*Peeps in*
Er, hullo. Dunno how much I'll post since my doodlings are not always Dragon Age related (most often, I suppose, I will attempt to draw my tabletop RPG characters, or cartoons.)
Art Level & Experiences: Novice, probably
I had to take one or two courses in 'Design and Color' at university as part of my Art History degree about 15 years ago (OH MAKER I'M SO OLD). I've doodled things for years, as you do, but without any kind of real direction or instruction bar the occasional 'how to draw horses' or 'how to draw Aladdin characters' kind of book. Apart from that I've mainly done basic Photoshop stuff of photos or game screenshots, making icons or banners or what have you. I used to do a lot of craft projects when I was younger (painting wooden Christmas ornaments, needlework, sewing plushies) but I do that only occasionally now. (I really need to get a sewing machine.) I really enjoy painting but I don't ever really try to do art or pictures with it; the last thing I painted was some Kinder egg capsules, to turn them into Minions from Despicable Me.
Preferred Medium: Pencil and paper, Inkscape for lines, Photoshop for colors/blending/painty stuff. Drawing with a mouse is terrible. ![]()
Anyhoo, nice to meet you all!
Welcome, Laurelinde
No worries about drawing non-DA-related things. This is a private group, so you can post anything you like, and we'll do our best to help you improve
The main idea is to have fun, and share your love for art ![]()
Looking forward to seeing your work! Make sure to check out our Tips thread for some helpful hints. Our WIP section is very active, so please drop by to have a look. It's also a good place to ask questions ![]()
Welcome Laurelinde ![]()
About your drawings not being DA related, don't worry & don't hesitate to post it here. We've just discussed about that yesterday & since this is a Private Group, there's no limitation on what kind of art/drawing can be posted.
Please just put NSFW things under spoilers & tag that appropriately... ![]()
Whoops, ninja'd by Tesh!

Thank you ![]()
Hello everyone *little wave*. Cerulione told me about this lovely group, so here I am.
Art Level & Experiences: Somewhere below beginner. I can sometimes replicate things alright and I have plenty of things I want to create, but I'm not to that level yet.
Preferred Medium: Pencil (and sometimes crayons). I would love to get up to the point where I would feel comfortable buying a tablet but that will be awhile.
Welcome! Yaay you really come ![]()
I think that starting with pencil is always good, it's the basic of all drawings no?
Welcome to our little group! I saw some of your Cullen doodles on Tumblr, and they look really good, for someone who believes herself at a level below beginner
Don't be shy, post your work, and ask questions. We're here to help, and make learning how to draw a fun process ![]()
Awww. Thanks you two

I tend to get pretty down on myself/frustrated at times (it's something I'm working on), so that's going to be a challenge. lol. I feel more comfortable with my photographs and writing, so this is uncharted territory for me. ![]()
No worries
You can't do wrong here, really. The important thing is to enjoy yourself while drawing. And if you want to challenge yourself, we can help along the way ![]()
Welcome! I had the same exact feelings as you (even the photography and writing thing!), but this group does wonders on your motivation and as Tesh says, makes the process of learning fun ![]()
