA:I actually has the most disappointing roster of potential romances of any Bioware game to date, for me (straight guy). I would definitely have a huge crush on Sera, but, as she says "uh, not even".

EDIT: Oh wait, any DA game? Then Isabela. And Leliana. Preferably both, and maybe a greased nug and room at the Pearl...

Alistair! He's sweet, funny, caring and so adorkable.

I wouldn't say no to Zevran, Fenris, Cullen, Awakening Anders, Dorian (if he were into women) or Solas either but Alistair will always be first in my book!

Actually, thinking about it. None of the MM romances would be desirable in real life.

DA1:

-I would have my reservations about dating an assassin. Plus, he comes across as someone that wouldn't be good for long term. Which I totally respect but Zevran always came across to me as a "rolling stone".

DA2:

-Fenris is way too emotionally unstable and a bit of an emo. He'd probably erk me in real life and I'd get tired of his emo theatrics.

-Anders is another emotionally unstable man who's bipolar and would get extremely angry if I disagreed with him. He's not stable mentally or emotionally and I just couldn't deal with the drama.

Cullen would be a good choice he's sweet and in touch with his emotions. I like how he constantly reevaluates his own values and his driven by honor and duty. Not to mention he's smoking hot so...excuse me while I drool in the corner!

I think Iron Bull would be fun too...for science...

Well if sexuality wasn't an issue here, Dorian, no question about it. Regarding this particular person though, in real life circumstances which are quite boring and far from world-ending, I think it would take a long while to get to know the real him. Female Inquisitors get a glimpse because of a personal crisis that happens, but if that didn't happen and we never knew about the family conflict and his pain regarding that, I think Dorian would be a tough nut to crack.

I would love to say Cullen as well. I think he is a terrific guy and I do like the growth he has had over the series. However, if you are going to be partnered with a person who has a problem like an addiction or an illness then you have to be prepared to help them with that. I strongly believe that if you care about the person that it is required of you to be supportive of them.

If I'm going to be 100% honest with myself, I don't know that I could handle that in a relationship. Then again, you can't help who you fall in love with. So if I fell in love with someone like Cullen who was doing their best to recover, I would do my best to support them as well. But right now, not being in love sitting here typing this, and knowing about the problem going in, I don't think I would. Unfortunately.

Cullen definitely. I would choose Alistair but Cullen is 10x the man Alistair could ever hope to be. I've never dated blondes in real life but I have a weakness for them in DA :P

Alistair. He seems to be able to get along with just about anyone, except if they're eeeevil. His lines always made me laugh and I'm really fond of that trait, so I can definitely see it happening. I adore Fenris to bits, but honestly? I couldn't bear with all the brood and gloom, and I can hardly stand strongly opinionated people. So yeah, Hawke earns my respect. Cullen could be a thing, I guess, but might be too serious in a way. I don't know.

I guess I can't say I'd romance default male sarcastic Hawke? He'd be my number one choice... I fell in love with him more than with any LI but if I had to choose someone from the companions...

Well, I tend to idealize the person I am with, but then I'm also kind of insecure so I'd have to be with someone quite reassuring, so IB's out of the picture, even if I really like him (without the BDSM thing).

I had a crush on Alistair in DAO... and if he were into guys, I could see me with him... until duty and stuff gets in the middle...

Fenris... alright I'd fall in love with him the moment he opened his mouth and started talking... too broody, true, and with a dark past included in the pack (nightmares after sex, not really the best to hope for), I think he'd end up depressing me, but by that time I'd be completely hooked, so what could I do?

Cullen (if he were into guys): sure, completely my type, strong manly but super cute guy? what's not to like? ok, lyrium issues... but we'd get over it ;)

Dorian... I don't know, he's handsome, but... I don't know how I'd feel about him until I met him IRL, but there's also the way he thinks about slaves... so probably no.

Solas... Actually he reminds me of one of my ex with all his thoughtfulness, calm, interesting conversations, sexy serious guy's attitude... he was even obssesed with dreaming and ancient cultures too (although I don't think he went to the fade, but who knows) even the way we broke up is exactly the same! (Ok, no Dread wolf thing, but "we're perfectly fine and suddenly no explanations, I love you, but I need to be alone" kind of way)

So... handsome sexy male sarcastic Hawke, please

He doesn't. His family does and as he says "they treat them well". He haven't seen the worst of it, he even says they pay them. For him, slaves are just servants I guess. So that's just nope, really nope.

His family does and he could have lived with them as far as we know. He also argues pro slavery if you confront him on it and says that it's not worse than alienages, etc and that it didn't even occur to him that it'd possibly be odd until he traveled. I'm sure he treated them well and his family was the exception, but he still said pro-slavery things, that's what I'm getting at. I'm not saying he's Danarius or anything like that, and like I said, I love his character -_-.

Leliana in Origins, not Inquisition. Seriously. Going nowhere near Sister Nightingale. Sigrun in Awakening and Merrill in DA2 because they're adorable and either Cassandra or Iron Bull in Inquisition. Cass because she's a hopeless romantic and Bull because he's Bull. Also kinky sex.

I'd say Cullen too but he's straight...

Dorian. Also Cullen and Alistair since we can ignore their canon orientation. Really the only other DA guy I've been attracted to is Anders, but he's the epitome of fun in a game, but not someone I would ever get with in real life. Even disregarding the whole possession thing, I probably would have sneaked out on him after he told me he laid awake at night aching for me for three years. That's not romantic, dude. Just super creepy.

Yeah if he didn't try to justify it I could see the point but he does with the it could be worse defense. Really wish I could play a CE for a lulzy reaction to that.

Which companions would you actually romance in real life?

Cullen. He's been through abuse and trauma, lost his sense of self once, has been both prisoner and jailor, is a natural introvert and has become a workaholic in an attempt to compensate for his emotional scarring and regain his precarious self esteem.

We'd understand each other perfectly.

Sera is definitely a possibility. So is Isabela. In both cases I love that they are far from perfect and never boring. But I have absolutely no predicitons if it would actually last... Also for the one that said Hawke. Sarcastic female Hawke was so well-written in general too, I thought. It would be tough to resist that witty charm.

It's hard to narrow it down more because well, needs time and more than what we see in the games, I think.

None of the companions, but I'd totally romance my male Lavellan.   :D

Also, Abelas, but only after he's had years of therapy.

Oh, and how can I forget Cillian (the MP Arcane Warrior)!  He's such a sweet goofy guy.

Nathaniel Howe, hands down no doubt. Smart, skilled, dry sense of humor, determined but able to change and grow. Nathaniel.

Alistair, if he grows up right!  He's a keeper in the making.

If Solas were just Solas and not the Dread Wolf, I'd romance him. I like smart men. Of course, IRL I am not an elf, so...

I would also choose Cullen. He's smart too, and he's come through a lot, scarred but still a human being.

I didn't like Fenris until he answered the Arishok in his own language -- then I thought, that man has a brain, maybe he'll learn to use it better.

Basic criteria: smart, honest, skilled and with at least a touch of humor, but more is better, just not too much.

in no particular order (cos i'm indecisive like that):

alistair

leliana

anders

cullen.....maybe....he's a bit lower on my list

i loved morrigan to pieces, but i don't think we'd mesh well irl.

fenris' romance was my second favourite in DA2, but i think his extreme bias against mages would clash far too much with my own sympathy for mages and i don't know if i would be persuasive enough.

i loved isabela and merrill too, but you never know where isabela's been (those boobs though) and i see merrill more as a sister.

i would romance dorian in a heartbeat......alas, i seem to lack the physical equipment that he prefers.  sad face.

i would also love to romance solas, but since i'm not really an elf......

so far, i think it's a tie between anders and leliana

Alistair or Blackwall :) I agree once Blackwall comes clean he mellows out a ton.

Cullen is sweet but after dating a workaholic I have washed my hands of dating anyone with that particular habit.

As hot as Isabela is, there is no way in hell I'd actually date her. Maybe a one off thing... though I'm not really into that, but she'd be worth it.

This is why I loved Sera so much. Very loyal.

Sarcastic female Hawke.... hell yes. Through my DA:2 play-throughs I couldn't help but think, "Babe you are too good for all of these people."

Honestly...? The Iron Bull.

Not much on looks, but Bull is rather smart (heard the chess game between him and Solas?), kick ass, funny and endearing when he calls me Kadan (it... almost reminds of Thane and 'siha').

When it comes to looks... Alistair, Cullen or Awakening Anders. I like my men square-jawed and blond...

Also... that Bull Romance scene made me as curious as Josephine. XD
