Okay now I've played with both M+K/B and XBox360 controller control. And I can see what is tactical camera in both cases and why it feels so bad.

1. Moving camera.

In DA:O LRUD (left-right-up-down) movement was executed by moving mouse in according direction. This was easy and reliable because camera in DA:O had two modes: following the character and fully free. Free cam is a must-have for games with party control.

In DA:I after patch 2 camera is free, too. It's a great achievement for the game (don't laugh) and it is half way to what we PC gamers want. Now it's only up to changing camera movement controls! Easy fix, lots of thanks - I believe you want it Bioware.

This WASD console-looking nonsense we have now is THAT frustrating, yes.

2. Pause mechanics.

When you play with a controller game is PAUSED until you press and hold a key for time to flow again.in tactical camera view. Which I find extremely nice addition (never played DA games with a controller before, so it can be not as new as I think).

When you play with a M+K/B game ISN'T PAUSED until you press the key for time to stop (just once when you enter tac cam view). Which I don't like personally, as I hate those 'hit-the-hedgehog-with-a-shovel' games... I don't want my reflexes to be tested, thanks.  I'd play Call of Duty if I wanted to.

So a switch between these two pause modes in setting look pretty fine to me. I think some PC players will find it very attractive.

3. This ugly concole-looking cross (camera center) should be removed from PC version of the game as we simply don't need it. Really. We have a mouse with fine tuned and accurate controls. If the camera movement gets tweaked as in #1 no one will ever need this cross.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Once you get used to moving the camera with WSAD it's actually quite intuitive.

And don't forget Q and E. They're vital for camera movement!

Well. Yeah. No doubt in that.

Once you get used to the Fluggaenkoecchicebolsen, a lot of 'neewly introduced features' look pretty intuitive.

But hey if we get stuck with this tactical Fluggaenkoecchicebolsen for ever I want my free T-Shirt!

I play with kb+mouse, and (pre-patch at least, I haven't played with the patch yet) switching to tac cam auto-paused the game. Do you mean the patch changed it? I thought I remembered it being in the game options.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for mousescroll as well. I find the WASDing really frustrating -- moves too fast, for one, and the terrain/ceiling constrains make it too hard to actually see what I want to be looking at for tac cam to be practical IMO. I just play ranged in action mode for now.

Uh not exactly like that with the pause mechanics.

When you use MKB game is paused on entering the tac cam view, yes. But after that any time you press Ctrl (pause/unpause) it works like a switch (on/off).

Gamepad controls work different. It is paused all the time you are in tac cam view, and you press and hold right trigger to make time flow. Which I find a lot better than a usual on/off switch.

ah I see! I've never played with a controller so I hadn't gotten your meaning. In that case, it'd definitely need to be an option IMO. There's enough sustained holding down of keys in this game as it is, my shoulders kill me after extended periods of play. The toggle fits my use of tac cam better.

Just as i say, friend. Tastes matter, so we could choose between the two. Both types are ready to go, anyway - already built and in your game.

Sorry but... I have to ask. What is a Fluggaenkoecchicebolsen? I was kinda imagining this:

Yeah i've been playing 25 hours now and i'm still not used to it, its horrible and broken disjointed feeling.. I'm playing a fluid RPG not an RTS game..

Q and E are not vital, you just use your mouse to spin the camera, like the last two Dragon Ages..

Yeah, 130+ hours into the game now and I couldn't get used to such controls.
Still can't wrap around my mind why did Bioware change something that worked great before and still works great in every damn RPG game with party control?

WSADQE* in tac-cam view is more intuitive than using a mouse to pan, rect select, zoom or rotate? I... I...
